Getting Ready to Go Out
On the rare occasion that I don’t have any work or homework and I get to go out, I always like to dress up. Sometimes I find myself feeling awkward at large social gatherings, and in those cases, I actually prefer getting ready for the event than the actual event itself. The couple of hours where I am slowly getting ready, I get to be alone and in peace. Sometimes music plays softly in the background while I get all my necessary products set up. Since my eyes are constantly glued to a screen, this is the one time where I get to relax for a second. I can slowly pick out clothes that I want to wear, accessories I can mix and match, and apply my makeup too. If I’m not in a hurry, I can be more precise with my makeup application and it’ll feel like I’m painting on a canvas. The entire process is therapeutic in it’s own way. Sometimes I don’t look forward to an event itself, rather I look forward to this small moment where I get to be alone and get ready.
