Comedy legend Lucille Ball is a Chautauqua County native whose vision was to make her beloved hometown a destination for all things comedy. Located in downtown Jamestown, the National Comedy Center is the nation’s official museum dedicated to the art form of comedy. Through state-of-theart technology and over 50 interactive exhibits and collections from the most influential comedians, the National Comedy Center creates a unique and unforgettable experience for each visitor. Visit the Lucy Desi Museum for an in-depth, behind-the scenes look of the lives of the First Couple of Comedy and their hit TV series “I Love Lucy.” Lucy and friends acting out iconic “I Love Lucy” scenes can be seen painted on five buildings scattered throughout Jamestown. Two bronze statues in Celoron’s Lucille Ball Memorial Park also honor the hometown hero. Summer brings the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival with more than 50 events including performances from your favorite comedians. This celebration draws nearly 15,000 visitors to the area from around the nation.

The picturesque grounds of this National Historic District community are worth a visit during any season, for dining and shopping experiences or simply a leisurely walk. During summer, tens of thousands flock to Chautauqua Institution to experience a huge variety of concerts, performances, lectures, author readings and classes. Cruise around Chautauqua Lake on one of the last remaining, working steamships in the country, the Chautauqua Belle. The world’s largest center for Spiritualism, Lily Dale is situated along the peaceful Cassadaga Lakes. During their summer season, the community hosts a large variety of events including workshops and seminars on clairvoyance and healing as well as opportunities for brief sessions with Registered Mediums who live at Lily Dale and offer appointments year-round.
