AP Test Scores Congratulations to all our Advanced Placement Students! We received our AP test scores and our students had outstanding performances! A special congratulations go out to our new AP classes – Physics B, Studio Art and Psychology as their class averages were incredible!
New Cafeteria Service at SBA We look forward to our new partnership with MMI Dining Systems. Our dining facilities are state-of-theart for high school students. MMI Dining Services has an excellent reputation in this area and will only enhance our service to our students’ dining needs.
Seniors A reminder to all members of the Senior Class to have senior portraits taken at Holland this month.
SBA and National Signing Day Each year we get to celebrate the success of our students - on so many fronts. Some of our student/athletes even get to "sign" with a college. And when they do, it's always been fun to have family and friends - and cake. We follow the NCAA National of Letter of Intent Signing Dates Calendar to recognize these athletes. Here are our dates for this year: November 13, February 5 and April 16. The signing “parties” are held immediately after school on those dates in the front foyer outside the main office. Below is the NCAA calendar, please note the appropriate schedule for each sport. Students and/or parents should contact their coach and Sports Information Director Sharon Masterson at mastersons@sbaeagles.org; 260-2871 to set up a signing party. Registration Day We will be e-mailing our Registration Day packet the first of August. You will have the opportunity to review it online and all the enclosures prior to our Registration Day. The Registration Day packet materials will also be available on our website on Monday, July 29th.
First Days of School The First Day of School for all NEW students in grades 9-12 is Monday, August 19. This first day will be “Orientation Day” and a half day of school. The day will begin at 7:45 am with 12:15 pm dismissal. Bell rings at 7:45! School begins for all returning students on Tuesday, August 20.
Business News FACTS management is handling all of the billing for SBA for the 13/14 school year. You can e-mail or call the SBA Business Office at hurtk@sbaeagles.org or 901-260-2868 if you have any questions about your
tuition account. All families must have an active payment plan before the final schedules will be released in August.
Academic News Don’t forget that summer reading requirements are listed on the SBA website. Click on the “Students” tab then the “Summer Reading Requirements” tab. All grade levels have one required book and several available for extra credit. All Advanced Placement students have additional reading requirements. Incoming Algebra I students were emailed a packet to help prepare them for the fall. We highly encourage students to complete the packet which may be substituted for a Math quiz grade. The online bookstore is now open! All textbook numbers are listed as well.
