It’s January: snow covers the landscape and some nobles play snowball out of the castle. There are hunters with their dogs and there are some foxes in the forest. 1 February means carnival time: a tournament takes place at the castle. Knights on their horses fight with spears and servants are ready to help. Ladies look at them from the castle. A blacksmith works in his shop. 2
April is sowing time: peasants use oxen and a horse to draw the plough. In the forest dogs chase hares. Ladies go for a walk. A pilgrim rest out of the 3 village. Spring is the season for courting. In May knights and ladies meet in the gardens. There’s a banquet out of the 4 castle. June is the time for music and dancing: at court people enjoy themselves. Shepherds lead the cattle to the pasture: they milk them and 5 make butter.
It’s harvest time. In July peasants work in the fields. A knight gives a hawk to a lady. There are some storks nesting on the roof of the castle.

August is reaping time. Peasants pick up hay in the fields. Ladies go hunting with hawks. In the church the priest reads the Bible. 7 In September peasants plough again. In a field the turnips are ready and a girl picks them up. Knights go hunting with their hawks. Ladies go horse8 riding.
October is set in a vineyard: some peasants pick up grapes, some peasants squeeze the grapes, and a 9 nobleman tastes the must.
In November people go bear hunting. Nobles go horse riding. Peasants enter the city with some pigs. 10
In December people need wood for the winter: woodcutters cut down trees and carry wood into town. Some nobles go horse riding. 11
