WORK EXPERIENCES EDITORIAL INTERN AT RE-THINKING THE FUTURE I was responsible for writing a research article every week. The topics included new perspectives on everyday architecture. TEAM VAVANI Vavani is a student body initiative that invites existing students, alumni and proffessionals to start a dialogue regarding several questions we as design students ask. CONDUCTED A STORY TELLING WORKSHOP It was called 'WHO AM I?'. The Idea was to encourage people to be more expressive and articulate about their ideas and emotions.

THE WHITE BRICK HOUSE (3rd Semester- 2019)
Project Focus: Space Planning Project Type: Resedential Site Area: 60sqm
The project was to design a travellers home in Udaipur on a secluded ghat near lake picholoa. The process followed a brief study of understanding the Gateways of Udaipur as in-between spatial elements of the city, that created a jusxtaposition of the indoors and the outdoors. A few peculiar aspects of these gateways, such as the movement and the visual cones they created and the framed perspective views they offered, became the inspiration for the design. The site is East facing and has a deck floor plate of 9mx6m. The movement on the site is very linear, except for the way it creates to the small terraces on the ghat. Although it recieves a huge amount of sunlight throughout the day, the two buildings on either side keep the site shaded. The site being on a secluded ghat is rather quiet.

VAANI PRIMARY SCHOOL (4th Semester- 2020)
Project Focus: Space Planning/ Detail Project Type: FnB Site Area: 125sqm
The intent was to design a school that aims to help children become critical thinkers who are able to articulate and reason ideologies and emotions. It also intends to encourage children to become opinionated, assertive and to possess their own voice. The school seeks to break the conventional notion of a 'pindrop silence' classroom environment and allows individuals to possess their own voice and participate in discussions and dialogues. The project looks at two kinds of dialogues, Individual and Collective, where the former one allows for a discussion with one-self and the latter one gives room for discourse between people of varied thought processes and ideologies. Set in a rural background, the project aims to nurture a child's opinions as valuable insights by providing a fluid space that allows for varied possibilities to coexist. Spaces are designed to promote conversations, community engagement and storytelling as essential tools for learning

SUAVE:A FRENCH FINE DINE (4th Semester- 2020)
Project Focus: Space Planning/ Detail Project Type: FnB
The project was to develop, design and detail out a restaurant as a part of designing hospitality spaces. The given site was studied and a restaurant brand was designed accordingly. The interior spaces and ambiance were then worked out keeping the cusine and the intent in consideration. Detailed drawing of the flooring, the ceiling, the various partitions and the furniture pieces were done. The chairs of the dining area were detailed out to multiple prototypes, sketches and then detailed component drawings. The site is located on the ground floor of the Stellar building on Sindhu Bhavan Road, Ahmedabad. It is a north facing commercial/retail building. With such a commercial footfall, the site called for a formal and elegant dining space with gourmet services. The intent was to design a space that welcomed the commercial crowd and gave them an essence of the french culture.

The Pandemic Story Having recently completed a year since its inception, the coronavirus has created a Stirling whirlwind in the entire globe. Apart from its severe medical consequences which led to the global pandemic, the virus has given birth to a different world altogether; a world that is contemplating its pace and actions. The rise from the ongoing pandemic is unhurried and reflective of the actions of the human race. We are reaping what we have sown and in the process of doing so, we have introspected on our rat raced lives only in an attempt to make changes for the better I discern this change- when I hear that working from home has improved people’s family lives, when I see that the women in power are being appreciated for better crisis management, when I comprehend that climate change has slowed down. These changes nurture hope and possibilities for a world that is more cohesive and coherent. The whirlwind of the pandemic is not entirely negative in a larger sense. It is a pause and more so an opportunity for us to right the wrong and mould a better future for ages to come
What is Home? The concept of home is ambiguous. It concerns one’s emotions and behavior. It is something more than just a physical place. A home constitutes of culture, ethnicity, sociology, demographics and history. This is where design comes into play. it gives a blend of all these to convert a house to a home. The design, the meaning, the layout of a home depends on the socio-demographic and psychological dimensions, that are studied in terms of the historical perspective Our immediate response to looking at any form of architecture is identifying its origin and ethnicity. We, more often than not, tend to associate landscape or buildings or even interior or furniture elements to their source of origin. This comes in response to our understanding of the typecast as community. The making of homes comes from this perspective of understanding culture. It feels safe and sound when the shelter you are living gives an essence of the environment you belong to. It is hence said that the home is where the heart is...j
