FIRST STEPS IS HERE

Last year, because of Chester County First Steps:

42 parents & caregivers

155 educators

19 children received services and support to be their child’s first and most important teacher were directly served in Chester County participated in First Steps training and professional development, benefitting 500+ children

PROVEN RESULTS

A 2019 study found that children who received First Steps local partnership services were: to score at the highest level on the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment to be chronically absent in kindergarten

THE NEED PERSISTS IN CHESTER COUNTY

First Steps works but we need to expand our reach to ensure that all children are ready.

As the Executive Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education for the Chester County School District and Chair for the Chester County First Steps Board of Directors, it is my belief to look at children not just as who they are but who they can and will become. The Chester County First Steps Board of Directors are committed to empowering our community to work together to make a difference in the life of every child. It is our goal to work collaboratively with our local community and longstanding partners to ensure that all children start school healthy and prepared to reach their highest potential. We are committed to collective efficacy because we know firsthand when people come together for a common cause it’s a powerful thing. In order to provide continuous support and resources for the families in Chester County, we are focused on our purpose and not seeking achievements but significance. Chester community, and it is my desire to strengthen & build upon the foundation already established.

OUR MISSION
PARENTING EARLY CARE & EDUCATION PROGRAMS Nurturing Parenting Designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices.
