Planning a wedding is an exciting and busy time in a woman’s life. With all the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to miss an essential component of looking your best – taking care of your skin. Whether you are the bride or the mother of the bride, you want to look your best as the big day draws near. Let this timeline guide you through all the to-dos!
12 MONTHS
Schedule an appointment with a licensed aesthetician and an aesthetic injectable provider. They will each assess your skin health and make recommendations for redness, brown spots and texture issues like acne and scars. They will guide you in proper skincare and may recommend chemical peels, lasers, microneedling, dermaplaning or hydrafacials. If you have lines at the forehead, between the brows or around your eyes, your injectable provider may recommend Botox/Dysport treatments to relax those muscles and smooth lines. Deep lines may require several treatments. Sagging and wrinkles due to significant volume loss can be improved with fillers, which will rebalance, lift and smooth skin. Be sure to tell them you are preparing for a wedding and what your timeline is.
9 MONTHS
Now is the time for procedures that require downtime or results time. Lasers can lift dark spots, improve fine lines, texture, vessels, redness, pores and build collagen over a three- to six-month period. A series of microneedling treatments will smooth and brighten skin, tighten pores and stimulate collagen.
6 MONTHS
It’s time to make those final adjustments to your skincare routine. If you are considering Botox or fillers, make your appointments for treatment three to six months before the wedding.
3 MONTHS
Now is the perfect time to have a light chemical peel or try a hydrafacial or dermaplane. A chemical peel will remove dull skin and brighten your face. A hydrafacial will clear congested pores, plump tissues and infuse the skin with anti-aging serums. Dermaplaning will remove dead skin and peach fuzz, leaving your skin super smooth and better able to absorb all the goodness of your skincare regime. From here forward, you will want to focus on your current skincare and no downtime procedures.
4 WEEKS
Now’s the final time for Botox and filler touch-ups.
1 WEEK
Have a relaxing facial or hydrafacial with dermaplaning for that amazing wedding skin glow!
