COMPOSER’S NOTE This short greeting is based on the ‘Dona Nobis Pacem’ of the plainsong mass Lux et Origo, in Paschal time. My Thomas Holyoke Latin dictionary of 1677 defines manacus as ‘the circle in a dial that shows the months’ or ‘the account of the monthly motion of the moon’. P.M.D.
