BLISS YOGA & PILATES
WITH JANIE COUTTS, OWNER OF BLISS YOGA & PILATES STUDIO AND FREEDOM HEALTH AND FITNESS BEAUDESERT
“A strong core will improve your technique, strength and stamina and compliment everything you do” -
Susan Trainor
As fitness expert Susan Trainor states above, a strong core will improve your technique, strength and stamina, which then compliments everything you do in everyday life or perhaps your sport or other training techniques. A big statement however it’s something that shouldn’t be overlooked. Both Pilates and Yoga share the same principles, they both focus on our core muscles and both, much to many people’s surprise, are incredibly easy to adjust to an individual’s fitness level. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, be it someone who is just starting out or someone who wishes to add a new dynamic to their program, Pilates or Yoga could (most likely should) be the answer and maybe, just maybe… it's the enjoyment level that you’ve been longing for with exercise and training.
Let’s talk benefits…
PILATES improves strength, balance, posture, flexibility, focus, coordination, body alignment, and lowers blood pressure.
The breathing techniques used during pilates can improve diaphragm movement which can improve stamina, this is good for runners and I’ve even been told by one of my members that her singing has improved (there’s hope for me yet!).
Golfers who attend a class each week will benefit also. The improvement in stability and flexibility helps their game due to better rotation, balance and hip movement.
Footballers find they can deal with the unpredictability of being tackled due to improved core strength. Reformer training is the perfect recovery day exercise to rebalance the body after a game.
During pregnancy, reformer training can help maintain strong abdominals and pelvic floor muscles. The breathing techniques used during reformer training can help women with being able to take strong deep breaths during pregnancy and childbirth. Continuing the exercise during pregnancies tends to help with easier deliveries and more energy to recover faster post-delivery.
Who is Reformer Pilates best for?
Almost anyone regardless of age or injury. Modifications can be made for everybody.
Reformer Pilates can be used to add variety to your weekly gym workouts or can be done multiple times a week as we have four instructors teaching classes throughout the week. Reformer training is so versatile each instructor programs classes differently and brings their own style to the studio.
YOGA is also taught in the Bliss Yoga & Pilates Studio numerous times a week with a variety of instructors who teach different styles of yoga.
Yoga improves cardiovascular fitness, digestion, joint health and blood circulation.
It’s a win win no matter where you are in your fitness journey. Enquire with our team today and attend our classes at Bliss Yoga & Pilates.
