Father Paul Murray, O.P. to Speak in Memphis Talk entitled "Astonishing Journey into God: The Dark Night of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta" Father Paul Murray, O.P. is the next speaker in the 2015 Lumen Civitatis speaker series, following Archbishop Peter Sartain in March and Archbishop Augustine Di Noia, O.P. in April. Father Murray, an Irish Dominican, lives and works in Rome where he is President of the Spirituality Institute at the Angelicum University. In 2014 he was appointed Consultor to the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints. Author of a number of books in the fields of spirituality and literary criticism, He has also published four books of poetry, one of which was awarded Poetry Ireland Choice. Asked to give talks and retreats in a number of different countries over the years, he was invited, in November 2010, to deliver a lecture on Christian contemplation at the House of Lords in London. Works published by Father Murray include the following: A Journey with Jonah: The Spirituality of Bewilderment (2002) In the Grip of Light: The Dark and Bright Journey of Christian Contemplation (2012) Aquinas at Prayer: The Bible, Mysticism and Poetry (2013) Scars: Essays, Poems and Meditations on Affliction (2014) Perhaps his most pertinent work for this particular talk in Memphis is I Loved Jesus in the Night: Teresa of Calcutta, A Secret Revealed (2008).
