Daven Primary School is an inclusive academy that highly values each member of our community and is built on mutual respect.
We are proud of our values of ‘Brave, Kind and Curious’ - these values are intertwined throughout our everyday school life. We intend to prepare our children both socially and academically so that when they leave us, they have a lifelong love of learning and take our shared values into the wider world.
The rst day at primary school is arguably the beginning of the most important stage in a child’s life: we recognise this and at Daven Primary School we endeavour to make the rst days, and every day of your child’s education matter. Every single minute counts so we ensure that our curriculum and school day allows for your child to develop the skills and knowledge they need to be successful.
We aim for our pupils to become con dent in everything they do and to be the best version of themselves. The belief that anything is possible is fundamental to our school vision. We want to empower the pupils of Daven to take on the world; we want our pupils to believe they can accept any challenge; and that sometimes, the only way to do this is to take risks.
I look forward to meeting you soon and sharing all that Daven Primary School has to o er.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to Daven Primary School and The Learning Partnership. We are a diverse, multi-academy trust delivering excellent educational provision for pupils in primary and secondary schools across the North West. We have 15 schools in Cheshire and West Sta ordshire, including Black Firs Primary School and Congleton High School.
Daven Primary School is strengthened by the additional support we provide as a trust. We work closely with the school, providing help with the aim to e ect greater change for Daven pupils and the wider Congleton community. We are ambitious about the future of the school and passionate about ensuring young people have access to the very best opportunities and life chances. We believe we have the knowledge and skills to make this a reality for Daven pupils and those in all our schools.

Our curriculum is underpinned by the National Curriculum, which sets out the programmes of study that our pupils cover. However, through the range of personal development opportunities, pupils of Daven have the opportunity to also develop special skills, talents and interests.
We have designed our curriculum so that each term and year build upon one another. Pupils have opportunities to recall previous knowledge, make connections, develop uency and take their understanding to a deeper level.
Bring the wider world to life through exciting opportunities in school and beyond
A mastery approach: Knowledge checks, recall and retrieval
Develop a sense of awe and wonder about the world in which our children live
Explicitly teach children to talk through talk, using accurate and subject-speci c vocabulary
2 3 A mastery approach: coherent and sequentially planned
A mastery approach: each lesson builds on prior learning
Teach children the skills and knowledge needed to be successful
We are always nding new ways to ensure our learning environment is calm, purposeful and a space where children can thrive.
Therapeutic Classroom
Our Year 5 classroom is a beautiful space; we have adopted a brand-new approach that rede ned the traditional classroom set up. This therapeutic classroom is a welcoming, safe, inviting environment that cultivates learning through its design. Within the classroom are many calm spaces and we have thought carefully about the lighting, comfort, accessibility, inclusivity and connective learning.
Library
Running through the veins of the school, you will nd our library and non- ction reading stations linked to the areas of the curriculum. Reading is a fundamental skill that can open many doors for children as they progress through education. We want pupils of Daven to have a love for reading so providing a range of interesting books, and comfortable spaces to read, is paramount to us.
Daven pupils bene t from the amazing outdoor spaces on our school grounds. We also have fantastic play equipment and a vast range of sporting activities available for playtimes.
Forest School
We don’t need to venture far to explore wildlife as we have an exceptional forest school area on site. This corner of woodland provides time and space for children to appreciate the awe and wonder of the outdoors – they have the freedom to explore this space all year round, in all weathers. The forest school area develops life-long skills too; our children learn how to problem solve, be creative, work together and develop independence skills.
Thanks to our links to Chester Zoo and the Wildlife Connections Project, as well as our own eco-ambassadors and gardening club, the forest school area and other green spaces are becoming increasingly wildlife friendly. We want conservation to ‘start at home’ so creating spaces for wildlife to thrive is important for us to play our part in creating a sustainable future.
At Daven Primary School, pupils are expected to wear their uniform - this re ects their pride in being part of our school community. Parents and carers have an important part to play in ensuring that their child arrives each day in full uniform. We are grateful for the support and understanding of all families, in helping our children take pride in their uniform. For more information, please visit our website.
Our admission number is up to 30. Parents wishing to apply for a place in Reception should ll in an online Cheshire East admissions form by the deadline. We hold open events for parents and children, where they have the opportunity to meet the sta and see the Reception area.
Parents of children wishing to join the school within the academic year are asked to come and see the school rst. Following this, the in-year transfer application can be made via the Cheshire East website.
