The St. Benedict at Auburndale High School Performing Arts Department presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s most delightful plays, Thursday, April 26 through Sunday, April 29 at the school’s Performing Arts Theatre, 8250 Varnavas @ Germantown Parkway in Cordova. Performances are at 7:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and the Sunday performance is a 2:30 Matinee. SBA’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream relocates the bard’s classic fantasy/comedy in one of the most exciting places and times in American history: New Orleans, around Mardi Gras, in the late 1940s. The play’s colorful characters fit right in with the street performers, merchants and high society of Crescent City culture as they discover that, “the course of true love never did run smooth” (especially when there’s a little bit of magic involved). Appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $8.00 in advance or $10 at the door. For information call 260-2840 or visit www.sbaeagles.org.

The school’s Fine Arts Department offers this artist series to celebrate a variety of dramatic and musical experiences for the school and general community. SORORITY QUESTION & ANSWER MEETING FOR ALL SBA SENIOR MOMS AND DAUGHTERS THURSDAY, APRIL 12 AT 6 PM DISTANCE LEARNING CENTER Floy Cole is a local woman and mother who donates her time to meet with senior moms and daughters across the city to prepare the girls who plan to go through Rush. It will also answer questions for those who might just be considering it. Our daughters will be going off to college shortly and arming them with knowledge about the Greek Systems around the country is important. It will also hopefully help avoid some Rush disasters. Sororities are not just about the social life, as important as it is. Their charitable Service is a huge part of their makeup. Floy will provide handouts and will only take around 30 minutes. She will be available for questions afterwards. It doesn’t matter what University your daughter might be planning to attend.
