Snowflakes Is there anything more magical than a snowflake? We don’t think so and this origami version is a true classic. Have a go at this super simple, eco friendly, craft activity which makes for a stunningly effective decorative centrepiece. Little crafters will love to get stuck in too. Create them in various sizes then hang them in the windows, tied with coloured ribbon or as ornaments on your tree. They will give your home a wonderful Nordic inspired look, full of traditional festive charm.
Let’s get started 1.
Start with a square sheet of paper (not rectangular).

Fold the triangle in half to create a smaller triangle, ensuring that the corners meet, like so.
Time to fold.

Fold the piece of paper in half to make a triangle, as shown. Turn it over and cut along the horizontal edge, snipping off the bottom. Then fold it in half one more time. You will be left with a triangle like this…

Use your creative flair to cut out random shapes along each side like so. There’s no right or wrong way to do this. Go straight, curvy anything goes here. Each snowflake will have its own unique pattern, just like in nature! Remember to supervise any young ones around scissors and use child friendly ones if you can.
