About Safety Net Safety Net is an independent charity which was established in December 2004. Prior to that Safety Net was managed by the National Children’s Society. The aim of the project is to work together with organisations, community groups, parents and children to promote children’s safety and to prevent abuse. The principal methods of working are through community education, awareness raising and training and by working in partnership with other agencies and groups to establish child safety systems, policy and practice. 5.

Accountability The Team Administrator reports to and is line managed by the Manager of the Children, Young People and Families Team. The post-holder also needs to work co-operatively with the other members of the Safety Net Team.

Main Purpose of Job (a)
To provide administrative support to the Manager and project workers in the Children, Young People and Families Team. The team deliver a variety of projects, interventions and support to children, young people and families in partnership with local schools.
Key Tasks Administration
To be responsible for the administrative and clerical work of the Project, including answering phone calls, general administration, information systems, word processing and other work as may be appropriate when required to ensure the smooth running of the project.
To be responsible, for inputting team data into our Lamplight database system, keeping it up to date and producing reports for the Team Manager and team members as required for evaluation and funding purposes.
To take a lead on ensuring that there are good systems in place for storing information digitally and in paper format.
To provide administrative support to the staff team as agreed and required.
To arrange where necessary and attend, team meetings, project meetings, partnership meetings and to provide minute taking support where necessary.
General Tasks
To attend Safety Net planning and team meetings.
To liaise appropriately with other members of the Safety Net Team.

To ensure that child safety and protection is central to all work including working to Safety Net Child Protection policies and procedures.

Working Conditions Normal working hours are 10 hours per week (some hours are required on a Monday or Friday). The office base will be at our Emmaus Offices in Portslade. The post holder will sometimes be required to work out side of these hours. The post holder will work with some independence and autonomy.
