411 Hun? Whats the

Question:

How can

artists

expand their

brand?

Consistency

A calendar is a nice touch and lets your audience know where you’ve been and where you are going next. As you continue to focus on your craft, don’t forget about the people you love the shit you produce. As an artist nowadays you have to constant remain visible to your audience, because I hate to say it but, we (that’s us

millennials) have the shortest attention span.

Keep your peeps in the loop. Constantly. Seriously. The more your audience can see you the more they are in tuned with upcoming projects, new haircut, or side businesses (because as an artist you must have a few hustles).

Relationships

We live in an era when simply producing art isn’t enough. Fans want to know who you really are behind closed doors. They long to relate to you, shop where you shop, eat what you eat. So keep-

ing an open line of communication is key for building a strong and lasting fan base. It’s important to stay in touch with people you meet Does that mean using social media? Yes…. and no because there’s more to it that just Snapchat. Not everyone you know wakes up and checks their Facebook before they brush their teeth. Many people use different forms of communication such as email and you know using a phone to actually make a call. Utilizing every form of communication available to you allows you to expand your

network while honing in on your ability to quickly and easily

build bonds. Make it a point to check in on people you’ve met along your journey every couple weeks. Chat them up, give them a quick update on your budding career, continue building that genuine bond keeps them rooting for you.

Press coverage

***Besides basking in the glory of a well-written review, you should also to use all the good things that bloggers or press have said about you for your EPK.

An essential part of your career as an artist is based in what type of press you attract. Establishing a name

for yourself in any industry can be difficult but not impossible.

Why is this important??? If you’re working for your brand now then shouldn’t your brand work hard for you later? Unfortunately, a lot of artists spend 80% of their time producing their work and only 20% promoting it. If you spend eight months putting your blood sweat and in some cases literally tears into a project then why only promote it for two months? Reach out to local writers about attending your event or reviewing your product. Writers love cool shit so if you’re producing cool shit let us know we loving sharing information with readers. Readers that could possibly be a new market for you.

Noo$e,

The New Cat On The Block

Noo$e is as smooth as a rapper-producer combo can be. After recently moving to Tampa only four months ago, he has already established a name for himself. Sharing the stage with Mason Monroe, Marv Illest, YZM, and Big Baby ScumBag just to name a few artists. This coming Monday he is set to perform at The Young Parisians Wine & Rhyme at Anise. We got a chance to sit down with the Virginian transplant to see what makes him so a cool cat. SavageCity: Have you been to Tampa Before deciding to move here? Noo$e: Maybe once or twice when I was little but nothing long term. SC: What factors influenced your decision to move here? N: I had a couple homies tell me the scene was growing and upcoming. It was actually between here and Atlanta, but I didn’t want to be that dude. I feel like everyone nowadays is from Atlanta. SC: Favourite Tampa Artists? N: That’s good one, I don’t know. (Chuckles) Can I say myself? My homie Mason (Monroe). Just watching him just helps me improve a lot. I wouldn’t say I have a favorite but I have couple people I fucks with like Big Baby, Betty Dawl. They’re cool.

SC: What type of Music did you grow up listening to? N: So my mom listened to a lot of gospel. So I had a heavy church background as far as my mom’s side goes. I had a lot of Luther(Vandross), Annetta Baker, Prince, Michael Jackson, Pretty much everything, Whitney Houston. SC: How long Have you been making music? N: I started getting into music when I got into band, That was back in 2006. I didn’t start producing and rapping until like maybe 2009. So I have a few years under my belt at far as production and rapping goes.

SC: What instrument were you playing? N: I was playing percussion; Snare drums were my shit. Then I graduated to some other instruments. SC: What have you been working on since you been back down here? N: Right now I’ve just building music and performing. Same ole shit I was doing in Virginia. Trying to get some visuals. Hopefully have a project out in the summer. SC: It’s 2017, sometimes I find myself listening to old tracks from the early 2000s’, Chingy, nelly, maybe even T-pain. What are some old tracks you find yourself revisiting from that era? N: I listen to a lot of Tweet, a lot of R. Kelly. A lot of R&B. Ludacris, Nate Dogg, I could go on for a while actually.

SC: Would you sign with Birdman?

N: Hell…WHAT? N*gga that’s a trap. Hell naw bruh. I feel like sign to him is selling my soul. Can’t get that back. No disrespect to Birdman. (Chuckles) SC: How many times a week do you go shopping? N: Not enough. (laughs) I hit the thrift maybe like every two to three weeks but I want to hit them up more often. I’m trying to find some people that like to thrift as much as I like to thrift. SC: Best finds thrifting? N: A lot of Tommy (Hilfiger), a lot of Guess. I’m a huge fan of FUBU.

Donate your unwanted FUBU to me, I’ll love you forever.

SC: Are you trying to make a FUBU come back in 2017? N: Yes, the right way though. The creator of FUBU recently came out with this new shirt. It’s kind of weak, I feel mad disrespected that he would even put it out there. I rock with FUBU a lot and the design was not up to par. SC: Are you still getting love back home? N: Oh yeah, endless. They love out there and I love them back. Virginias got my back and I love it. Not everybody is hip to me but the people who are, show me so much love. Catch Noo$e performing live at Wine & Rhyme May 1st.

Day 1: As I laugh, I look into his eyes, beauty of light brown made me smile..... I never had someone touch me the way he does and his physical, it has no description! I feel myself falling... falling fast for a man who’s known me all my life and as good as this may feel ...

I can’t fall! Her passion for empowering her melanin her brothers and sisters through prose has led her to our shore. Nico Sweet has only been in the bay area for a short period of time but the North Carolina transplant has already created her own wave. Her energetic performances, often accompanied by members of Macibision, command attention but it’s her enigmatic personality off stage that gives her an edge over most. Check out our exclusive interview wth Nico Sweet HERE.

I’M IN LOVE

AND

March 23, 2011

Day 2 : (Sigh) Ring in one hand I think about what shouldn’t be but feels so right... OMG and so lustfully enjoyed, bad me.. bad me. I’m thinking “Child, why me? I can’t be selfish, I can’t be greedy, I gotta choose?” Slid my ring on firmly , then paused... flashes of glistened passion and covered moans... him tracing my spinal line while I rode him in rhythm (Lls).... March 24, 2011 So addictive! Day 3 : I’M IN LOVE AND

: Michael M Sinclair

I DON’T BELONG TO HIM!!!

This echo’s constant while I strive for answers.... I stare at my loves symbol of promises, this ring, my ring that I’ve tarnished with broken lies I wear in shame. Oh yes I hide it well, my misery mascara, the pain I’ve caused you and myself in this one sided, love triangle. so I say to myself, I have to be faithful, so I can’t let him go (so selfish) but on the other hand, the past is so easy to run back to...not seeing the consequences of my moistful actions has made soil for our sin, blinded me and lead me into ecstasy... THIS IS SO NOT GOOD, I THINK I NEED REHAB.

I DON’T BELONG TO HIM!!!
