What are the key changes?
From March 2023, guests with river or ocean cruise bookings will:
•Receive an on board credit of 50 per person instead of luggage and travel accessories*; &
•Receive electronic travel documentation rather than printed travel documentation
*The dates these changes will be effective from are as follows:
•Scenic Europe River Cruising: March 1, 2023
•Scenic Asia River Cruising: June 1, 2023
•Scenic Eclipse Ocean Cruises: April 1, 2023
Why is Scenic Cruises introducing these changes?
Over recent years we have made significant changes to reduce our environmental impact, including the elimination of guest single-use plastics on board our ships, the introduction of reusable water bottles and a shift towards emailing guest travel documentation.
These changes are a continuation of that commitment to leaving as small a footprint as possible for future travel generations as part of Scenic Group’s global Cherish the Plant programme.
What is the value of the on board credit I will receive?
What can I use my on board credit for?
The credit will be automatically applied to your on board account and can be used towards the following:
• A spa or wellness treatment
•Fine and vintage Champagne, wine or spirits to celebrate a special occasion
•Additional laundry services
Are there any restrictions for the on board credit?
The on board credit is not redeemable for cash and is non-transferable and non-refundable. Limits and exclusions may apply and will be subject to availability.
What if guests prefer to receive printed documentation?
As part of our commitment to reducing our environmental impact we will no longer be printing travel documentation for guests and encourage you to adopt the same approach however we understand for good reasons some guests may still prefer to print some documentation themselves.
What if I have a back-to-back cruise?
You will receive a credit for each cruise, however any unused credits from your first cruise cannot be carried over to the second cruise.
What if I am already entitled to an on board credit or some of these benefits (example a spa voucher for Royal Suite bookings)?
The on board credit is in addition to any existing entitlements or benefits that are related to your loyalty level, suite you have booked or any promotion you received when making your booking.
Does this mean guests will not receive a travel wallet and luggage tags?
Travel wallets and hard luggage tags will no longer be provided to guests prior to departure.
