EAGLE BASKETBALL For the third year, SBA Basketball will host games at FedEx Forum, home of the Grizzlies, on Tuesday, January 14. This year the girls open the series in a game with White Station at 1:00, followed by the boys game with Mitchell at 2:30. Watch for notices on FaceBook and the web for ticket information to these exciting match-ups and come out to support your Eagles Basketball teams. The price of a ticket also gets in you to an exciting Memphis Grizzlies later that night. The Basketball teams have also announced that, thanks to some private donations, they have launched the krossover.com site where players and parents are able to view game film throughout the season. Basketball is state-of-art at SBA!
LIDS launches new SBA Sideline Store We will always have our SBA Spirit Shop for our awesome GO-TO Eagle spirit wear, but we have recently been working with LIDS to be one of the first schools in Memphis to set up an online store. You can now customize exactly what you want on any items you choose. All items are shipped directly to you from LIDS in just a few short days. The link is on our website under quicklinks or you can also click the link below: http://www.sidelinestores.com/schools/tennessee/memphis/st-benedict-at-auburndale-high-school
Canned Food Drive SUCCESS! Congratulations to the SBA Student Government Association and all the students for an outstanding canned food collection campaign for the Mid-South Food Bank. SBA students, faculty, staff, alums and friends donated money through a myriad of fundraisers (Powder Puff Football, CanStruction, "No shave November" for the guys, Quarter hugs and much more) to raise funds and awareness. With all of this, the SBA monetary donation to the Food Bank, presented yesterday live at 8:00 am on Action News 5 (WMCTTV), was $6,500 and with all the canned foods donated, Eagle Nation contributed enough to provide over 34,000 meals to the Memphis-area community. With this donation, the Food Bank has recognized SBA for being the school with the largest contribution. This encouraged Principal Mrs. Sondra Morris to request of the Diocese Catholic Schools Office a day off from school, which will be granted on Jan. 6. EAGLE NATION, YOU ROCK, and CONTINUE TO SERVE THOSE IN NEED!

FOR CHRISTIAN MATURITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS & SENIORS The SEARCH for Christian Maturity is a weekend experience in Christian Living. It is designed to help you, the young Christian, as you seek to develop and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and with others. These goals are reached on the weekend through a process of talks, small group discussions, films, prayer and many other group experiences. The incredible thing about SEARCH is that it is a program FOR youth that is made possible BY the youth leaders who help make the weekend happen. It provides a unique opportunity for young people to come to know God as God works through the words, actions and lives of their peers. In this way, each SEARCHer is able to gain a greater understanding of the meaning of Christianity in his/her own life and in the world through the thoughts of others their own age who have already begun to find insights and meanings. Finally, it is important to understand that the SEARCH weekend is not an end in itself, but rather it is the beginning of a life-long journey of love and relationship with Jesus Christ.
