2019 Meetings with a Mission

MEETINGS WITH A MISSION was designed to encourage connections between our attendees and those in the community in which we are meeting.

For our 2019 Meetings with a Mission initiative, we partnered with the Avalon Center (avaloncenter.org). Avalon Center works to end domestic and sexual violence by breaking the cycle of abuse through prevention, education, shelter and support services. By offering tools for safety, self-sufficiency and empowerment, Avalon helps build a stronger, healthier community in the greater Williamsburg and Middle Peninsula communities. Teresa Christin, Executive Director for Avalon, joined for dinner on Thursday night and shared with us the challenges facing their clients.

Avalon receives funding from local, state and federal governments, in addition to donations from generous individuals, business, civic and religious groups, as well as United Way. We are proud to announce that we collected over $4,000 for this great cause. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
