Letter from the SLD President

INNOVATION, RESILIENCE, AND COMRADERY

Beginning my term as SLD president during the height of a pandemic meant that all of our events and meetings had to go virtual. While this was handled beautifully by the SLD, it was great to finally resume in person events in 2021.

In November, we traveled as a group to Grand Rapids, MI where we were graciously hosted by RedStamp and ProCat. We toured the RedStamp facility in Grand Rapids and were presented with a fantastic presentation from ProCat. The SLD also toured Dematic where we learned about warehouse automation and got to get a glimpse into the future of our industry. It is clear that the future is now and automation will be king in the wholesale and distribution industry.

It has been a complete honor to serve as SLD President over the past 2 years. Seeing the innovation, resilience, and comradery displayed throughout this entire association during such uncertain times gives me hope for the future of this organization and industry. I am hopeful that my children will be able to enjoy this incredible group of wholesalers and manufacturers in the years and decades to come, just as I have and will continue to!
