SBA Grants WISH
With the help of WMC-TV News consumer reporter Andy Wise, the students of SBA granted a wish to a young St. Jude patient, Bailey Parker. Throughout the year the school’s Make-a-Wish Club and Club St. Jude held bake sales and other fundraisers to provide Bailey and her family her wish of a Disney Cruise. Bailey came to the school on the afternoon of April 9 thinking she was going to help kick-off the fundraising activity to get her wish later. Little did she know that Andy Wise had a scheme up his sleeve. He told her that he is the consumer reporter for News Channel 5 and he was in attendance to film a “Does it Work” segment. So he and Bailey tried to see if a key would work to open the girls training room door. When they tried it, it worked and out came all the Disney characters she would see on her cruise. Bailey then learned that her wish had been granted. Rebekah Sudduth of Make-a-Wish® was on hand to let Bailey know that she would soon be leaving to fly to Orlando and then embark on her cruise. Bailey’s wish was bitter-sweet for the SBA Eagles, for the day was also held in honor and memory of 2013 alum Gerold Blum who passed away in December. Gerold was a former president of the school’s Make-a-Wish Club. His family was in attendance and helped make Bailey’s wish come true. To see the Channel 5 story copy and paste the link below:

SBA Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon To help us reach our participation goal for the Annual Fund, we will be conducting a phone-a-thon in April and reaching out to those families who have not yet participated. We think that with our challenge of $25 for 25 years, this task will be fun and easy. If you have not yet given to the SBA Annual Fund, we ask you to please consider a gift. Our Annual Fund is vital to our school and every dollar counts. You can give online at www.sbaeagles.org/donate or you can send your donation in to the front office. Thank you so much!
Vote for SBA! First Tennessee Bank is celebrating it's 150th Anniversary and beginning on March 25th, the First Tennessee Foundation will give away $5,000 a day for 150 days to non-profits that they have been associated with over the last 6 years. THIS INCLUDES US. We have to VOTE though. You can vote daily from TWO devices, so please click the link on your computer and on your phone or tablet. We can vote each day through the end of the celebration, which is August 21st. You can actually vote for TEN non-profits each time if you want to - the list is LONG. Our daily votes will add up and hopefully we will be one of the recipients! Thank you for your assistance! This link goes STRAIGHT to our page. It is very easy. Copy and paste into your browser: http://www.150daysofgiving.com/?query=&startName=S&offset=36&max=12
The First Tennessee 150 Days of Giving guidelines are at the end of Monday Mail if you would like more information on this program.
Home and School News Here we are 8 weeks from the end of the school year. Time has flown as it always does. But our work is not done yet. Mark your calendars for the following: April 22nd - LAST HOME AND SCHOOL MEETING FOR 2013-14 May 4th - Mother/Daughter Tea May 13th - Monthly Teacher Treats May 17th - Project Graduation June 2nd & 3rd - Used Uniform Sale (see information at the end of Monday Mail) April 22nd (8:00AM) at our last Home and School meeting of the year we will be electing new officers and recruiting (asking for) volunteers for new chairpeople for the 2014-2015 school year events. With several of our current volunteer parents students graduating, we have MANY positions OPEN and needing to be filled. Please come to this meeting, find out more about the events and how easy it is to be involved and volunteer in your students’ high school career. Visit our Home and School page on the website by clicking on PARENTS and finding the link on the left side of the screen. Most of the events to volunteer are listed and give a description of what is needed. Get a group of friends together and make it fun for yourself and for all involved.
We’ll see you at the meeting. To our incoming Freshman class parents, please come to this meeting and find out how to get involved in your high school students’ life on campus.
