Interdis. Research Center
Project: Retrofitting of an existing building in Roanoke, Va into an interdisciplinary health and design research and innovation center for collaboration with the Carillion Research Institute. Location: Salem Ave and 5th Street, Roanoke, VA 24016 Time: Eight Weeks Date: Spring 2019 Model Software: Revit
Sight line towards Main Stairs
An original art work, Morning Rush, created by Bonnie Mason of the corner of Salem Ave and Williamson Road adorns a central wall on the second floor of the building. Her exterior rendering of the Taubman Museum of Art is mimicked in the appearance of the curtain walls outside of the various collaborative and teaming rooms.

Taking a stroll through Downtown Roanoke, one experiences a cohabitation of the past with the present. The remains of original painted advertisements and the signs of long gone factories overlook the contemporary city streets. With this in mind the redesign does not try to mask the original skeleton of the old bread factory, but clearly states what has been added on, to accentuate and compliment to buildings unique floor plan.

The project’s layout is determined by the 8 different types of intelligences that humans poses. This design focuses on the 5 types that effect ones ability to learn the most: Musical - Music Smart - People who understand sound and work better with background noise Bodily Kinesthetic - Body Smart People who are good with their hands Logical-Mathematical - Logic Smart - People who are good at qualifying things and tend to be very good with computers Interpersonal - People Smart Those that work best alone because they understand themselves better than those around them Intrapersonal - Self Smart - Those that are good with others and work best in a team The layout is designed to encourage each intellegence type within a specific area, and thus challenge those who are not as strong in a certain type.

Blacksburg Public Library
Project: Renovation of the existing public library by teams of two third year interior designers Teammate: Devon Perenic Location: 200 Miller St SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060 Time: Six Weeks Date: Spring 2019 Model Software: Revit
Sight lines from Main Entrance
The library is like the moon of the community in that they are always changing and fluctuating. But, even as libraries seem to be at their smallest phase they never lose their influence at the heart of the community. We drew this analogy from the branding of the Mont. Floyd Regional Library, which depicts a waning crescent moon over top a sun. We integrated the traditional library experience with modern advances in technologies to create a space of blended character. The new space respects the classic origins of the library, while embracing its shifting position in the community.
Floor Plan
Two mural walls as well as a custom art display piece were incorporated in the design to encourage local artists to participate within the community of the library.

Camp Director Residence
Project: Bienenstock Design Competition. Second floor of the Camp Activity Center is the executive office, executive conference room, and the private residence of the Camp Director. Location: Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania Time: Six Weeks Date: Fall 2019 Model Software: Revit
Master Bedroom
The competition placed strict restrictions on the square footage of the various program specific areas, in addition to the furniture size requirements. This challenged me to come up with unique space saving furniture layouts. Drawing inspiration from Red fox dens which are composed of a central chamber with smaller side compartments branching out, the floor plan follows this form with the Kitchen being the Main chamber with the branches becoming more private in the Master Bedroom and more public in the Office and Conference rooms.
