TURKEY, DEER AND GAME

Chautauqua County is an ideal destination for hunters due to its diverse landscape and abundance of wildlife species. Fall brings bow, shotgun and muzzleloader seasons, drawing in thousands of hunters in search of the region’s large population of whitetail deer. The eastern wild turkey thrives in forested areas throughout the county, which consistently ranks in the top three counties in New York State for the spring turkey harvest. Check the Hunting Regulations below for specifics on season dates and licenses.
