Celebrating Our 2016 - 2017 Successes
Academic Successes The Lower School Chess Club is ranked 1st in East Texas. Upper School Debate is in the top 13% of all programs in the nation, in the past twelve years thirty students have qualified for the National Tournament. Two Odyssey of the Mind teams represented East Texas at State and one advanced to the World Finals at Michigan State University. Thirty-five 1st - 8th grade students qualified to represent All Saints at the State PSIA Meet. Sixteen advanced placement courses and three new courses were offered in Upper School for the 2016 - 2017 academic year, with plans for twelve new courses in 2017 - 2018. The senior AP literature class completed a thesis program where they spent a year researching their topics, attending committee meetings, and writing their thesis before defending them in May. Fifty 5th - 7th grade students qualified for Duke TIP. In the last fifteen years, sixty-eight All Saints students have been named National Merit Scholars.

Fine Arts Successes Three Upper School art students advanced to State VASE Art Championship, and three Upper School choir students were selected for All-State Choir. Upper School Drumline placed 4th at the TAPPS Drumline Championship. Fifteen art students received Superior ratings at VASE Art contest. Four Upper School theater students were named TAPPS One Act Play All Star Cast Members. Twenty-eight Upper School students represented All Saints in the ISAS Arts Festival at Casady School in Oklahoma City. Five band students were chosen for the All Region Band. Twenty-three choir students were selected for the All Region choir. Ten students received TAPPS Art awards ranging from 1st place to Honorable Mention. Twenty 1st division ratings at TAPPS competitions from both Upper School band and choir students. Upper School choir placed 2nd at the State TAPPS Vocal Music Competition.

Spiritual Successes For 12 years, Upper School students and faculty have traveled across the nation working with various organizations for their Summer Mission Trip. Thirty bookcases were painted by 6th graders and donated to the St. Paul’s Children’s Foundation. Our Upper School students have completed over 11,000 community service hours over the last four years. Seventy bowls, made by 5th and 6th graders, were auctioned off to raise over $500 for PATH. The All Saints community welcomes families of all faiths; all our students are celebrated as children of God. Our Fellowship of Christian Athletes club hosted the Northeast Texas FCA Heart of a Champion Tailgate on campus welcoming over 700 athletes. We live our Episcopal identity through five habits of heart and mind: We love, We worship, We welcome, We serve, We question.

Athletic Successes Boys doubles won the tennis TAPPS 4A State Championship with the boys team finishing State Runner-up. The girls doubles advanced to the tennis state finals leading the girls team to finish 3rd at State. Seventy-one athletes received All-District honors, seventeen were named All-State, and twenty-two earned Academic All-State recognition. Varsity boys basketball won their third straight district championship and advanced to the State Final Four for the third time in four years. Eighteen student-athletes have committed or signed scholarships to play at the collegiate level over the past five years. The 6th - 8th grade tennis team won the TAPSAC conference tournament. A boy and girl golfer placed in the top 20 at the TAPPS State Tournament.

Graduate Successes The Office of College Advising helps all Upper School students find their best college fit by hosting application workshops for seniors, taking freshmen and juniors on extended college visits, and bringing in college Admission Officers for mock application review workshops for sophomores and their parents. The Class of 2017, graduating class with 52 students, has been awarded over $5 million in merit based college scholarships. The seniors were accepted to over 79 of the best colleges and universities from coast to coast including the University of Texas, New York University, California Polytechnic State University, Sewanee, Emory University, and University of Miami. In the Class of 2017, there are 25 Alpha and Omega students - those who have attended All Saints since the 1st grade or before. Five seniors were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, with two named National Merit Finalists.
