First Friday Adoration First Friday Adoration at SBA is in immediate need for parents to fill 30 minute to one hour shifts on May 6. The time slots in most need are: o 7:30-8:00am o 8:00-8:30am o 10:00-10:30am o 10:30-11:00am o 1:00-1:30pm o 1:30-2:00pm o 2:00-2:30pm The United States conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Devine Worship states, “…a minimum of two people must always be present during Exposition of the Blessed Eucharist. During this time, under no circumstances is our Lord to be left alone.” Please help us to ensure that this does not happen at SBA on May 6. St. Benedict Crossroads Concert Series closes season with Guitar Summit Jazz Guitar Summit with Gerard Harris, Chip Henderson, Charlton Johnson & Harold Smith Sunday, April 10, 2011, 6:30 p., St. Benedict Performing Arts Theatre The artists in this year’s Jazz Guitar Summit have over 100 years of combined experience as Memphis’ most highly respected guitarists. That experience ranges from the Count Basie Orchestra (Charlton Johnson) to Kool and the Gang (Gerard Harris), to Memphis Soul legend Ann Peebles (Harold Smith), and Memphis Jazz legends James Williams and Donald Brown (Chip Henderson).This evening promises to take the listener to dizzying heights of virtuosic guitar playing, and on a musical journey around the world of American Music. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these artists together for the first time, and shouldn’t be missed. Also performing will be the award-winning SBA Jazz Band. Seniors – Mother/Son Dinner (DEADLINE EXTENDED!!) The mother/son dinner for senior boys is scheduled for April 17 at 6:30pm at Colonial Country Club! Don’t miss out on this special evening with your son! Please RSVP via the Evite sent and send in $28 per person to the school office by April 8th! The Eagle’s Eye Through the feedback we received from Monday Mail over the last several weeks, we have now published an online version of the school Newspaper, The Eagle’s Eye. Cheerleading Clinic & Tryouts!! Seniors – Mother/Daughter Tea The invitations to the Mother/Daughter Tea were e-mailed out Friday, April 1st. The event will be held on Sunday, May 1st, 2011 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the Colonial Country Club. The deadline to register is April 23rd. Please join us in celebration of our daughters, step-daughters, granddaughters, goddaughters, and nieces. Put on your best Sunday dress or your Kentucky Derby attire and don’t forget your hat!! Community News Section SFA Fall Fest 2011 We are starting the planning process for the 2011 SFA Fall Fest event (formerly Oktoberfest). This year's event will take place on Friday September 30th and Saturday October 1st. We are always looking for SFA Parishioners that would like to assist in the planning and the weekend event. We are also looking for sponsors and this year it will include the ability to sponsor the "corn hole", "ladder toss", "chipping contest", "baseball fastest throw", "basketball free throw", and/or "putting contest" during lunch on Saturday. Camp Marymount Open House (Sunday, April 10th, 2011, 4pm-7pm) Camp Marymount is currently accepting campers for the 2011 summer season. Marymount is a Catholic residential summer camp located in Fairview, just 17 miles west of downtown Nashville,TN.
