Love Your Year 6s: Enterprise Event:
The package of enrichment for each year’s Year 6 cohort of leavers is established and the bar is high: Hoodies, independent projects, pool party, Domino’s & Wicksteed Park! The Year 6s try to fund as much of this as they can – hence Enterprise events. On this one, there may even be an opportunity to ‘sponge Mr Abbs!’
Friday 14th February 2025. After school, in the Hall, and on the KS2 playground!
See flyers below. Any pre-loved books & games you can donate before Friday for the Year 6s to sell? Please bring them to the office.
Parents of Year 6s: do you give permission for your Year 6 to stay and help Mrs Matthews in the Hall/at this event? Please call the school office and confirm.
Whole-School Trip: The Beach
If we were to go on a whole-school trip, where would you like to go, children? Beach & Zoo were shortlisted as the top two suggestions during Class Council discussions, with the majority of pupils subsequently voting for the beach.
It’s booked! Monday 19th May 2025.
All within the school day. By the time we’re there (Old Hunstanton), a few hours to frolic in the sun (fingers crossed); splash a bit by the ocean’s edge; eat lunch and play in the sand before returning to school,
Details to follow over coming weeks.
Rest assured, this trip will be handsomely planned, risk assessed and staffed.
Pre-booking school dinners in Arbor and Reporting Absences in Arbor
This is just a reminder that you can pre-book school dinners in Arbor for your child. This can be especially helpful if your child will be missing morning registration for a medical appointment, for example.
Please remember to report your child’s absence in the Arbor App
Lunchtime: Loom Bands
The children voted. They’re back – not every day, though!
Children can take home what they’ve made, but mustn’t wear them in school (after lunch) so as to not distract learning.

Antony Highlights:
The children in Antony Class have been inspired this week by the story Aliens Love Underpants. They have drawn and written about the planet the aliens could live on, as well as inventing a way to check that there aren’t any aliens lurking in their underpants! There was also some great problemsolving on display as the children worked together to construct a washing line and hang out the washing – luckily, no aliens in sight. The children consolidated their knowledge of number bonds, particularly ways that 5 is composed, through the rhyme Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer, accurately working out how many had flown away and how many were left in the spaceship.
Wenzel Highlights:
In Wenzel class, Year 2 have been busy exploring the connection between the 5 and 10 times tables, spotting patterns to help with quick recall. Meanwhile, Year 1 have been investigating how to split a whole into parts in different ways, deepening their understanding of number bonds. Great mathematical thinking all around!
Larwood Highlights:
What an incredible week we have had in Larwood Class! Firstly, the children have conducted themselves brilliantly in assessment week, trying their hardest and showing off what they have learned so far this year; excellent resilience and reflection from them all.
Secondly, we have finished our novel Podkin One Ear, by our class author Kieran Larwood. We have fallen in love with Podkin and his crew, and so enjoyed finding out the incredible twist of the bard at the end of the story! We've already had requests for more copies in the library!
And to top off this week, we have also had the most incredible class trip to Cambridge! We Toured the gorgeous Cambridge Central Mosque, which links to our learning in RE, as well as engaging with artefacts from the Egyptian, Roman and Greek exhibits at the Fitzwilliam Museum. The children represented Earith Primary School brilliantly, asking phenomenal questions and being respectful to members of the public. Well done Larwood.
Rauf Highlights:
This week in art, children have been drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of West African art, specifically the Bamana culture of Mali. Using their knowledge of Malian headdresses, they designed, crafted and decorated stunning insect sculptures in this distinctive style. Their finished artwork showed an exceptional level of detail.
