TRANSIT STATION + ARTS & CULTURE CENTRE

GRADUATION PROJECT AT ENSA GRENOBLE, 2023 Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Revit, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop

As part of the urban requalification project of a former industrial site and formal railway station not far from Ramses Station in Cairo, this collaborative project operates on two scales: urban and architectural.

On an urban scale, it aims to connect two distinct districtsformal and informal - isolated one from another by the site. Access to this site is challenging, as it is bordered by two major arteries of the metropolis, and traversed by active railway tracks.

On an architectural scale, it explores the concept of a mixeduse programme that combines urban transit functions as an annexe to the existing station with artistic and cultural activity. In pursuit of the latter, inclusive spaces for artistic production are proposed, along with exhibition areas that seamlessly integrate into the daily experience of urban space and transit.

The Inhabited Platform

In order to facilitate the crossing of the existing metro and train tracks on the site, the Inhabited Platform is overlaid upon them to enable movement and utilisation of the space above. The space around the tracks is transformed into boarding platforms, supplementing the project's intermodal station function.

The park, as well as the built area, take shape according to a set of suggested itineraries on the site, allowing circulation between the various «goals».

Echelle Architecturale: Le Pôle Artistique

The artistic and cultural complex is made of three buildings with complementary functions, focused on artistic and cultural production, exhibition, and performance . A post located directly beneath the main building has been utilized to create a mini-central amphitheater which is visible from all floors.

Our aim was to explore the notion of the post beyond its role as a structural element and to involve it more deeply in the experience of the space, both as a space itself and as an object of ornament and art. This experience applies to a selection of posts within the project's structure.

Chignin Winery

MASTER 1 PROJECT AT ENSA GRENOBLE (2021) ArchiCAD, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop

Located at the foothills of the Bauges mountains in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the municipality of Chignin in the Savoie department is renowned for its winemaking activity. The project involves a winery situated not far from the Chignin towers and the Clos de SaintAnthelme, both medieval heritage sites. It aims to enhance the local activity by positioning the winery amidst the vineyards, in the only uncultivated portion of the site, which also happens to be the steepest and most visible from the road.
