Welcome to Essential Looks: Love in Full Colour.

At Schwarzkopf Professional, our mission is to reinvent hair and do it together, with you. Innovation is a key part of our DNA and we hope to inspire and motivate our hairdressers in Australia and New Zealand to create new styles and dive deeper into the Schwarzkopf Professional ranges. We do it together, with a true passion for hair.

Editors’ Letter

“Welcome to the Essential Looks ANZ: Love in Full Colour. We are excited to continue our local collaboration with Schwarzkopf Professional Australia and New Zealand. This time, we have partnered to celebrate both upcoming bridal trends, and the importance of sustainability by pairing our Romance Was Born Forever collection with the relaunch of IGORA Royal.

When people think of Romance Was Born, they think of intense rich colours. Colour is at the core of everything we do as a business. It’s how we’ve made our name. It’s therefore fitting that we’ve collaborated with Schwarzkopf Professional, who also hold colour as an integral part of their world.

We have loved the synergy in this collaboration. Our collection, Romance Was Born Forever, has been crafted almost entirely from RWB dead stock and preloved vintage pieces. We’ve created a treasure trove filled with doilies, lace and sequins, and repurposed discarded wedding dresses that are rich in memories to bring out a new-age bridal collection. We love to watch the models change hair colour, dress up, and transform. We continue to push boundaries and hope to inspire.”

Letter From Schwarzkopf Pro

This year, we brought a new twist on the ANZ Essential Looks, bringing you the first-ever bridal edition: Love in Full Colour. Working with a talented group of creatives, we reveal the upcoming bridal trends for 2021-22, infused with incredible pieces from Romance Was Born.

Working with National Ambassador Dee Parker Attwood, Guest Artists Natalie Anne and David Wieselmann, Guest Colourists Dylan Hooper and Cassie Kavalieros, and local ASK Educators Chrissie Biesiek and Olivera Cirillo, we have identified four bridal trends that marry nostalgia, inspiration and newness; Modern Nostalgia, Floral Wonderland, Magical Whimsy and Ethereal Romance.

Once again, we are thrilled to partner with fashion leaders Romance Was Born, to bring to you the much-anticipated Essential Looks: Love in Full Colour. We celebrate the power of collaborations – creatively greater than the sum of their parts, by bringing together the fashion label with our largest colour brand; IGORA Royal.

With 143 beautiful shades and some of the world’s most exciting formulas, this edition of Essential Looks you will see an even deeper focus on colour.

As we continue to pave our way through the global pandemic, change is everywhere. We’ve used this time to listen, to help support our hairdresser community and to celebrate the incredible innovation that keeps our industry strong.

We continue to be agile, pivoting the way we deliver inspiration and education by sharing even more through digital channels. We continue to adapt, to grow in resilience, and above all – to remain passionate about our craft.

We have brought a contemporary twist on the defining decade of the 80s – passing a nod to the past with Fullhouse-inspired styles that keep an eye to the future – pairing nostalgia for big blowouts with an elegance revised for today.

Our second chapter turns to a quirky aesthetic that modernises and reinvents the longestablished floral wedding hair styles, for the future.

Our third chapter embraces grace and sophistication, celebrating diverse textures and the effortless, soft femininity that pairs perfectly with naturally undone elegance.

Finally, we redefine the ‘traditional bride,’ bringing inspiring looks born from that soft-focus Victoriana that always comes to fashion in moments of challenge and change.

Our Guest Artists and Colourists dive into step-by-step tutorials on how to recreate each colour and look in-salon, to help futureproof your skills and expertise and to inspire you in creating looks that work tomorrow.
