Ms Lyn Lee Signifying love and passion, chocolates are often likened to a surprise, an indulgence, and a sign of affection. For Ms Lyn Lee, she channeled hard work into her heart’s work, embarking on an adventure to create the perfect chocolate cake while still working full time as a lawyer in 1998. This passion led her to start Awfully Chocolate, the famed local cake shop that today flies the Singapore flag high. With her determination, vision and resilience, the small group has grown into a diverse and committed team. She now owns boutiques, cafes and restaurants in Singapore and franchises in China, including The Awfully Chocolate Bakery & Cafe flagship restaurant and Sinpopo Brand. During her time in SCGS, Ms Lee nutured friendships that have endured till today. SCGS was also where she learned to navigate relationships, work pressure and life lessons under the wonderful guidance of thoughtful, committed teachers and staff. As an advocate for youths, Ms Lee has always engaged part-timers to be part of the Awfully Chocolate DNA since day one. Lyn is unwavering in her support for young individuals, and often urges them to wholeheartedly embrace the myriad of experiences that life has to offer.

Best Class Award The Best Class Award is presented to the most outstanding and well-rounded class of the level, in recognition of their impressive overall discipline and conduct, their impact on the community as well as their achievements in the various inter-class competitions.

Secondary 4 Sincerity Just as their class motto promises, Secondary 4 Sincerity (4SY) truly “stole the hearts” of all around them for their outstanding achievements, strong integrity and steadfast contributions as a class to the school. Individually brilliant, the 28 individuals of 4SY shone even brighter as they worked together towards common goals. Ambitious and able, they set high targets for themselves and worked consistently to achieve them. When it came to the annual Spirit of the Class Inter-Class Cheer Competition, the class and PE representatives started preparing as early as January, with the class faithfully turning up for every recess and after-school practice. This allowed 4SY to clinch the top position in 2022 and runners-up in 2023. This spirit of excellence remained undimmed in all other areas of school life, regardless of whether it pertained to academics, co-curricular activities or Values in Action activities. 4SY is always sincere in their interactions with each other and the wider community, and courageous to use their voice in their respective areas of leadership. Their generosity of spirit was evident when they engaged in the Service Learning Carnival in 2022, and conducted a food drive for Food Bank Singapore in 2023. Many members also continued to render their service to the school even after their end-of-year examinations, by serving as befrienders to Primary 6 juniors and introducing them to secondary school life. For their exemplary attitude, strong work ethic and heartfelt contributions, Singapore Chinese Girls’ School is proud to present Secondary 4 Sincerity with the Best Class Award of 2023. 14
