Tree of Life The Teens for Life Club is sponsoring a collection of baby items for Memphis pro-life center during October-Respect Life Month. The “Tree of Life” will be located near the dining hall with fall leaves identifying baby or new mother items. Please take a leaf, purchase and return the item in store wrap (not gift wrap) with the leaf attached and your name on it. For those going on the pro-life trip, bringing an item helps fulfill one obligation.
Junior Parent Meeting – “The College Process” Jennifer Brannon will be hosting an informational session for junior parents on the college process. There are three times from which to choose: October 3rd 12:30pm or 6:30 pm and October 4th 6:30 pm. All three sessions will be held in the Distance Learning Center. Dance Car Wash The SBA Dance Team is holding a car wash on Saturday, Sept. 29th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the First Tennessee Bank located at Trinity Road and Germantown Parkway in Cordova. Please come get your car washed and support your SBA Dancers as they raise money to attend the National Dance Team Championships in February.

Please ensure the photo is labeled with the student’s full name. - Senior quotes to be turned in no later than FRIDAY 9/28. Please email to sbayearbook@sbaeagles.org. We try to avoid duplicating quotes in the yearbook so the student may be asked to change the quote if he or she is the second person to turn in the same quote.

SFA 2012 Fall Fest BBQ Event We are getting close to the SFA 2012 Fall Fest BBQ Event which will be held on September 28TH & 29TH and we are running low on team participation. This year there is a $300.00 Non-Refundable fee for a booth space along with a $100.00 clean up deposit. This entry fee will include both a shoulder and rib entry as well as one team buy in for the corn hole tournament that will be held in the parking lot Friday evening. There will also be an Anything Butt Category with a $25.00 entry fee (unlimited entries). The rules will have few updates from last year and the prize money for the event is $300, $600, $900 for

14th Annual 24 Hour Tour d'Esprit Event Schedule Join us for another fun-filled weekend of walking, running, eating, auctions, live entertainment and more at the 13th annual Tour d’Esprit, October 5 –October 6. The 24-hour race benefits Haiti Medical Missions of Memphis, which staffs and supplies The Holy Spirit Clinic in Croix-des Bouquets, Haiti. Medical professionals at The Holy Spirit Clinic and rehabilitation center have been very busy caring for the people of Haiti as the cholera epidemic persists and the country continues to recover from the devastating earthquake of 2010. EVENT SCHEDULE Silent auction: Friday 3 pm-Saturday 2 pm. The auction features authentic and beautiful Haitian art.
Spaghetti Dinner: Friday 5:30 pm-8 pm. Includes homemade pasta with red sauce, salad, spinach, bread, dessert and beer and wine and entertainment from recording artist John Angotti (5:15-6:16) Live Auction: Friday 7 pm. Offers a variety of vacation destinations and local treasures. Gourmet Breakfast: 7 am-10 am. Breakfast cooks will be serving made-to-order omelets, French toast, fruit, sausage and more. 2012 FATHER/SON PROGRAM For 12 - 15 year old boys (Must be accompanied by a parent or other supportive adult.)
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2012 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Saint Francis Hospital Auditorium 5959 Park Avenue The Father/Son Program explores God’s special gifts of human sexuality and fertility as well as the goodness and wonder of His plan for growing up and becoming a man of integrity. Topics include: the physical changes in a young man’s body as it prepares for fatherhood; emotional changes; acceptance of responsibility; the functions of the male and female reproductive systems; the sacredness of human life; appreciation and reverence for the gift of sexuality; the virtue of chastity; and a question and answer segment. Healthy dating relationships with a strong emphasis on friendship, respect and chastity are also discussed. The purpose of the program is to provide an atmosphere of love and learning to discuss the important topic of growing up and to establish a foundation for continued communication between parent and child. The program is presented primarily by male NFP Center volunteers who have set high moral standards for themselves. They will emphasize respect, strong character, integrity, understanding and appreciation for God’s gifts.
Pizza and refreshments will be served.
