Firstly, a huge thank you to those families and children who attended the Remembrance Service in Southport on Sunday 10th of November. Our children were simply amazing, demonstrating maturity & respect throughout the service.

We have enjoyed another jam-packed week here at Churchtown Primary School. We have been supporting AntiBullying week by completing a range of curriculum-linked activities and, on Tuesday, showing our support by wearing our odd socks! We held our first parents’ evening of the year on Wednesday and it was lovely to see so many families in school – thank you for your continued support. Today we have been raising awareness and fundraising for Children in Need, thank you for your donations. During the day, we were even lucky enough to have a special guest, in the form of Pudsey himself, visit some of the classes in school.

Have a wonderful weekend, Mr Miller.

LOVE OF LEARNING

This half term, the Value that Churchtown is developing is Love of Learning. At the end of the half term, Value Champions will be nominated for each class.

SHOEBOX APPEAL 2024

Thank you to all who have ordered a shoebox. The boxes and a letter of guidance have now been given to your child. These can come back at any time but please can they be returned by Wednesday 4th December 2024 so they can be checked and sent by Friday 6th December 2024.

Since Brexit, there have been a few issues with border controls when taking the boxes to their destinations, so the organisers have issued a few guidelines to help get over these issues. Please look at the guidance closely.

They are also no longer asking for boxes aimed at babies as there is a reducing demand for them. Please choose a box from aged 4 and over.

If you still wish to take part, you still can! Please ask for a letter from the office.

Please click here to access them.

Thank you so much for your support!

Butterflies Holiday Club

Following on from our first holiday club during the October half term, as an in-house service, we are interested to find out your views and feedback. The survey is being shared with all parents who accessed the holiday club for their child/ren.

If your child/ren attended the October half term holiday club, could you kindly click on the link below and complete the form.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this.

Please click here to access a copy of the letter that has today been shared with parents/carers in relation to the school’s ‘evacuation’ and ‘invacuation’ procedures, via the ParentApp. This was scheduled to be sent out next week, however given the evacuation (a false alarm due to an activated sensor) that took place today, we wanted to ensure this communication is sent out to all families to outline our practice going forward.

On Friday 6th December, all children will be taking part in the School Games National Santa Dash!

On this day, we are inviting all children to bring in their Santa Hat or Christmas Hat (if you have one) and complete the Daily Mile with their classmates. It will be happening in lots of schools across Sefton on this day and is going to be a great way to exercise and get into the Christmas spirit! Each class/year group will be allotted a time slot of 15 mins.

All the children in school today received a lovely surprise – a visit from Pudsey Bear!

Here is a photo of Pudsey visiting the classrooms as he walked around school meeting the children.

Thank you Pudsey for visiting Churchtown Primary School!

This week, a group of children were selected to represent Churchtown Primary School at the School Games Ten Pin Bowling event. A fantastic time was had by all but a special mention must go to Archie who won both games and Nikita who, after leading for most of the time, came a very close second. Well done to you all!

Churchtown have had a busy week supporting this year’s AntiBullying Theme. All year groups enjoyed wearing odd socks for the day on Tuesday as you can see. Children have also enjoyed assemblies linked to the theme and other activities including watching a live video by CBBC and ‘Hacker T Dog’, where the children learnt about how to play fairly.

Outstanding balances on ParentPay

Please ensure that all ParentPay accounts are topped up prior to using our wraparound care facilities, as well as Nursery and lunch payments. Please check if there are any payments required for school trips too. You will be contacted if you have an outstanding debt on your ParentPay account. If your child’s lunch debt exceeds £20, then you will be contacted and asked to provide a packed lunch for your child each day until the debt is repaid.

If you are struggling with the re-payments, please contact our school office.
