“I love singing, both in the School’s Chorus and in Octet, because each ensemble is a great, collaborative group. We create magic with our arrangements.”

“My favorite thing about singing in Octet is how welcome I feel as a member of that selective ensemble, I have truly grown as a singer and performer at SBS.”

“I feel my best in Dance when I am performing pieces that are choreographed by or with my dance peers. It’s a great opportunity to try out different choreography styles. As for Rock Band, the possibilities are endless. Every song we learn is a group process, and with small groups I feel a part of an important whole” – Sadie ‘23
Performing Arts
The Stoneleigh-Burnham School Performing Arts program is a place where students can express themselves through a community oriented, student centered, culturally responsive environment. Students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and share themselves and their creative endeavors through dance, music, and theater.
Studying the performing arts is an integrated academic and co-curricular learning experience where students learn both the concepts and skills that are common to all performing arts disciplines. Students engage their creative sensibilities on a daily basis, in tandem and in concert with their academic lives.
Stoneleigh-Burnham students take at least two trimesters of arts offerings per year. The department offers fifteen courses offered in total from Middle School to Upper School.
