CONSORTIUM SALERNO TRADING The Consortium Salerno Trading is formed of a group of small and medium enterprises, mainly active in the agri-food and packaging sectors. Its members come from different Italian regions: Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Molise, Lazio, Calabria and Sicily. The Province of Salerno is actively involved in the Consortium. It is represented by its president Antonio Iannone and its congressman Edmondo Cirielli. Most of the international projects are in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development. The Consortium’s main goal is to promote in the world the high quality, fine agri-food products which come from different Italian regions. The companies’ productions come with great recommendations, as all their products have quality certifications (DOC, DOP, DOCG, IGT). These apply to pasta, buffalo mozzarella, cheese, wines, organic extra-virgin olive oil, typical and organic products (mushrooms, truffles, dry freeze and semi-dry products), bases and sauces for pasta, Sicilian cakes, chocolate from Modica (IGT), coffee, fruit, organic fruit liqueurs, and limoncello. The method used by the Consortium is to facilitate contact between Italian producers and foreign buyers, in order to launch their productions onto the international markets. Consortium 8th International Workshop – Amalfi Coast – Salerno 16-21 November 2013 The 8th International Workshop organized by the consortium Salerno Trading is a yearly food and wine promotional event. This year, it will be held from the 16th to the 21st of November 2013. Buyers from all over the world, mostly from the food and wine sectors, participate to this traditional event, held in beautiful hotels near Salerno, on the Amalfitan Coast. During that international week, buyers will have the opportunity to visit the local companies and their production sites. As they talk to producers and visit their companies, foreign importers will have the opportunity to gain a perfect understanding of the local products’ history, culture, and traditions.
