Western University Chapter Updates

On Monday, January 25th, CSHP hosted a session with WesternU’s very own Dr. Anadi Law to speak with students about stress management. Students who attended were able to learn tips and tricks on how to manage stress during pandemic times and in general while being in pharmacy school. In addition to learning about being present and behavior management, Dr. Law led a 10 minute long meditation session over zoom.

On Wednesday, February 3rd, CSHP hosted our annual Mr. & Ms. Pharmacy over zoom. This event allowed WesternU students to showcase their amazing talents and compete for a chance to win a $100 gift card to FIGS! Many talents were showcased, including singing, dancing, and even stand-up comedy! For 2021, we crowned Andrew Pham, P1 and Keysi Ekmekciyan, P2 as our Mr. and Ms. Pharmacy!

On Friday, February 12th, CSHP hosted an Internship Workshop where fellow students shared their experiences as an inpatient pharmacist intern. The institutions showcased were St. Francis Medical Center, Emanate Health - Queen of the Valley Hospital, San Antonio Regional Hospital, and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Students who participated received a brief overview of the various responsibilities of an intern and were given the chance to ask questions regarding their positions, potential opportunities, and managing a healthy life balance between various commitments.
