Until its final stages, it is mostly Luisa and I working on this publication, not to mention our respective children that we either drag around with us on photo shoots, or, like other working parents, dot them around with family and friends. Some days it has felt like a constant juggle with this little team, though certainly a rewarding one. We have learnt the importance of being honest when we feel as though we are unravelling as women, as mothers, and as creatives. Those honest conversations are important ones for ALL of us to share. To all those that have advertised with us, and ridden the wave with us as we balance motherhood, work, and running a small business, we are deeply grateful. We see it as an honour, being entrusted to tell the stories, be it visually or with words, that represent people's businesses and livelihoods. My darling Oliver, there are many days I feel like I don't get the work-life balance right, I hope you understand all of my career decisions, aspirations and dedication to work are for the benefit of you. I love you my little bestie.

Eden Platell ART DIRECTOR / DESIGNER

Producing this beautiful magazine is a massive undertaking; there's months of planning, writing, and photography that happens long before the copy and images hit my desk. Then it's all systems go as we feverishly work towards the print deadline, our kids by our side as we consider every detail on every page. As a mum and business owner it can be a challenge, balancing our love for our work with the demands of family life. Accepting – or even asking for – help can be tough, but learning to lean on others can be truly liberating. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to have talented local designer Rachel Young join my design studio. Her skilled eye laid out much of this edition, a project I would have struggled to take on without her help. I am so grateful for her support in lightening the load and to Luisa for inviting us to work on this amazing magazine; together we have produced something truly special that we (and our kids) can be proud of.

Being a part of this team of strong, amazing women and mothers is honestly a privilege. Through them, I have found more strength, resilience, and inspiration but most importantly life-long friendships. I am so blessed to be able to call what I do a job and to be able to work with these creative women. This magazine is a true testament to not only the hard work they all put in but the vision and passion that pours into it. Whether it be photoshoots, meetings, or quick updates over the phone, more often than not with the sound of a baby’s cry or kids running around, and one of us trying to wrangle them in. The number of apologies we give each other for our noisy backgrounds and interruptions is somewhat comical. But we wouldn’t have it any other way. Well, maybe a little less noise when the phone rings and less of those sibling fights, thanks kids! Ah the joys of work life and motherhood, it’s such a beautiful, beautiful juggle.
