Deploying Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online can be menacing, especially for smaller teams as this platform has apparently endless configuration possibilities. At SBase Technologies, we frequently apply to new deployments using different set of configurations. Changing CRM Online to match business’s terminology and style can go a long way to simplify new users into the system.

1) Tailor your system views Views mean reports, or an Excel table. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM, every entity, record type has a number of default system views. System views are available to all users whereas personal views are created by individual users and can be shared with coworkers. Dynamics CRM stock views help to show how views can be used but they are not useful in your day-to-day operations.

2) Change the Entity Names When you adopt new platforms, language can be a barrier. You can also change the names of entities without compromising the functionality or structure of the CRM platform, as an administrator. It is very simple to do. Let us consider an example to understand this. Let’s change the name of the Account entity to ‘Company’. In order to perform this, navigate to Settings > Customizations > Customize the System. Now, in the solution window that opens, navigate to Account under the Entities dropdown. You can then change the Display Name and Plural Name to your liking, “Company” and “Companies” respectfully in this case. Save and then publish your customizations. Changing the entity label in the navigation will change the display name, but the names of the underlying vies, forms, and fields will not change automatically. We need to change them individually.

3) Change the Theme Organizations can customize the look and feel of their CRM platform using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online. Navigate to Settings > Customizations > Themes. You can create new theme or choose the existing theme by clicking the New button.
