PARENTS ASSOCIATION TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | The Parents Association is the framework for volunteers that supports the

general needs of the School at all school levels. It encompasses upper school, middle school, lower school, library, technology, communications, Second Fund, spiritual life and more. The committee is responsible for recruiting volunteers for specific jobs throughout the year under their area and working with the school to execute the related events. The Parents Association committee consists of the following positions: • President • President-Elect • 1st Vice President – Upper School Coordinator • 2nd Vice President – Middle School Coordinator • 3rd Vice President – Lower School Coordinator • 4th Vice President – EABC President • Friends of the Arts President • Treasurer

EAGLE ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | The Eagle Athletic Booster Club is an athletic parent leadership committee that

helps run the primary functions of membership, merchandise sales and sports concessions. The EABC recruits volunteers for concession shifts, assists with planning and execution of major athletic events (Homecoming, Flight Night and Spring Swing), encourages school spirit and supports SBS coaches through parent-led initiatives. The EABC committee consists of the following positions: • President • President-Elect & Membership • Concessions Chairmen (Purchasing) • Concessions Chairmen (Sports) (football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball) • Burger Daddies Chairmen • Hospitality Chairmen

FRIENDS OF THE ARTS TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Friends of the Arts supports all of the arts activities at Second Baptist School.

Donations to and participation in FOTA activities allow Second Baptist School to sustain its pursuit of excellence in the arts at each school level and meaningfully impact the school community as a whole. ARTS TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Parents interested in how to be a part of the performing, visual or theater arts programs

should contact volunteer@secondbaptistschool.org.

EABC MERCHANDISE SALES TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Sell EABC merchandise at various events. Proceeds from the sale of merchandise support the

athletic department.

EABC CONCESSIONS TIME FRAME | 1–2 hours DESCRIPTION | Work a shift at various sporting events selling concessions. Major concessions sporting events

include home football games, Homecoming, Flight Night and Spring Swing.

EABC BURGER DADDIES TIME FRAME | 1–2 hours DESCRIPTION | For SBS Dads only! Work alongside fellow burger daddies at major sporting events

including home football games, Homecoming, Flight Night, Spring Swing and more. Volunteers are needed to setup, serve/greet and tear down. No grilling skills required.

LIBRARY TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Share a love of reading and books by helping in the Woliver-Anderson Library. Duties

include re-shelving books, helping students make book selections, assisting in special projects, etc. Time and dates are flexible. Volunteer training session is available.

MASS MAIL OUT SUPPORT TIME FRAME | 1–4 hours per mail out DESCRIPTION | Assist the Office of Advancement with various mass mailings and projects throughout the

year. Notifications are sent for each mailout.

SBS BOOK FAIR TIME FRAME | Two hours for day-of volunteering. Other positions are more time intensive. DESCRIPTION | Support the annual book fair. A wide range of volunteer opportunities are available,

which include the following commmittees: set up, merchandising, special events, decorations, processing, hospitality/food and book donations/data entry.

TEACHER TREATS TIME FRAME | 1–2 hours DESCRIPTION | Bring treats to teachers by school level.

UNIFORM RESALE TIME FRAME | 3–5 hours DESCRIPTION | Help organize, set up and clean up at the uniform resale during the last week of school.

LOWER SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ART MOM TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Assist the art teacher, as needed, with project organization, kiln firing, etc. No experience

is necessary.

BIBLE MOM TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Assist Bible teacher(s), as needed, with projects.

GRANDPARENT PROGRAMS TIME FRAME | 2–3 hours DESCRIPTION | Assist with decorating and set up of the grandparent programs­—Hoe Down (Pre-k and

Bridge), Dream Big (first grade), Presidents Program (second grade) and Jesus Freak (fourth grade). Serve as a hostess with other parent volunteers during the reception following each grade level performance.

MUSIC MOM TIME FRAME | Varies DESCRIPTION | Assist the music teacher in preparation for programs. Volunteers work with spotlights,

costumes and assisting students.

SUBSTITUTE FOR AN HOUR TIME FRAME | One hour DESCRIPTION | Sit with a class during parent meetings at the beginning of the school year.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES BIRTHDAY CLUB | SEVENTH GRADE PARENT TIME FRAME | One year DESCRIPTION | Facilitate birthday club orders and delivery to lower school and middle school students

throughout the year.

EXTREME EAGLE DAY TIME FRAME | 2–5 hours DESCRIPTION | Help during this day of spirit for middle school alongside the Parents Association. Duties

might include decorations, communications and planning.

FOOD FOR PROJECT-BASED LEARNING | FIFTH GRADE PARENT TIME FRAME | 1–2 hours DESCRIPTION | Work with the committee on purchasing and distributing snacks for fifth grade students

at the end of each academic semester.

HONOR | ACHIEVEMENT ROLL TIME FRAME | 1–3 hours DESCRIPTION | Recognize honor/achievement roll students by assembling and distributing a gift

with assistance from the Office of Advancement.

SERVICE DAY TIME FRAME | One year DESCRIPTION | Gather and organize supplies for the middle school community service projects (specific

to each grade).

UPPER SCHOOL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES HONOR | ACHIEVEMENT ROLL TIME FRAME | 1–3 hours DESCRIPTION | Recognize honor/achievement roll students by assembling and distributing a gift with

assistance from the Office of Advancement.

ELEVENTH GRADE SPECIFIC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES GIFT TO SENIOR CLASS TIME FRAME | Two hours DESCRIPTION | Package and distribute senior class photo to the students for the senior dinner.

GRADUATION RECEPTION TIME FRAME | 3–4 hours DESCRIPTION | Assist with the graduation reception. Duties include decorations, food and more.

LEADERSHIP INAUGURATION LUNCHEON TIME FRAME | Three hours DESCRIPTION | Plan food and decorations for the Leadership Inauguration luncheon, celebrating the junior

class, in the spring semester.

TWELFTH GRADE SPECIFIC VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES SENIOR DINNER TIME FRAME | Spring semester DESCRIPTION | Plan and execute the senior dinner in May at the Junior League. Duties include decorations,

invitations, set up, RSVPs and more.

SENIOR LUNCHEONS TIME FRAME | 2–4 hours DESCRIPTION | Volunteer with one of three senior luncheons throughout the school year. Duties include

planning, set up or serving at the luncheons.

SBS Volunteer Handbook Big 3 Volunteer Opportunities | Second Fund

SECOND FUND CHAIRMEN TIME FRAME | One year DESCRIPTION | Work with the Annual Giving Officer to develop and implement the Second Fund five-

week campaign in the spring leading up to the new school year. The five-week campaign takes place in the fall following the Distinguished Speaker Luncheon. Second Fund chairmen recruit and oversee the upper, middle and lower school cabinet chairmen (see below descriptions) and assist the Second Fund Cabinet in reaching out to parents via the phone-a-thon. The chairmen are expected to give meaningfully to Second Fund and be present at any school event that represents Second Fund, which includes the All School Coffee, Second Fund Watch Party and more.

UPPER, MIDDLE AND LOWER SCHOOL CABINET CHAIRMEN DESCRIPTION | Recruit one parent couple from each grade level to be on the Second Fund Cabinet.

Support Second Fund financially and encourage other SBS parents to do the same. Be available to assist the grade level reps throughout the entire campaign.

GRADE LEVEL REPRESENTATIVES DESCRIPTION | Make weekly touch points with each parent in the grade, primarily via email, and encourage them to give meaningfully to Second Fund. Follow up with the grade level parents via handwritten notes and emails during the last two weeks of the campaign.

GRANDPARENT CABINET CHAIRMEN DESCRIPTION | Write a personal story about SBS and how Second Fund has impacted families through the generations. The Office of Advancement sends this story as an appeal letter to all current SBS grandparents. Support Second Fund in any way possible while encouraging fellow SBS grandparents to do the same.

EAGLEFEST CHAIRMEN TIME FRAME | One year DESCRIPTION | Recruit the EagleFest committee, work closely with the Office of Advancement, lead

monthly committee meetings and coordinate all things EagleFest! Manage each area by checking in regularly with committee chairs and assist where needed.

AUCTION CHAIRS Solicit auction items for the silent auction in the areas of class baskets, sports, getaways, date night, health and wellness, pets, jewelry, “All about SBS” and “Fun For All!” Work with the annual giving officer in the Office of Advancement to write descriptions for the auction brochure. Coordinate an auction committee to help follow up with businesses and familes who have not donated, pick up auction donations, set up the auction display the day before EagleFest, tear down after EagleFest and more. Attend all committee meetings.

FELLOWSHIP PARTIES CHAIR Organize hosts for adult, student and grade level end of year parties. Attend all committee meetings.

CARNIVAL CHAIR Recruit the carnival booth chairmen, coordinate activities to include in the carnival. Manage set-up needs and volunteers. Attend all committee meetings.

CARNIVAL BOOTH CHAIR Decorate/run designated carnival booth and recruit volunteers to help the day of EagleFest.

PARADE AND BLUE | GOLD COMPETITION CHAIR Work with SBS coaches on the blue | gold games. Make sure all equipment is ready and games are planned. Coordinate the Christian banner carriers and parage logistics. Write the script to be used during the games. Attend all committee meetings.

PICNIC CHAIR Coordinate the details of the Chick-fil-A luncheon and gather 15 volunteers to help from approximately 10:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on the day of EagleFest. Book other food vendors such as food trucks, snowcones, etc. Attend all committee meetings.

MEMORY BOOK COORDINATOR Manage volunteers from each lower school grade level to produce a memory book that captures the school year. Books are sold at the EagleFest auction to support the faculty endowment fund. Recruit, oversee and direct each of the grade level chairs in the creation of their books. Attend all committee meetings.

MEMORY BOOK GRADE LEVEL CHAIR Produce a memory book for assigned grade level. Samples from previous years are available. Books are produced online through a vendor of the school.

MEMORY BOOK PHOTOGRAPHERS Take pictures at grade level events throughout the year for the memory books.

UNDERWRITING CHAIR Recruit an underwriting committee to assist with corporate and family underwriting for EagleFest. Work with the director of advancement on corporate underwriting in the fall and assist with family underwriting in the spring prior to EagleFest. Assist with acquiring the correct information from donors and make sure that their benefits are coordinated—including t-shirts, carnival tickets and signage. Write personal thank you notes to select donors. Attend all committee meetings.

PROMOTIONS CHAIR Assist with the EagleFest t-shirt design and coordinate My Teacher Shines for the auction. Support the carnival and auction chairs in promoting sales for EagleFest to SBS families. Attend all committee meetings.

DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER LUNCHEON CHAIRMEN NEEDED | Two couples TIME FRAME | One year DESCRIPTION | Plan the Distinguished Speaker Luncheon with the Office of Advancement. Duties include

recruiting the underwriting committee, organizing the mailout events and planning details of the luncheon.

UNDERWRITING COMMITTEE NEEDED | 20 couples TIME FRAME | 10 hours DESCRIPTION | Support the luncheon financially, contact fellow parents to support, attend a letter signing

meeting and serve at the DSL registration table or the underwriting reception.
