My process had ups and downs which is normal for any project. I realized that I was rushing through everything with a close deadline, which caused me to print the wrong stuff. For instance, I printed a booklet that was way smaller than the actual size, so I spent my time figuring out the right way. I felt guilty for killing trees because I had printing errors many times.

On the bright side, I enjoyed researching my topic of the book which has taught me lots of interesting things. After everything transferred to online because of COVID-19, I continued my orginial popup plan to keep myself busy at staying home. Doing popup elements can be tough but terrific because it is a nice way to force myself to design in 3D instead of a 2D flat document.

If I had more time, I would work on my research more to expand the topic of the food culture, such as countries that I haven’t included in my book. Also, I would refine further in some spreads.

I’m pretty satisfied with how my project turned out at the end of the senior year.
