POLICIES & LOCATIONS REFUND POLICY Lecture and Unlimited Attendance Courses A tuition refund, less a $35 cancellation fee per participant for each lecture course, will be issued. No refunds will be issued within 48 hours prior to the starting date of the lecture/course. Notice of withdrawal/cancellation of your registration must be provided in writing for a refund to be processed. Limited Enrolment Courses A $200 cancellation and/or transfer fee per participant will be deducted unless otherwise specified during course registration. Refunds for limited attendance courses will be made only if notice of cancellation is given in writing at least three weeks prior to the course start date. Refunds will not be issued once registration is confirmed and course material, if any, has been mailed out, or after the start date of the course. These refund policies apply in general, but are superseded by any course-specific policies which are in effect and specified at the time of registration. Dr. James Yacyshyn obtained his B.Sc. and DDS from the University of Alberta and completed a Masters Applied Science Engineering from the University of Toronto. With a background in health technology and Informatics, Dr. James Yacyshyn joined the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry as an Assistant Clinical Professor in 2001. He was later appointed Director of Continuing Dental Education in 2002.
The Fall 2022 program roster aims to provide practical insight and theoretical knowledge to facilitate growth through quality education and flexible programming.
As Director of Continuing Dental Education, Dr. Yacyshyn has developed and facilitated numerous educational programs spanning various topics for licensed Dentists, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, and allied health participants across Alberta, nationally, and internationally. Additionally, through CDE’s clinical programs, we have provided care for numerous patients in need over the years. Dr. Cable is a board-certified specialist in Prosthodontics (Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada) - with advanced training in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. She has taught at the University of Alberta since 2001 in the areas of implant dentistry, restorative dentistry, business applications and peer mentorship. Her research interests focus on functional rehabilitation of patients with knowledge translation impact in successful clinical, academic and outcome-based environments.

He completed two years of General Surgery training and the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh in 2001. Dr. Lalh received his Fellowship status from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 2002.

Dr. Charkhandeh, BMedSc, DDS is a general dentist who received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree and Bachelor of Medical Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada. He then furthered his education and training by completing a research fellowship in “Sleep and Dental Sleep Medicine” at the University of Antwerp Hospital (UZA) in Antwerp, Belgium, where he is currently working on his Ph.D. thesis in sleep medicine.

Dr. Major holds an academic appointment with the University of Alberta as an active researcher in pediatric sleep and serves as co-president of the Alberta Dental Sleep Medicine study club. Clinically he practices at Verve Orthodontics and The Snore Centre, where he serves as clinical director of pediatrics in Canada’s first community-based, multi-disciplinary dental sleep medicine clinic.
