Carly Fleet

Kayak Guide & Naturalist

Carly is passionate about sharing ocean experiences and has worked as kayak guide across the Atlantic seaboard and Antarctica.

Her career as a guide began underwater in 2005 as a scuba dive instructor in Australia. Deciding she loved being on the ocean’s surface as much as below, Carly qualified as a Paddle Canada kayak guide and divided her time between the Canadian island of Grand Manan and the tropical island of Grenada. Carly has a strong attachment to the Bay of Fundy’s enormous tides and the Caribbean’s idyllic turquoise waters. Also, as a professional teacher, Carly enjoys mentoring, coaching, and sharing her enthusiasm for the ocean with guests as they discover the destination they are visiting.

Pepe Rojas

Ornithologist & Naturalist

Pepe has had a love and passion for natural history and birds, leading expeditions across the Americas for more than 20 years. As an ornithologist, he has been privileged to work in unique, pristine habitats where no one has set foot before. Pepe’s wealth of knowledge spans the United States - including Colorado, Alaska and California - Mexico and Central America, where he has spent time living and also leading tours. Pepe loves taking guests throughout Alaska to see wildlife such as grizzly bears, caribou, moose, Dall sheep and gray wolves in places like Denali. In Central America, Pepe says that Costa Rica has the best preserved and protected natural areas that offer guests an amazing experience.

Xavier Garcia

Naturalist

Xavier has spent time living in the Galápagos Islands which raised his awareness of nature and conservation. With more than 11 years’ experience, Xavier’s expertise in remote areas like Galápagos, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico, enriches the guest experience with his knowledge of geology, marine mammals and sea birds. With a university degree in film and photography, he has collaborated on documentaries about Galápagos with Sir David Attenborough. Xavier’s extensive experience and knowledge empowers him to help create lifetime memories for guests as they visit the remote and wonderous locations of North and Central America.

Daniel Johnston

Discovery Leader

After teaching in classrooms from Texas to Uzbekistan to Alaska, Daniel escaped to the forests and glacial landscape of the Alaskan wilderness to continue his calling to educate, through tour guiding. He has now been sharing the wonders of the natural world with guests for more than a decade, specializing in the icy waters of Alaska, Antarctica and the High Arctic. In warmer regions, extended adventures throughout North and Central America have proven to Daniel that these are ideal locations in which to discover unique nature and culture, side by side. When consecutive days can include rainforest hikes, sports, snorkeling, archaeological site visits and cultural performances – these locations, he says, provide a robust and well-rounded experience.
