Owner Jeff Cauley oversees the business that has grown from a former GM dealership to full independent dealership and performance shop. "We service and sell all makes of models of cars," he explained. "From everyday pre-owned vehicles to performance sports cars, and we have full service and repair capabilities." If your current vehicle needs a little something and you don't need the cost of getting a brand new one, add some Cauley performance products to "kick things up a notch." You'll find Edelbrock, Corsa Exhaust, K & N Intakes, Hurst Shifters, Hawk Brakes, Hyper Coil Springs and a whole lot more to "energize" your current set of wheels. From top to bottom, inside and out, accessorize and fine-tune your vehicle.

And if you've got to have a cool toy and cars are your first love, check out Cauley's line of Traxxas R/C models. They also offer a best price guarantee so you know you are walking away with a great deal. "We also have plans for a parts counter, an outdoor dirt track and an outdoor asphalt track to run Traxxas vehicles on," he said. "It's a fun outlet for our customers and we have a lot of fun with them, too." In the "bigger car" showroom, you'll find high-end pre-owned vehicles with names such as Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes, and BMW. You'll also find a vast selection of GM pre-owned vehicles from Cadillacs to Chevrolets, and more specifically Camaros and Corvettes. Each one of these amazing vehicles is a replica of the same FireBreather that you will find on the big screen. All 50 come in gloss black with unique tattoos on the front and rear fascias that display the serial number of the production build. The 50 FireBreathers are going fast so be sure to get in line. WATERFORD AMBULATORY CARE CENTER 1305 N. Oakland Blvd., Waterford 248-666-9000

Waterford Emergency Center became an Urgent Care facility on April 1, 2001, and changed its name back to WACC (Waterford Ambulatory Care Center). The new Urgent Care hours will be Monday-Sunday, 7 a.m.-11 p.m. for walkin services. WACC is owned and operated by Doctors' Hospital of Michigan based in Pontiac, and the Urgent Care Director is DHM's Chief of Staff, Ray Breitenbach, M.D. The change from an emergency center to a designated "Urgent Care" facility usually benefits the patient in the form of lower co-pays from their health insurance providers if you can safely choose an Urgent Care center over an Emergency Center.

•G.E. •Kinetico •McClean

•Reynolds •Sears •Sunshine

In addition to Urgent Care, WACC will continue providing physical therapy, sports physicals, vaccinations, radiology (X-Rays, Mammograms, Bone Density Testing), lab services, and occupational medicine services for employers (drug screenings, pre-hire testing, etc.). WACC also is home to North Oakland ASC Surgical Center specializing in endoscopy procedures. There is often confusion about the differences between an Urgent Care facility and an Emergency Center, and when to choose an EC over an Urgent Care. Urgent Care Centers are suited for patients who need treatment for less serious conditions like colds, infections, minor scrapes and cuts, and sprains. Doctors' Hospital of Michigan still retains its 24-hour Emergency Center in Pontiac at 461 W. Huron Street (on the corner of Seminole Street and W. Huron Street) for more serious emergencies. ❏

BESTSOURCE CREDIT UNION 269 N. Telegraph, Suite B, Waterford 248-683-4300

Back in 1954, employees of the J.L. Hudson Company thought it was a good idea to help take care of each other and form a credit union. And for the next 50 years they did just that. But in 2004, the members decided to reach out beyond the company's employee population and share their great credit union with others. After receiving a community charter that opened up its membership, the credit union changed its name and offered its services to anyone who lives, works or worships within Oakland County. With its mission clearly stated — "To improve members' financial lives" — the renamed BestSource Credit Union continued to provide excellent financial services to its ever-growing roster of members. John Normandeau, CEO, explains that the institution is an important part of the community. "Our focus is to be involved in the community and be a good partner and

BestSource Credit Union board members and President/CEO John Normandeau are proud of the 2011 Community Service Award presented to BestSource at the recent Waterford Township Business Recognition Breakfast. citizen," Normandeau said. "We help schools and the chamber of commerce and other charitable organizations that tie to our mission and vision." BestSource Credit Union's involvement in the community was recently recognized by Waterford Township, the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Waterford Cultural Council with the 2011 Community Service Award presented at the annual Waterford Township Business Recognition Breakfast.

"The staff and Board of Directors at BestSource Credit Union are extremely proud of this award," Normandeau said. "We are committed to bettering the communities in which we serve and this award recognizes those efforts." "We are looking to help our members get ahead financially," said Normandeau. "In these difficult times, we are working with our members, making them car loans, helping them set up saving programs and helping them increase their credit score."

And the employees at BestSource aren't looking to push services on unwilling members, but craft and create financial solutions that make sense to each one. "When a member calls in or walks into one of our branches, we are going to ask them questions, so perhaps we can help them in a way they haven't thought of before," Normandeau said. "We spend time with our members and we help them by asking questions in a non-threatening way." The full-service credit union offers a multitude of member services that include typical savings accounts, money markets, IRAs, checking, CDs, and loans for autos, home mortgages, equity loans and credit cards. The credit union also offers business accounts for checking and savings. The credit union has branch offices in Waterford at 6655 Highland and in West Bloomfield at 7800 Pontiac Trail. Credit unions differ from banks and other financial institutions in that the credit union members are also the owners. The National Credit Union Association federally insures each of the savings accounts available through BestSource up to $250,000. Your money is safe and secure. To learn more about BestSource Credit Union, log onto bestsourcecu.org or check them out in person at either branch. You can also call them at 800-666-4500. ❏

MILFORD MONTESSORI SCHOOL 2700 E. Commerce, Milford 248-685-7600 Milford Montessori School is celebrating 36 years of educating children from three months to 12 years in Oakland County. Two years ago we launched our Spanish Immersion Infant/Toddler Programs, making us the only recognized "Montessori Children's House" to serve this community from infancy through sixthgrade. We remain dedicated to meeting the needs of our families and community. This year we will be expanding our elementary curriculum! While other schools are facing larger teacher/student ratios and program cutbacks, we remain dedicated to keeping a 1:8 ratio, which allows more time for a wider variety of subject matter. In addition to the core curriculum, we are preparing them for a challenging future through more enrichment programs. These

Milford Montessori School has expanded its curriculum for elementary students. programs include Chinese, more science programs, and a wider variety of physical education classes such as martial arts, archery, YMCA, yoga and Tai Chi. The beauty of these new programs is they were the current elementary children's own ideas. They are always inspiring us to do more. As their horizons expand, so do ours. And it's catching! Their strong sense of community toward the younger children has inspired programs and presentations to the other classrooms, such as their Citizenship Presentations from the core Peace

Curriculum, incubating and raising chickens, and cooking new recipes for lunch from their garden harvest. After spending a morning in our elementary, a parent (who is a middle school teacher) exclaimed, "Now I know how you accomplish so much — the kids do all the work!" A true Montessori classroom is self-sustaining at this level. They set their academic goals with the teacher on a weekly basis, and work independently to meet those goals. The multi-age classroom operates as a small community of individual

learners who willingly help each other when needed. That's the ultimate goal of education. To create leaders with a strong sense of community who know how to learn and problem solve. "At the pre-school level, we cultivate the child's natural curiosity and desire to learn," says Director Regina Boffi. "We provide a culturally rich environment equipped with the sequential Montessori materials in addition to multiple 'hands-on' exercises. In any one classroom, you may observe children simultaneously washing dishes, exploring geometry, working a puzzle map, or having a phonics lesson. In the prepared environment they are joyfully doing their 'work' independently while socializing with each other. The Montessori Philosophy of 'follow the child' allows the child to work at their own pace. The children are comfortable in their classrooms because they know this is a nurturing environment of mutual respect." A Montessori education "prepares children for life," and not just the next academic level. We encourage you to schedule an observation of a classroom so you can see the Montessori difference, and the difference our students are making for the future. ❏

WATERFALL JEWELERS II 340 Town Center Blvd., White Lake 248-698-1200 www.waterfalljewelers.com A successful tradition for 32 years in Oakland County — Waterfall Jewelers. Now beginning its next generation of family jewelry stores as the third generation of Browns join their parents at Waterfall. Working with the same business philosophies instilled throughout their lives — high standards, integrity and family pride — that their grandfather and parents established when the store originally opened, these lessons continue in the business today through customer service, product quality and jewelry expertise. Waterfall Jewelers II opened in White Lake in May of 2010 with Andrew Brown managing the store with his cousin, Joe Strong. The new store caters to new customers, bringing more people into the family heritage. As teenagers working after school and through the summer, these years of "learning the business" helped them develop a passion for the jewelry business. Then as college students their business skills were honed so that they could step into the shoes of their parents and grandparents in providing jewelry service to Oakland County and beyond. "We have residents that we've never had the pleasure to meet before," Andrew Brown said. "And we have familiar customers who have found their way in after moving to a different part of the county. They find this store as a more convenient location for them. Most people are familiar with the Waterfall Jewelers name." And customers who have known Waterfall for decades are finding the same exact commitment and quality as well as customer satisfaction in the third generation of ownership as they experienced with the first. "We definitely stay in touch with our roots," Brown said. "We are keeping up the family tradition and operating the same way as the Waterford store." Strong agreed, as well.

Cousins Andrew Brown (left) and Joe Strong manage Waterfall Jewelers II, which opened in White Lake Township in May of 2011.
