President Trump addressed the 336 delegates who cast their votes in a Charlotte Convention Center ballroom in North Carolina. Chairs were arranged to leave space between them. Also on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence was nominated for re-election. The convention runs through Thursday, and President Trump is expected to speak each night.
