SUSHICAFÉ OEIRAS

OEIRAS, PORTUGAL

The project proposes the discovery of new textures, colours and backdrops in Japanese culture and architectural language. In order to fulfil this aim, a more conventional eating area is provided, alongside another which will house a sushi bar. The predominant material is bamboo, which can be seen on the furniture, walls and ceiling in a laminated design, lending a delicate, harmonious feel to the restaurant. The quality of the light is maintained as a play on shadows, with a subtle, gradual change in tone. Contrasting with the sophisticated red which is present in the space, the subtle golden colour of the wood not only influences the feel but also the warmth of the project as a whole.
