Welcome to the Scott Angus Cattle Open House and Spring Online Bull Sale. I think you will agree that the Scott Angus family has put together a powerful set of Angus bulls for your consideration. As the consulting nutritionist, I strive to develop optimal nutrition and management programs to match and express the genetic potential of the cattle while giving special attention to safeguarding soundness and reproductive longevity. At Scott Angus, the mantra is “cattle should never have a bad day” and every effort is made to uphold that ideal.
NUTRITIONAL PHILOSOPHY: The nutritional treatment of breeding stock from conception to breeding can have a profound effect on their lifetime potential. Nutritional influences on future health and productivity have been traced as far back as early embryonic development; a concept termed “fetal programming”. That is why we focus not only on the nutrient requirements of the cow throughout her life cycle, but also the nutritional factors that affect gene expression of economically important traits in the developing calf. From conception to turnout, we focus on expressing the genetic potential of the cattle without compromising structural soundness and breeding performance.
BULL DEVELOPMENT: We believe in the concept of developing bulls, not finishing them. To properly develop breeding stock, we pay special attention to their energy, protein, trace mineral, and vitamin requirements. The bulls were developed on high-roughage, moderate-energy, highprotein diet. Particular attention was given to optimal vitamin and trace mineral supplementation to promote proper reproductive development and ensure reproductive longevity. We think that you will agree that our nutritional philosophy has produced an exceptional set of fertile breeding bulls that are ready to go to work for you. Buy with confidence!
What an honor it is to assist in the representation of Scott Angus Cattle in their inaugural bull sale offering! The Team at SAC is driven by an exceptional passion for the cattle and their clients, and to provide value added genetics to the industry. Their commitment to phenotype, fertility, and function is second to none. Taking a walk through the cattle, you will find the obvious commitment to foot structure, teat and udder quality, docility, and maternal presence.
Isaiah Shnurman Genetic Hedging Solutions 515-371-5065The commitment to make females, is what makes this set of bulls truly shine! They carry correct phenotype, performance, and pedigrees stacked with proven sires and dams. I couldn’t ask for a higher quality of sound, athletic, and perfect foot bulls to represent!
Thank you for your interest in our Scott Angus Cattle program. This marks our first inaugural online bull sale. This sale features natural calves out of our elite donors. These calves represent why we have chosen their mothers in our flush program, as well as ET calves out of our eminent pathfinder donor, SAV Blackcap May 7306. As I always say “the proof is in the pudding”. This is the first step for us to introduce ourselves of who we are and where our vision is leading us. Our goals in the cattle industry is a simple as this: The 5 F words: First Feet, Foundation, and Fertility = Future. After that, you can move onto phenotype, calving ease, milk and udder structure, scrotal, and disposition.
The school of hard knocks has been our key – the trials we have experienced have built our program. The journey we have went through along the way and the blessing that have been given to us is not just good fortune in the cattle business, it’s the people we’ve met – recognizing the blessings and miracles that God gives us is everything.
We invite you to come stay in our bunkhouse, tour the cattle, relax and find peace, and enjoy some fellowship.
Sincerely, Marlin Scott and family
