SBA Parent Connection News Greetings from Home and School Parent Connection! The first quarter of our school year is coming to a close. THANK YOU to all of the people who have helped us out and volunteered during registration, tailgates, parent meetings, Adoration and the September monthly teacher treats. We couldn’t have done it without you. We have some additional opportunities coming up and volunteer positions to fill. We currently have 16 people signed up for tomorrow for Teacher Treats. We could use 4 more, if possible. It’s a way to get involved and our teachers and staff really love it. You can send in the treats with your students. Also, we are in need of volunteers for our 8th grade visit days. We have 3 for tomorrow, but need 2 or 3 more. Also on October 10th, we have 4 of the 10 volunteers needed. Please click the links below and sign up if you can help us out. Additional 8th grade visit days are coming up over the balance of October so if you can help us then as well, we really do appreciate it.

Last year, this program raised almost $50,000 for SBA and that was with minimal participation. Can you imagine if we all took advantage of this? Especially with Christmas right around the corner!

Thank you so much for helping SBA!

The Scripps/Eagle Bucks Program raised over $50,000 for SBA last year. This makes a major difference in the programs we are able to offer our students. Please consider purchasing your holiday gift cards from SBA. Thank you for supporting the SBA Annual Fund.

COMMUNITY NEWS SECTION

! A WEEKEND FOR HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES

QUEST is a program, well-planned to meet high school freshmen and sophomores where they are, and lift them to a greater realization of their own self-worth and a deeper awareness of “the others” in their lives — both persons and God. It centers around a “three circles of love” theme — calling the young people to reflection and insight on love of self, love of neighbor and love of God. Shared activities, group exercises, talks and discussions, plus ritual expressions, are all brought together to give wholeness to this experience. It is important that the QUEST weekend is not an end in itself, but rather the beginning of a lifelong journey of love and relationship with Jesus Christ. QUEST is unique and is to be experienced only once!

FOR CHRISTIAN MATURITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS & SENIORS The SEARCH for Christian Maturity is a weekend experience in Christian Living. It is designed to help you, the young Christian, as you seek to develop and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. These goals are reached on the weekend through a process of talks, small group discussions, films, prayer and many other group experiences. The incredible thing about SEARCH is that it is a program FOR youth that is made possible BY the youth leaders who help make the weekend happen. It provides a unique opportunity for young people to come to know God as God works through the words, actions and lives of their peers. In this way, each SEARCHer is able to gain a greater understanding of the meaning of Christianity in his/her own life and in the world through the thoughts of others their own age who have already begun to find insights and meanings. Finally, it is important to understand that the SEARCH weekend is not an end in itself, but rather it is the beginning of a life-long journey of love and relationship with Jesus Christ.
