What are the key changes?
From March 1, 2023, guests with river or yacht cruise bookings will:
•Receive an on board credit of 50 per person instead of a backpack and travel accessories*
•Receive electronic rather than printed travel documentation
*Effective dates for the changes vary by product/brand as follows:
•Emerald Europe River Cruising - March 1, 2023
•Emerald Asia River Cruising - June 1, 2023
•Emerald Cruises Yacht Cruises - March 28, 2023
Why is Emerald Cruises, along with the wider Scenic Group, introducing these changes?
Over recent years we have made significant changes to reduce our environmental impact, including the elimination of guest single-use plastics on board our ships, the introduction of reusable water bottles and a shift towards emailing guest travel documentation.
These changes are a continuation of that commitment to leaving as small a footprint as possible for future travel generations as part of Scenic Group’s global Cherish the Planet program.
What is the value of the on board credit I will receive?
What can I use my on board credit for?
The credit will be automatically applied to your on board account and can be used towards the following:
•DiscoverMORE excursions
•Drinks package or beverages throughout your cruise
•A spa or wellness treatment
•Additional laundry services
Are there any restrictions for the on board credit?
The on board credit may not be used against items from the gift shop, is not redeemable for cash and is non-transferable and non-refundable. Limits and exclusions may apply and will be subject to availability.
What if guests prefer to receive printed documentation?
As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, we will no longer be printing travel documentation. We understand you may still prefer to print some documentation yourself such as the booking summary pages, itinerary and emergency contact details.
Will I receive an on board credit for each cruise if I’ve booked back-to-back departures?
Yes, you will receive a credit for each cruise during your journey. However, any unused credits from your first cruise cannot be carried over to the second cruise.
Does this mean I will not receive a travel wallet and luggage tags?
Travel wallets and hard luggage tags will no longer be provided to guests prior to departure.
