Dear Parents/Guardians, The Friends of St Ann’s I am writing to inform you of the success of the recent fund raising events organised by The Friends of St Ann’s: Coffee Afternoon A coffee and cake afternoon was held in school before half term. Many thanks to everyone involved in organising this event and to everyone who helped out on the day. A total of £185.00 was raised for The Friends of St Ann’s. Zumbathon A sponsored ‘Zumbathon’ was held in the school on Friday 25th October, where children, parents and staff took part. Everyone had a fantastic time and in the process we raised an amazing £550.00 for The Friends of St Ann’s. I would like to thank everyone who helped on the day, with particular thanks to Stephanie Green and Michelle Calame who organised the day brilliantly! Tea towels The children throughout the school worked hard in producing fantastic class tea-towels. We have received all the orders now and they will be back in school in time for Christmas. Over 450 tea towels were ordered which means in total £700 was raised for The Friends of St Ann’s. I would like to thank Jayne Lawlor, Stephanie Green, Lysa Corbishley and Michelle Calame for all their help. The Harvest Festival Many thanks to the children in Key Stage 1 who brought in items of food for Cornerstone. The children in Key Stage 2 brought in items of food in support of Stretford Foodbank. A total of 92 kg of food was collected for Stretford Foodbank. The Typhoon Haiyan Appeal I would like to thank the children and parents in Key Stage 2 who have raised £70 for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal. Operation Christmas Child I would like to thank everyone who brought shoe boxes into school. Between St Ann’s church and the school a total of 122 boxes were collected in support of Operation Christmas Child. Yours sincerely, Mr J O’Brien Headteacher
