Canned Food Drive SUCCESS! Congratulations to the SBA Student Government Association and all the students for an outstanding canned food collection campaign for the Mid-South Food Bank. SBA students, faculty, staff, alums and friends donated money through a myriad of fundraisers (Powder Puff Football, CanStruction, "No shave November" for the guys, Quarter hugs and much more) to raise funds and awareness. With all of this, the SBA monetary donation to the Food Bank, presented yesterday live at 8:00 am on Action News 5 (WMCTTV), was $6,500 and with all the canned foods donated, Eagle Nation contributed enough to provide over 34,000 meals to the Memphis-area community. With this donation, the Food Bank has recognized SBA for being the school with the largest contribution. This encouraged Principal Mrs. Sondra Morris to request of the Diocese Catholic Schools Office a day off from school, which will be granted on Jan. 6. EAGLE NATION, YOU ROCK, and CONTINUE TO SERVE THOSE IN NEED!

Best Christmas Pageant Ever St. Benedict at Auburndale High School brings one of America's favorite Christmas stories to its stage in December with The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Funny, memorable and outrageous, it is the story of a family of incorrigible children who discover the Christmas story for the first time and help everyone else rediscover its true meaning. Tickets are general admission - $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Performance dates and times are – Thursday, Dec. 12, 7:00 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 7:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, 2:30 p.m. (Matinee) Advanced tickets may be purchased in the school’s main office during school hours. For information call the Communications office at 260-2871 or visit sbaeagles.org.

Help the Knowledge Bowl Team Like to buy family members books for Christmas? Please wait until December 10th to buy those items, and help the Knowledge Bowl team earn money. We are hosting a Book Fair at the Cordova Barnes and Noble just up the street from school. On that day, if you bring in a coupon (see attached) or just say that you are there to support the SBA knowledge bowl team, we will get at least 10% of the proceeds from your purchase. Like shopping online instead? No problem. From December 10th – December 15th, online purchases which input our book fair number (11251766) will also earn us at least 10% of the proceeds. The knowledge bowl team thanks you for all of your help, and we look forward to seeing you at Barnes and Noble on December 10th.

EAGLE BUCKS YOU WON’T BELIEVE HOW IT ADDS UP! The Eagle Bucks program lets you earn money for St. Benedict OR tuition credit for yourself while shopping! All you have to do is buy gift cards from us! With more than 50 gift cards to choose from including, Target, Starbucks, Walmart, Kroger, Old Navy, Outback, Chili’s, Bahama Breeze and more, you are sure to find something for everyone in our selection. To place your order, fill out and turn in an Eagle Bucks form. They are available at http://www.sbaeagles.org/eaglebucks or in our main school office. You can designate the money to go to your Tuition Account, The SBA Annual Fund, or an SBA Organization. Orders are placed on a weekly basis and SBA receives a percentage of the sale of the gift card. Last year, this program raised almost $50,000 for SBA and that was with minimal participation. Can you imagine if we all took advantage of this? Especially with Christmas right around the corner!

Thank you so much for helping SBA!

The Scripps/Eagle Bucks Program raised over $50,000 for SBA last year. This makes a major difference in the programs we are able to offer our students. Please consider purchasing your holiday gift cards from SBA. Thank you for supporting the SBA Annual Fund.
