before it is time to deliver all the presents, and never be late again!” I will help Santa give out presents, and Santa will be all ready. Everyone will be happy. Santa was so happy, because he was never late again. The reindeer were also happy! Later, I was tired, and I was the one who had a lot of presents. I decided to share them with my sisters. I also got a new phone, it was awesome too! It is still fun delivering presents. In the end, I got sick from eating all the snow and had to go to the hospital! I got presents there too! A few months later, I felt better and the snow never made me sick again! Addie Allaman * * * If Santa’s sleigh crashed in my front yard, I would go help Santa. To start with, I would go talk to Santa and see if he likes my plan. Then, I would go get the skiis and a rope for my plan. Later, Santa and I would hook up the reindeer, and get our skis on. In the end, Santa and I got all of the presents delivered in time! Santa liked my plan so much, he said he wants to try using skis instead of a sleigh next year! Braelyn Ashmore * * * I would start with calling the block to help us fix Santa’s sleigh. To start with, I would tell my dad to get the tools now! Then, we would take a break and eat ice cream. Later, we fixed the sleigh. In the end, we got everything ready. We got a warm drink, and delivered the presents together. Andrea Ayala * * * I would turn into Santa Claus and magically create a new sleigh. I would go back in time, and save it from crashing. I would fly it to see if it worked. It did work, until it broke down. Later, we had to fix it all up again! It took 20 minutes, because we were fast at fixing it. We had

a great time. He shared cookies that he made. Santa gave me a motorcycle and many more gifts! In the end, Santa and I went together in the sleigh, and delivered the presents. Then, I went to the North Pole and played in the snow. Then Santa turned me in to an elf, and I magically made tools to fix the sleigh each year! Elijah Bennett * * * I would help get the presents to kids, by fixing the Sleigh for Santa. Yarleny Calvillo * * * I would ask Santa, “Are you ok?” I would sneak in my mom’s room, and take her phone so I can call the Magic School Bus. I would tell them “I need some help! Santa’s sleigh is wrecked and we tried to lift it up, but it will not budge! So that is why I called you. Can you pick us up in five minutes?” “Will do!” said Miss Frizzle, “but bring 60 gallons of magical school bus powder!” Then we got on the magic school bus and put the presents on the bus. Not all of the presents fit on the bus, so we hooked on a trailer, and put the rest of the presents on the trailer. “I can do that, but it will take us 30 minutes. Is that ok?” asked Miss Frizzle. “That will work” I say. Thirty minutes later. I can’t believe were done with America, Mexico, China, Japan, and Russia! At the end, we are at my house. Everybody is having hot cocoa, and I say goodbye to Santa, Miss Frizzle, and the reindeer. “Can you give me a lift, and take my sleigh on your trailer please?” asked Santa to Miss Frizzle. “Of course!” said Miss Frizzle. I finally say goodnight to Santa for the last time. This was the best night ever! Merry Christmas! Emilio Contreras * * * (continued on page seven)

4th Grade Santa is Gone Once upon a time, three days before Christmas, the Grinch kidnapped Santa Claus. Luckily, Mrs. Claus had put a tracking device in his cookie, that he ate, the day before. So we took Santa’s sleigh and Mrs. Claus said all of the reindeer’s names and then it took off. Mrs. Claus and I said, “faster” and then they went faster. We soon had to stop because the reindeer were tired and thirsty so we rented a car. Good thing I knew how to drive, but we didn’t have any money for gas, so we walked the rest of the way. When we were finally there, we acted like we were the police and knocked on the door and when the door opened there was Santa and then we took Santa back to the north pole just in time for Christmas. Santa was so happy to be back home, he invited all the elves and me to a big party before his big night of bringing presents to all the children in the world. We all ate candy canes, fudge, and egg nog and listened to Christmas music. I was so tired when I got home, I didn’t even hear Santa leave my presents for me. Brooklyn Smith * * * Santa Gets Kidnapped! Eli was at his house reading a book. He got a text from Mrs. Claus asking for help. Santa got kidnapped by the Grinch! Mrs. Claus texted. Oh no Eli texted back. Will you help me find him before Christmas, Mrs. Claus replied. Yes, we will meet tomorrow at 10:00. Eli and Mrs. Claus jumped into the sled. Where are we going first Eli asked? The Grinch’s hide out. We’re there Mrs. Claus yelled. They went in there. They found Santa. We got back to the North Pole jest before Christmas. They saved Christmas! Eli Lisenby * * *

Alan Saves Christmas Hey Alan! Santa Claus was captured by the Grinch. I’m trying to find him, but I don’t know where he is. I know the Grinch is in his cave. You can sneak into his cave and grab a chair and tie him up on it. Will you go tie him up and get Santa and take him back to the North Pole? You can use his sleigh and his 9 reindeer to take him back. Alan Madrid * * * Where is Santa? Mrs. Claus woke up and Santa wasn’t there. So she called Alex’s team. They rolled up in their Hummers. Camren, Trey and Eli got out of one and Alex, Jonovan and Ryan got out of another. They set up a base and then a swat team pulled up and Alex said the Grinch has Santa. Send Trey in with a camera and he gets in and sees the Grinch hanging Santa over a pool of lava. Trey jumps at the Grinch. The Grinch puts Trey over the lava pool with Santa. Alex’s team moves in. They handcuff the Grinch and untie Santa and Trey. When we walk out there is a rock slide that hits Trey and Camren but we had a rope and toss it down. They both grab on and get pulled up and ride back in the Hummer. Alexander Phillips * * * Saving Santa We’ll sneak in to the Grinch’s lair and put sleep pills in the guard’s water. We can get into the Grinch’s room where he keeps his keys to the jail cells. Then we dress up like the guards so we can fit in and we go to the cells to let Santa out and then we find the Grinch so we can get answers to why he took Santa. Then we tie the Grinch up and put him in the cell. And the guards too. Then finally we go to the North Pole so Santa can get ready for Christmas Eve. Matthew West * * * (See TUCKER on page 12)

Fourth Grade The 4 Musketeers Saturday, December 22nd Amarillo, Texas. “Ding, Ding, Ding, ding!!!!” 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, Christmas is close as I count on my fingers. I sit up in bed and smell omelets, no breakfast burritos, no scrambled eggs. It smells so good but what is it? No way, it’s the best breakfast ever, but I get it on the 22nd it’s traditional. I look on the Calendar, “Yipee,” it’s omelets eggs and a mix between them all. I jump out of bed ouch, ye, ooj, trying to dodge my toy cars. I run into the kitchen, DISAPPOINTMENT! I find deviled eggs on the counter. Augh. No worries says my mother, Those are for a lunch at my business. Woof! I feel in relief. I fixed some breakfast casserole. I drop to my knees, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.” I go

upstairs and pack my bag for school. Whoa, what am I doing? It’s Saturday, let’s chill. See ya Ralph. I’ll be back tonight. I got to go to work to stay out of trouble. Bang! The door closes I run down to my nerf gun stash then run to Reagans house to see if he could play. DING. DING, Hey Ralph, my cousins are here but they could play he says. Meet Ryan and Dillon, say Reagan. We all ran on the icy street across to my house. Hold on, I have to check my mail box. I look in and there’s a card that say check your phone! Is this a serial killer trying to set me up? I reach down and grabbing my phone. It says missed phone call. One message. I tap on the message head. I need your help then, 4 Dallas plane tickets showed up on the screen and said print. I pressed on it and ran for the
printer, zoomed down the stairs and 4 plane tickets laid on the tray. There’s just enough, how did they know? I reached for the tickets. I don’t know about you but let’s do it. Everybody gathers around how are we supposed to get to Dallas asked Dillon. DING. Another message popped up on my phone. Once you get to Dallas Time won’t pass and there’s a car in the garage. Said the text Dallas. Car in the garage. Time won’t pass. We all say confused. My mom took the car, I say, how is this possible? What if were not old enough for the plane. We’ll disguise I say. What if we get in trouble? Time doesn’t pass I argue. What if we crash the car? If someone needs help They’re not going to set us up with a wreckful car. I’m out of excuses say Reagan. I’m in says Reagan. I thought I saw something else in the mailbox said Raegan. Okay
then let’s go check. I’m across our yard and open up the mailbox, $500,000!! That’s not what I saw but let’s take it. Yeah. We run into the garage, Whoa! Now that’s a car. I look on the side, Bessy, it has a name. We all hopped in. Whose driving, Ryan says. Oh I’m driving, said the computer in the car. Then it drove off. We stood there amazed the whole time. We got to the sign. Exit 360 Amarillo and an arrow pointing ahead to Dallas. We were heading the right way, after driving for 4 hours we saw Dallas 10 miles and in at least 1 mile it said Airport Drive. There were huge jets going all over. American, Delta, Southwest. We pull in to a parking with hundreds of cars. We headed for the F60 looking at license plates. Whoa Arizona, New Mexico, I say. Finally, as we walk up to the main (See MUSKATEERS on page 22)

2nd Grade Santa weighed 200 pounds. He got in the sleigh, but only the reindeer got off the ground. Santa got out of his sleigh and he did sit ups and pushups. Then, he got back in his sleigh. This time the reindeer got higher, but his sleigh only went up a little bit. “Ugh,” Santa said to himself. He still weighed too much! So he ran and ran and he lost 80 more pounds! “Yay,” everyone exclaimed as Santa and his reindeer left to deliver presents. Santa now stays away from sweets! Sebastian Selfridge * * * Santa got in his sleigh two weeks before Christmas for a test run, but the sleigh didn’t go. So he stood up and looked down to his feet, but he couldn’t see his feet! He now knew he needed to lose 100 pounds. Mrs. Claus heard Santa grumbling about his weight, so she said he should eat vegetables and fruit instead of cookies and sweets. So Santa did what Mrs. Claus said and he exercised. Two weeks later, he loaded up the sleigh and hooked up the reindeer. He looked down at his feet in his shiny boots and he knew he was fit and healthy. He waved as he flew out of sight saying “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!” Ian Rodriguez * * * It was two weeks until Christmas and Santa put his hands on his belly. He was too heavy! He stopped eating sweets and pancakes with syrup. He couldn’t eat vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream. He only lost eight pounds. He was worried because it was now only one week until Christmas. He started to jog around his workshop. He finally lost the 92 pounds! He was ready for Christmas! On Christmas Eve, Santa and his reindeer were able to deliver presents. Gage Marquez * * * Santa was wobbling to his sleigh. He

tried sitting in the front seat, but he couldn’t fit! That evening he stood on his scale and he realized he was 333 pounds. Santa could hear Mrs. Claus yelling. “Yes dear,” he yelled back. “You need to lose 100 pounds to get in shape for Christmas,” she exclaimed. “No, no, no!” Santa replied. “Fine, I’m not making any more goodies!” Mrs. Claus said. Santa hung his head and marched off to the gym to get fit. He saw a lot of people with six packs and felt inspired. “I’m going to do 100 pushups and 100 sit ups!” A week went by and Santa still needed to lose 10 more pounds. He decided he needed to go back to gym. His coach told him to do 100 pushups again and 100 jumping jacks. Santa was tired, but he kept working out. Finally, it was Christmas Eve and everyone gathered around the scale. Santa stepped on and it said exactly 233 pounds! He was ready! Carlos Meza * * * If Santa had gained too much weight for his sleigh to carry him, then I think he shouldn’t eat any cookies or drink any milk. I think he should eat some fruit to help him lose 100 pounds in two weeks. Alia Wright * * * Santa stepped on the scale and he looked down. He weighed too much. He needed to lose 100 pounds in two weeks. Santa needed to eat vegetables, but he ate cookies secretly. He gained 200 pounds. “No more cookies!” said Mrs. Claus to Santa. Santa worked hard and didn’t eat anymore sweets. By the end of two weeks, he was ready for Christmas. He had lost his 100 pounds and the 200 pounds he gained from eating cookies. He got on his sleigh and waved goodbye as he left to deliver presents. Maleia Johnson * * * (continued on page 32)

I looked closely, and it was Santa! He looked worried! He knocked, and I opened the door. “Are you ok Santa?” I asked. He said his sleigh crashed, so then I came up with an idea! “Santa, how about I let you borrow our car and deliver the toys, and I’ll take care of your reindeer.” Santa thought about it. He said “Ok, your plan sounds great!” Then we just stood there for a while, that was kind of weird. I said “Let’s go inside, its cold!” So then we went inside so Santa could say hi to everybody. But instead, he said “hi” in a sad voice. So I told dad and mom what happened. Dad said it was alright. Santa went to deliver the toys. Meanwhile, my sisters took care of the reindeer.
I was in the kitchen. I grabbed my mom’s phone and called the elves because Santa gave me his phone number from the North Pole. I called the elves and told them what happened. Fourth Grade I would go get Kadence and we would go to the Grinch’s cave. We would find Santa and ask him: do you know were the key is? I asked. No, said Santa, but the Grinch is over there, he is sleeping. Ok, said Kadence, do you know how long he will sleep? She asked. Yes, said Santa, do you see the timer over there, it will go off and he will wake up. Ok. I said, do we turn off the timer so he will not wake up? I asked. Yes, said Santa. Hurry, the cage I’m in, he will blow up when he gets out of bed! said Santa. Kadence, I said, go turn off the timer. Ok, said Kadence. I will look for the key. I said. So I looked and I looked all around the cave and didn’t find the key. Maybe, I said, he has the key under his pillow? He must, said Kadence, it is nowhere else. Ok. I said, on the count of three you lift the Grinch’s head and I’ll get the key

from under the pillow. Ok, said Kadence. One, two, three! I got the key! I shouted. Let’s let Santa out. They freed Santa just in time. Camren Schmitt * * * Dear Mrs.Claus I will help you look for Santa. I think I know where he is but first I will look. I found him at the Grinch’s homes how will we get him. We’ll think of a plan to get him out. O.K. So here’s the plan you make brown-Es and put them on the doorstep then knock on the door and destruct him and I will go throw the top of the house and get Santa. Then they tried the plan apparently the Grinch is not a brown-e person so we tried another plan. So this time Mrs. Claus knocked on the door and did something I had no clue what she was doing but it worked I got Santa Claus and
helped delivered presents. HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas! Amorie Willis * * * I will go to his house and ask if I can borrow Rudolph. Good thing Rudolph has a shiny nose. He will lit the way. Santa went house to house squirming down chimneys all night long. Ava Vazquez * * * Santa can drive a jetpack to deliver presents to people’s houses. If the engine blows up he can get one from his elves. If you use a jetpack it will be faster. He can deliver presents while he eats cupcakes. Hunter Fry * * * One night I heard a big crash in my front yard. I went to see what happened. Then I saw Santa Claus and his reindeer. His sled broke and it was unfixable. So, I decided that I wanted to help. First, the reindeer used their magic to pull the house out of the ground. Then they flipped it around and put the wheels on the house. Next, I put the sack of toys in the house. When then go around and deliver the presents. After we are done he will take my house back and give me my presents. Aliyah Venegas * * * I woke up on Christmas Eve at the sound of a loud crash and I found Santa and the reindeer on my front yard. Everyone was okay, but the sleigh was a total wreck. First he can build a flying boat. Next, he will need tools to build the flying boat. We are going to call my dad for some tools to use. He’s going to need his elves to help him build the flying boat. He can use some of this parts of his sleigh and use it to build the flying boat. Then the reindeer are going to be with the presents downstairs. My dad and Santa will build the flying boat. Ernesto Rodriguez * * * I will attach Santa’s reindeer to a vehicle. The reindeer take off in the sky. They go to New York City. They run into a storm. The storm was dangerous because it was a snow storm. It was forming ice in the clouds. We go down on the highway to avoid the ice. We made it through! Now we can deliver the presents. We delivered the presents quickly. Then rushed to the North Pole. We drank hot chocolate and relaxed. CJ Marquez * * * I give Santa my private jet. I will teach him how to fly a jet. We will unload the presents and put them on the jet. Apollo Larson * * * Santa could get a trash can and use it as a sled and slide from town to town. He would but magic dust on the trash can and fly on it. The only time the magic dust worked was when he was going across the ocean. Trenton Frank * * * One night I woke up on Christmas Eve at the sound of a loud crash. I ran downstairs and out the door. I saw a man in a red suit. He was crying. It got to see who it is. It is Santa!! I ask “Why are you crying?” He said because I am stuck. I told him I have an idea. I ran in the house. I tell mom and dad what happened. They said go in your grandma’s recipes and look for hot sauce. (continued on page 19)

Fourth Grade: Tucker How I Saved Santa One day I was putting ornaments on my tree when I got a message that said “Santa has gotten kidnapped by the Grinch,” from Mrs. Claus. So I stopped what I was doing and rushed to my car and went to the North Pole. Then I heard sleigh bells and saw Mrs. Clause and the reindeer. Mrs. Clause says, “Santa needs help right now!” Then I went into Santa’s Workshop. All I saw were toys and elves wrapping presents. Then my phone got another message from Santa saying “Ho HO Ho I need help right now! If you want to know where I am I’m in a big dark room and the Grinch is running around. If you don’t help me now, the Grinch will ruin Christmas. So quickly I went looking for Santa then I heard a sound, then quickly I knew it was from the Grinch. Then I saw Santa and Christmas was saved! Veronica Catano * * * Finding Santa I will have a lot of people like Freedom, Oliva, Ryan, Trey, Kadence, Kassidy, Amelia, Ariel, Jonavon, and I. We will be in a sleigh with Santa’s reindeer so that they may be able to scent him. We will split up into groups with a reindeer and search the North Pole for any sign of Santa. The reindeer kept going and round in circles because Santa’s scent was all over the place. Unfortunately, we did not have anything of the Grinch’s for his scent. Freedom noticed something peculiar that the reindeer were doing. The reindeer were staying away from the trail that leads to the mountain cave. Freedom pointed this out to the group and we all hurried to the cave. Inside we found evidence that someone had been there. Ryan noticed two sets of tracks leading out of the cave and into the forest. Following the winding trail through

the forest, we end up back at the spot where we left the sleigh. The group and I decided to head back to the workshop. Upon getting there we saw Santa and the Grinch were hugging. As we got closer we saw that the Grinch had been crying. Santa was comforting him and telling him that he was going to be alright, and that he could help deliver the presents, because Santa was running late. Kristina Selfridge * * * Mean Old Mr. Grinch When I got that text, I text back: “Send me over with some Christmas magic!” Then, WWWHHHOOOSSSHHH!! There I was with all the elves. I ask for 1,000,000 elves. I was Lucky. 100 elves were left to work on the toys. So, me, and the elves got the sleigh and the reindeer. When we got to WhoVille. We asked every Who in Who-Ville where the Grinch’s lair is. Finally, one Who said, “just north of Who-Ville.” We got in the sleigh and got there in a flash. We found Santa! Santa said to the Grinch, “You have been naughty, but since you love rotten stuff, I will give you rotten stuff only if you get me out of this cage”. I texted Mrs. Claus: “We got SANTA back!” Maile Depperschmidt * * * Where is Santa? Once upon a time, three days from Christmas Eve, Santa was gone so Mrs. Clause texted me. She said that Santa Clause was kidnapped by the Grinch. I went to the workshop but Santa was not there, so I got on the reindeer and looked around. I found a cave with a torch, so I landed on top of the cave. I looked around and then I went into the cave. I saw a bunch of torches so I went deeper in the cave. Then I heard a voice so I went deeper. I found a door and saw Santa tied up. The Grinch was not there. He was coming back from Evil Town, so I went in and untied Santa. The Grinch came in so we
hid. We waited for the Grinch to leave. The Grinch left again for Evil Town. Me and Santa went to the sleigh and headed back to the workshop. Jaidyn Amerine * * * The Grinch is in Jail Now In the USA Mrs. Claus text, me. Here’s the text it says my husband is missing. Ok. I think the Grinch kidnapped him. I’m Ryan the chief elf. I told the others to make a Santa finder. Luckily Santa has an extra sleigh and rain deer. Their names are, Trey, Eli, Brody, Yahir, Baylor, Jackson, Alex, and Case. So we went searching for him we found him locked up in a cave. So we used bolt cutters and got Santa back on track. We put the Grinch in his own jail he was there for the rest of his life. It was Christmas Day and Mr. Claus walked in the door saying Merry Christmas. His wife got so excited. They were all back together. Ryan Latta * * * Santa’s Gone It’s December 21st, one day before my birthday, when I got a text from Mrs. Claus saying, “THE GRINCH HAS KIDNAPPED SANTA!” Later I got a text from Santa saying, “HO, HO, HO, HELP!” It’s December 22nd, my birthday! It snowed a lot and only two of my friends are coming, Veronica and Jaidyn. So we start the search for Santa. We went on a bike ride and looked around town. That night Veronica and Jaidyn stayed the night at my house. We heard a knock at the window. Then we saw a shadow of the Grinch with a bag. It’s December 23rd, I woke up to a knock at the door. So I woke Jaidyn and Veronica up. Jaidyn, Veronica, and I decided to go outside to see who was there. It was Trey and Eli, the elves. They flew us up to the North Pole. Eli told us that the Grinch is somewhere in Florida. Then Trey told us where we could sleep.
It’s December 24th, the elves have found Santa’s location. He’s somewhere in the Tower of Terror. So we flew there and saved Santa. It’s December 25th, I woke up and saw the gifts with a note on mine saying “Thank you for saving me. Merry Christmas!” Megan Trout * * * Santa’s Kidnapped One day at Santa’s workshop the Grinch came by and nobody was watching and the Grinch kidnapped Santa. So Mrs. Claus text me and asked if I could track him. I said yes. So I tracked Santa. I text Mrs. Claus and told her I found him. So I went to the Grinch’s lab and found him there. I bribed the Grinch. I said Santa will give you presents. The Grinch said, “No! I want Santa to not give my parents presents.” Santa said, “OK.” He let Santa go free, so he was able to go back to the workshop. Santa said to me, “Ok I don’t give his parents presents anyway.” Olivia Ford * * * Saving Christmas Three days before Christmas I got a text message from Mrs. Claus. It said that Santa was kidnapped. She wanted me to save him. I texted her back saying that I will. I took a flight to where the Grinch lived. I had the magic keys I got from last Christmas to unlock him. When I was there I quietly opened the door. The Grinch was not there. I unlocked Santa from the cage then we waited for the Grinch so we could lock him in the cage. When he finally came we grabbed him. Put him in the cage and locked him. Then Santa called for his sleigh. He gave me a ride home and got back to work and everything was back to normal. Trinity Cox * * * Santa Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch just three days before Christmas. Mrs. Claus sends you a text message asking for help. How will you find Santa in time to deliver presents on Christmas Eve? Bryton, Jarron and Elfie set off to find Santa. They decided Who Ville is where the Grinch took Santa. They each hop on a reindeer and fly to Who Ville. At Who Ville they were happy singing songs and buying gifts. They told us the Grinch was at the tallest hill in Who Ville. Jarron, Bryton and Elfie flew to the top on the reindeer. They snuck inside the cave. The Grinch didn’t see them, because he was eating glass bottles. They snuck behind him and tied him up. Now they could find Santa, but one problem was that Santa wasn’t in the cave. They found a tunnel and decided to try it. It was a giant slide that went to the Who Ville Dump. They looked and

looked for Santa. They thought they would never find him. But then out of a glimpse of an eye they saw something big and red. It was Santa! They all hopped back on the reindeer and flew to the North Pole. Santa got to deliver all his gifts on time. Mrs. Claus was very happy to see Santa. Bryton Gregory * * * Santa is Missing One night Santa was sleeping while the Grinch was thinking and thinking and thinking and said I don’t like Christmas; I’ve never liked Christmas. Then that night the Grinch stole Santa. Then when Mrs. Clause woke up she saw that Santa was missing so she texts me and then I got dressed. Then I told my mom that Santa was missing but she didn’t believe me so I showed her the text from Mrs. Clause so we went to the north pole. Then we saw the Grinch and Santa we called the police and they came I told then he was over there they caught him and took the Grinch to hail. Then we got Santa home safely and we got home safely too and they found their dad home. Ariel Hamill * * * Santa is Missing Three days before Christmas was almost hear Santa went to get air and then the Grinch was there he saw Santa

Santa Story One night the Grinch was on the move. He went to the North Pole and kidnapped Santa. Santa tried to run but couldn’t get away in time. Santa called for help but no one answered. Mrs. Claus called me for help. I didn’t know what to say so I said yes. It was a long travel to the North Pole. When I got there I saw footprints in the snow and decided to follow them. I followed them until I heard someone yelling help! It was Santa. I ran back to the workshop to get the sleigh and reindeer. But the sleigh and reindeer were gone. So I set off to go try to find Santa. I saw him and ran after him. But the Grinch ran after me so I threw snowball’s and hit him in the face. He stopped and started to cry. After I got Santa, I looked for the sleigh but still couldn’t find it. Santa said he knew where it was, and so we went. We stopped at Ryan’s house and delivered toys and after a long night, we went home. After that no one ever saw the Grinch again. Trey Ryan * * * Jakub Saved Christmas That is terrible Mrs. Clause, when did Santa go missing? I will get on my snowmobile and head right over. Mrs. Clause had the sleigh ready for me when I got there and the reindeer remembered where Santa disappeared. So I was off to Who Ville to find Santa. When I got there it was clear that the Grinch took Santa. So I headed into the Grinch’s lair. Santa was tied up in the corner while the Grinch ate a stinky onion. I snuck over to the corner snatched up Santa before the Grinch knew I was there. And that was how I saved Christmas. Jakub Harris
Have a safe and happy holiday season!
3rd Grade Santa and I can ride the reindeer. Santa on one with the bag and me on another reindeer. The reindeer will fly us all around the world. We can deliver the presents on time. After that, we will head back home and get the sleigh. We will tie ropes all around it and tie it on the reindeer to fly it back to the North Pole. Santa, I, and the elves will fix it. I will put the dust on it to make it fly. We will test it out then Santa will take me home. I will give him a hug and a present. He will get into his sleigh. I will wave goodbye and he will wave back and off he’ll go with the sleigh. Peyton Berry * * * I will tell Santa to go get five pieces of cardboard and good, good, glue. We glue everything back together and spray paint it red. Then we hook the reindeer to the big sleigh we made. We put all the presents in a big, big, bag. I go and get chairs and put them in the sleigh. We are ready to go. We fly everywhere. Everything turns out okay and I let Santa take our sleigh back to the North Pole. We all had a Merry, Merry Christmas! Tressa Goodman * * * I would get a table and make some tall sides on the it. Then I would put the presents on the table. After the sides on the table are glued, I would then get the reindeer hooked to the table so Santa could still fly. But if that did not work, I will get my sleigh out and get the reindeer hooked to it so the reindeer would be able to get the presents from the table and put them on the sleigh. Then I’ll go get Santa and let him test it so he could go on his ride. Sofia Kasselman * * * I am going to give Santa a magic cookie that has magic chocolate chips that will give him super powers. I will give the reindeer magic carrots that will
Teacher: Judy George
make them fly faster and land softer. I will make a sleigh out of the wood and metal in my shed. While Santa delivers the presents, the reindeer, my mom, my dad, and I will fix the original sleigh and paint it red, white, and black. I will give Santa ropes and bells for the reindeer. Kasten Wren * * * I would help Santa’s with the sleigh by caling the elves at the North Pole to come fix the sleigh, so he can deliver the presents on time. They can use their magic and the problem will be solved. If that doesn’t work, Santa can use the tools from the North Pole to put the sleigh back together. Then Santa can fly his sleigh again. Alessandra Gonzalez * * * I would go outside and ask Santa if I could help. If he said yes, I would run back inside the house to get my Dad because he is a mechanic. We would get some tools and a snack, maybe cookies for Santa and carrots and salad for the reindeer. Then we would get our coats and run outside to help Santa fix his sleigh really fast. Then we would make sure everything is in good shape and ready to fly to deliver all the presents. We need to get very strong rope for the reins and tie them to the sleigh and reindeer then test the sleigh out. Then give them their treats. Miranda Gossman * * * So first, I ran inside and grabbed all my Mom’s craft stuff. I would get to work. I used wood for the sleigh. After I was done painting the wood, I wanted to use super glue to put it together but we were out!!! So I just used white frosting and it worked perfectly. In my Mom’s craft stuff, I found some string but it wasn’t strong enough. I thought if I we tie twisters together, it would work perfect. (continued on page 24)

Later we found him in a deep cave. When we got to him he was tied to a rickety chair. We untied him and when we were almost out of the cave the grinch popped out. The grinch sprayed us with green mist and it made us pass out. Then we woke up tied to chairs. Then Richard Sherman (#25 cornerback) had a plan and it was to take his cleat off and cut the ropes and he did just that and we all got out of the cave. We left a trail of ropes so the grinch would follow us. When the Seattle Seahawks players, Santa, and I got back to Seattle we set a trap. We laid out a spring loaded tarp on the ground and covered it with snow. When the grinch got to Seattle he

stepped in the trap and it launched him all the way back to his cave! Brody Strine * * * Once upon time there was a grinch who was kidnapping Santa Claus. Santa Claus had to deliver presents before Christmas but the grinch did not want Santa to deliver presents. The elfs and me were doing a plan to get Santa from the grinch. I thought of it. What if I sneak up on the grinch and get Santa. The elfs said if the grinch see’s you he would cook you for dinner. The reindeers came and said where is Santa we need to deliver presents before midnight. Santa is kidnapped by the grinch and we can’t get him. The reindeers said what if I get in the house and go in circles until he gets dizzy and get Santa and deliver presents. That’s a great idea said the elfs let’s do it. Next 5 minutes Santa was with the reindeers and said Merry Christmas. Yahir Armendariz * * * I would get Ashlyn and Nevaeh to help me. We would go to the grinch’s house. Ashlyn would distract him by singing Christmas carols. Me and Nevaeh would sneek inside and we would look for santa under all of the grinch’s dirty clothes and old onions and in his green glowing room. But, we found him in the back of the dark house in a cage. So, Nevaeh went to the grinch while Ashlyn was still singing she took the keys and came back into the house and went to me and santa. She looked at the three keys, she tried the smallest key. It was pink it did not work. She tried the second one. It looked brand new it was green it did not work. She tried the last one. It was rusty, it was red it worked. So we all escaped, got Ashlyn and left. We got all the presents and all the elves and all the presents were delivered and we had time to eat Mrs. Claus’s famous pumpkin pie. Lexi Schwindt * * *

Then once were done with Christmas we can go back to whoovile and tell everyone that the grinch isn’t bad he just needed some Christmas spirit in him. McKenzie Metzger * * * Once upon a time Santa was feeding his reindeer and the grinch who didn’t like Christmas came up behind Santa and kidnapped him just before Christmas. Rudolph saw it and jumped out of his home and followed him. He found the grinch’s hideout and went back to tell the other reindeer. They all went to the hideout, they turned invisible and went in the hideout. They could hear things so they went were they heard things and nothing was there. The next

4th Grade: Eitel Once upon a time the Grinch hated Christmas so he kidnapped Santa. So now Santa can’t deliver presents. So Mrs. Claus sends me a text saying Santa was kidnapped. So I had to help so I went to the Grinch’s hideout but the door was locked so I snuck in his house but he found me. So he locked me in a prison cell next to Santa and he used a screwdriver to keep me in but I had a wrench just in case he found me so I escaped and saved Santa. Alan Ruiz * * * Once upon a time the Grinch was thinking to kidnap Santa and the Grinch did he kidnapped Santa the day before Christmas. Mrs. Claus sends me a text message asking for help Mrs. Claus was so worried she began to panic. She gathered all of the working elfs to go find Santa. Mrs. Claus sends the elfs a text message to see if they found Santa, But of course the elves did not find Santa so the elves came back to the North Pole. Then Mrs. Claus sends me a text message again. She said that I am going to see if Santa is at the grinch’s house. When Mrs. Claus got there the door was locked, so Mrs. Claus used her magic powers to unlock the door.
Teacher: Jenny Eitel
Then Mrs. Claus went into the Grinch’s house to see if Santa was there all locked up so Mrs. Claus sneaks up behind the Grinch and gets the keys without the Grinch seeing and unlocks Santa. Then they quickly and quietly got out and that was how Santa got rescued and was able to deliver presents on Christmas Eve. Emily Cramer * * * In just a few days away from Christmas the grinch stole Santa. Mrs. Claus texted me for help. I asked why. She said that the grinch stole Santa. I texted back I’ll be there write away. I got there. I got on the sleigh and said goodbye. I went over 100 mountains. I saw the Grinch’s house and his dog outside. I went on the top of the rooftop. I carved a hole in the roof. I saw Santa all tied up. The Grinch got salt and pepper and started a fire. Santa saw me and yelled help. I ran over there and the grinch saw me. He yelled stop. I grabbed a knife and untied him. Me and Santa ran out the front door. Me and Santa climbed the walls and flew back 1 day before Christmas. Nevaeh Hernandez * * * First I will find a person smart enough to hack into the Grinch’s system. Then
I will need to find out where the Grinch is keeping Santa. So then I will grab my best piece of armour. Next I will find one of the Grinch’s minions and force that thing to tell me where the Grinch is keeping Santa! Turns out Santa is North of Whoville. So when it tells me where Santa is then I will go for him. When I found Santa, he was in a cage that had a secret code. Then I will call my hacker so he can hack into the Grinch’s system. So when he figured out how to hack into the Grinch’s system, I got Santa out of the cage. Then we saw the Grinch so I punched him as hard as I could with my armour and lands into the snow. Andrew Wright * * * Once upon a time the Grinch stole Santa`s suit. Then Mrs. Claus texted me get Santa back and I will take a ninja turtle like Leo and Mikey and Dom they can help me get Santa back soon. Turtle power we all said. It was 7;00 in the morning. And we found a clue said if you find me you will see me in Mr. Grinch lair. Please help me. 3:00 in the morning SANTA. Santa leaves a trail of apple ciders. Then I found a cave and it launched me into the
cave then saved Santa the Grinch found me. Santa and I went to the sleigh and we got away. Lyrik Farr * * * It was Christmas Eve. Santa was ready to deliver the presents to all the boys and girls. But something happened to Santa. A elf named Jennifer told all the Elves what happened to Santa. The story tore the Elves apart. The Elves made a plan to find Santa. They went to check at the Grinch’s home to see if Santa was there. When the Elves found Santa there, they untied him and gave him some cookies and milk. Santa was so glad to see the elves, he decided to give them a great reward. He and his reindeer would give them a free trip around the world to see all the different countries. It would just take them overnight to see the countries, and Santa wanted to get them back soon to the North Pole so they could start to make toys for all the children of the world again. The elves and Santa never heard from the stinky old Grinch again. And they all lived happily ever after . . . looking forward to the next Christmas. Kassady Lazar

First Grade Do you know how Santa gets all the presents in his sleigh? First he uses his magic wand. Next he says abracadabra and waves his wand to put them in the sled. When he says that the presents magically stack in the sled. Last he gets a big handful of gifts. He takes them through the chimney to put them under the tree. Now you know how Santa gets his presents in his sled. Nalani Chavez * * * I am going to write about how Santa gets all the toys in his sleigh. First I think he uses extra reindeer. I think Santa uses the extra reindeer because the sleigh gets heavy from all the toys. Next the reindeer fly to the houses. Last they land on the roofs and he goes in the chimney. He puts the toys under a tree in your house. That is how Santa got the toys in his sleigh. Hudson Feely

* * * Do you think Santa gets his presents in the sleigh by magic powder? I think he uses the magic powder. I think he uses it make the presents really tiny. Then he uses his magic powder to make the presents big again. That is how Santa gets your presents under the tree. Michael Hermosillo * * * I am going to tell you how Santa gets all the toys in his sleigh. First I think he uses a remote. Next the remote will make the presents disappear. Last when Santa get to the houses he uses the remote to make them reappear. I hope you learned how Santa gets the toys in his sleigh. Cooper Irvin * * * Have you ever wondered how Santa gets all the toys in his sleigh? First all the North Pole elves help Santa get the pres-
ents in to the sleigh. Next all the North Pole elves fly and carry all the presents to make them fit. Then they are carried in the sleigh to come to your house. Now you know how Santa gets all the toys into his sleigh. Kamryn Kough * * * This is how I think Santa gets all the presents in his sleigh. First he uses his magic and he makes a magic bag. That is how I think he get all the presents in his sleigh. Maci Lara * * * I think this is how Santa gets all the toys in his sleigh. First I think he uses a
magical toy bag. Next he puts the toys in the magical toy bag and the bag shrinks the toys. Last Santa takes the toys in the sleigh to the houses. I sure think that’s a cool bag. Adilene Labrado * * * I am going to tell you how Santa gets all the toys into his sleigh. First Santa uses his elves to help with magic. Then he gets a red bag and get the presents. Third Grade: Gough I make a funny face. But, I did go. So I found it. It said to get red and green peppers. Then it said to get Jalapeno cheese. I think he needs a cracker with it. I ran down stairs and out the door. I tell him to eat it. After he eats the Jalapeno cheese cracker he starts to run fast. He said it was the cracker. I started to laugh. So he delivered all the toys to all the good boys and girls. He came back and gave me the most prettiest doll in the world. He said it’s the china doll you’ve been wanting since you were two. I said thank you Santa Claus. He said you’re welcome and he waved good-bye. Aleena Rodriguez * * * Once upon a time Santa crashed his sleigh and he didn’t know what to do, but I did. So my way of getting the toys delivered on time is, he can ride the reindeer, but first he needs to put all the toys in a bag. Next, he needs to tie the bag on the reindeer. Last, he needs to get on the reindeer and go deliver the toys. Then he reindeer can fly him to all the houses in the world, but first he will need to go to the houses in the city he crashed in. Next, after he delivers the toys he will go home and drink hot chocolate. Bailey Welker * * * One Christmas Eve night I woke up to a big boom in my front yard. I went downstairs and opened the door. Santa was lying on the ground. He said, “Hi, as you can see little girl I have seemed to crash my sleigh!” “Can I help?” I asked. “Yes, what is your idea?” “You can call the Easter Bunny and ask him to come to West Ave. in Scott City, KS.” He asked, “How am I going to call him?” My mom’s phone!” I answered.
Teacher: Marylyn Gough
The Easter Bunny will use his small bombs to make tunnels from place to place under the ground. Next, he can use Santa’s big red bag to carry all the gifts he can. Then he can get on the roof by jumping and he can go down the chimney. Then to get up the chimney, the Easter Bunny can climb up. When the Easter Bunny gets tired, we can call the Tooth Fairy. First, she can get the big red bag when the Easter Bunny is done with it. Next, she can deliver the rest of the gifts. She will fly place to place and go down the chimneys. Five years after this, I got a thank you letter from Santa. Brodi Speer * * * When I woke up Christmas Eve, I heard a loud crash. I ran upstairs and I saw Santa Claus lying on the ground. Toys were scattered everywhere. I wondered how he would deliver on time. Santa can get a really fast mustang! First, he can get the car to go as fast as it can go. Next, he can take big short cuts across America to wherever he needs to go. Last, he can drop them off at their town square tree when he needs his break. Aubrey Grothusen * * * I woke up on Christmas Eve at the sound of a loud crash and found Santa and his reindeer in my front lawn! Everyone was okay but the sleigh is a total wreak. What can I do to make sure presents are delivered on time? My way to deliver presents is the elves could use their magic to make my house fly. The elves have magic so they could use it to make my house kind of like a robot and then we could take a few things out and add a steering wheel. We could use the steering wheel to guide the house and deliver the presents. We’d put the bag upstairs then when Santa needs it he could go upstairs to get it.
Then we could fly the house to deliver the presents. We’d fly over the house houses. There’s a little trap door so we could open it and Santa goes through the trap door to the chimney. He’d deliver the presents by using his magic. If Santa wouldn’t have crashed his sleigh, I wouldn’t have gotten to meet him or have that much fun. That’s how the presents got delivered on time. Piper Fox * * * My dad and I will go to the bank and get the money to go to the airport. Pay the register, then get on the jet and the driver will start the jet. And we will go get a rope to go on top of a house. And then leave and deliver all the presents to china, United States, and all around the world. Santa might give me a me a gift for helping him deliver presents all over the world. Kamdyn Moore * * * First I would the reindeer to fly with magic dust of Santa. Next, I’ll go in my house wake up my dad tell him Santa needs our help to build a sleigh. So we went in the big garage and I asked Santa how big we wanted the sleigh to be. He said 80 feet wide. So we went to the lumberyard and got wood and sandpaper. We smoothed the wood. Then we got metal and nailed the wood together and made the sleigh. We put the metal around the wood and went to Ace Hardware to get red paint. We painted the metal. We took furniture that we don’t use. We took out two couches and put them in the sleigh. Next, we got rope from my tire swing and made holes in front of the sleigh and put the rope in the holes and tied them. Then we went to the junk yard asked if we could use a steering wheel and we got it took it back to my garage put it on the front of the sleigh, put all the buttons back on the sleigh. Last, put the reindeer on the ropes
and put magic on them. We put the sack on the sleigh and put presents in every house and I flew all over the world. We went back to my house. He gave me my presents and I gave him his cookies and carrots for the reindeer. And he went back to the North Pole. Tatum Brown * * * When Santa Claus landed in my yard I asked Santa if he wanted to use my car and deliver the presents. I told my mom to get the keys for me. I gave the keys to Santa. I then hooked the reindeer to the car. He put the bag in. He then will take off and deliver the toys. He brought me a doll and finally the reindeer are going to make the car fly. My Christmas was crazy but I had fun helping Santa. Jayden O’Brien * * * Santa can steal a car and get a driver’s license. Then he can ask his dad to help him. His dad is at the shop. Santa’s dad said he can help him. Next, he can find a car he likes. Santa likes the color red. Last, he can start the car and drive to the next house. Santa can go to the next house go down the chimney put the presents under the tree and go to the next house. Then, after he is done delivering the presets Santa can go to his house and get his PJ’s on and go to sleep. The next day the children wake up and see the toys Santa brought them. They will be so happy. They will play with them all day every day. They can share them with their brother and sister. When Christmas was over I played with my toys. Finley Edwards * * * Santa crashed in my front yard. I opened the door so I look at Santa Claus. I told him if he need help and he said yes. I help him deliver the presents. Adriana Pascual

1st Grade: Buehler Next they trick the presents to fit in the sleigh. Last Santa take the presents to houses to put them under the tree. That is how important elves are. Kasey Rohrbough * * * Have you ever thought about how Santa gets his presents in the sleigh? I think he does it by snapping. First he snaps to get his presents in his sleigh. Then he snaps again and then they are in his bag. Next he puts the bag in his sleigh. Last he goes in the chimney and then he snaps and the presents are there. Do you think that is how he does it? Adan Tarango * * * This is how I think Santa gets all the presents in his sleigh. First I think Santa waves his hand. Then the presents magically go into the bag. Next Santa puts them in the sleigh. First he uses the shrink ray to make the presents really small. Then he puts them in the sleigh. Last he goes and gets a giant ray gun to make the toys big to put them under the tree. I am sure that’s how he does it. Gavin Vulgamore * * * Do you think Santa gets his toys in the sleigh by using the Jedi force? First Santa is a Jedi. Then he uses the Jedi force to lift the presents up in the air. Next the presents go behind the sleigh in the air. Last he uses the Jedi force to get the presents in the houses. Did you know that Santa might be a Jedi? Adalei Zeller

Third Grade I would go get my sister and the rest of my family and we would each get a red bag and put presents in it, and then we would each get on a reindeer and deliver the presents. We got done at 5:00 a.m. and Santa said, “Thank you, and have a Merry Christmas.” Catherine Nguyen * * * I would ask if I could help fix his sleigh and he would let me then I would ask to go to the North Pole. On the way to the North Pole I asked to sit on Rudolph and he let me because I helped him fix his sleigh. On the way home I got to see all the houses in the world. Kami Winderlin * * * It was Christmas Eve and I was asleep when I heard a noise. I opened the front door just a little bit when I saw Santa lying in the snow! He got up and saw me, so I ran to my room and got in bed to hide. I heard footsteps going to the couch so I got up and walked to Santa and asked if everything was alright? He said, “No we crashed the sled and now we can’t deliver the presents.” “We have tools that can fix your sled,” I said. So I went and got them. We fixed the sled and gave the reindeer treats. Then Santa brought out a present and said here’s your gift, Merry Christmas. I was excited to open it, and when I did it was amazing. Marisa Alvarado * * * My dad is a mechanic but there’s no way he could fix it in time. So I grabbed my wagon and duck taped it to the reindeer and that’s how we saved Christmas. Blaze Gossman * * * When Santa’s sleigh broke down at our house I gave him my mom’s bicycle to deliver the presents on. Kallyn Turner * * *

Santa’s sleigh broke down and he asked if we could help so I told him my dad has good, nails, and a hammer so we could rebuild the sleigh. Alex Varela * * * I would get all of my Legos, some of my dad’s wood and some super glue and pillows. I will use the wood for the base, and then build the sides and a back so the presents won’t fall out. I would then use the Legos to build a compartment for magic so the sleigh could fly and also some railings so it could slide. Next I would build a seat heater for Santa so he doesn’t get cold. Lastly, I would attach leather so that the reindeer would stay together and then put Christmas lights all over it. Samantha Heili * * * Ho, Ho, Ho said Santa, my sleigh crashed and went boom. Now I can’t deliver the presents. I can have your sleigh fixed in five minutes. So I fixed it and on he went. Brodey Rohrbough * * * To help get the presents delivered in time I want to Santa and asked how he was doing. Then ask if he needs help. He said yes so I got some of his elves to help me get supplies. Now have your elves get all the toys out and pile them up once they are out use your magic to get the sleigh up then we will put them back in and you will be on your way. Reed Batterton * * * I would help Santa fix his sleigh and once it was fixed I would help him bring in my present and my brothers and sisters present, then we would go to Subway. Avery Radke * * * First I took some carrots out to the reindeer, and some tools to fix the sleigh and once the sleigh was fixed I helped him deliver the rest of the presents. Muskateers glass doorway. It had Delta written all over it. We walked in. There were scanners, suit case checkers, conveyor belts and escalators all over. Our tickets say D1 Dillon said. We saw signs A2 E4 D1 D2 ahaa I say over by the suitcase locker I tell Reagan. And how are we going to get over there. We squirm threw the crowds Reagan replies. So off we went dodging people which seemed like forever. Then in big letters D1. So where are we flying asked Dillon. I think here. Well I guess we’ll find out. This is bad says Dillon as we go through the scanner. We’ll were not going far I respond. How old are you asked one of the officers. I told you he’d say that Reagan say angrily. Vegas I say to Dillon, Ryan, and Reagan. I check my time. Oh my gosh it’s still 8:00 am everybody hesitates in amazement. We hand our tickets to another officer and walk through a shoot. Holy cow. We got on the plane pretty slick high fiving each other. Three hours later boom, when landing gear hits the ground I wake up. Reagan taps me. Do you see this, this airport is bigger than Dallas airport. There were at least 5 nice paved runways and a lot of jets. I think I’m going to throw up my breakfast burritos I say belching, Ryan takes me to a flight attendant. They take us off the plane first, so then I stop acting sick. I think I’m fine I tell the flight attendant. Nice one Ryan tells me. I wasn’t joking I tell him annoyed. An old lady walks up to us. I am surprised you showed up she said taking us to a car. We hop in.
I’m Mrs. Claus. I start laughing. She holds up an I.D. Wow! Yes, I know. She says. Mr. Claus has been kidnapped by a guy named Grunch, Greech, Grinch. Something like that. We’ll call him Grinch. He is very green almost like it’s spray paint. She drives us to a mountain we whisper in the back. Whoa, it just started snowing, I say. It’s a miracle Ryan shouts. Not quite. Mrs. Clause pulls up to a door in the middle of a mountain. And we’re supposed to go in there Dillon says. The next thing I know we’re dropped off in a ditch right next to the door. Car long gone. We creep up to the door and open it slowly. Crack it slams shut and we are inside. We walk down dark hallways. I would rather stay home I think to myself we stop in fright. We could hear voices, like I don’t care about Christmas so what
you want to spread joy! That’s him I say. Who’se there? We put bandanas around our heads flip our shirts and get out out fully automatic nerf guns. Let’s do this! We hop out and start firing, bang, bang, bang, he jumps thought a trap door, and whoosh he is gone. Thank you boys, but who are you? We the 4 musketeers. AKA Mrs. Claus sent us here. We take Santa and run through the hallways and out the door. Glad we got away from Grunch Ryan replies. It’s Grinch Santa corrects. Thanks for correcting him the Grinch says. How did you get here? Secret. Then he throws a snowball at us. We have a snow ball fight until we look like snow men. I’m glad you could get in the holiday spirit Grunch, says Ryan. For the last time it’s Grinch. Anyways I’m glad to. Then we all go different ways the (See SANTA page 23)

Santa Grinch goes into his lair. Santa hopped on his sleigh. Once again I thank you 4 Musketeers. Then he’s off. We done? says Reagan. Now let’s hit the Casino says Ryan and they all roll down the hill. I just stand there in confusion. There kidding right. I think so says the Grinch then we go back to his lair. Man we set them up good, I say. Camden Vulgamore * * * Santa in Two Me and Dakota are playing MineCraft. And I get a text that said hello I’m Mrs. Claus I need your help. It’s December 22nd and Santa has been captured and it showed it to Dakota. Also it said meet me there and it will be ok. Dad we need to use ladder ok? I got upstairs there was on outside so we go out and climb the gold ladder. The sleigh was there and Mrs. Claus was in it. We came in the sleigh and Mrs. Claus said buckle up. We went so fast I could not see my hands. We were at the north pole and a elf named Zackery and he said I will help you. Mr. Claus said the basement smells like the Grinch. A giant snowman appeared. Can I help? Yes and we went to the basement and we saw Santa in the red suit and hat. The Grinch Froze Santa and we had a flamethrower and we put it by Santa and it started to melt and the Grinch found us and we put masks on and started kicking the Grinch and we defeated him. Santa is froze. It’s Christmas Eve and we’re name and Santa is on the go. Michael Smith * * * The Perfect Plan “What do you want to do,” said Breven. “Let’s watch a movie,” I replied. “Can we have popcorn, Dad?” I asked. “Yes, but don’t spill,” said Dad. “Oh no! Griffin, do you know how to fly an airplane?” asked Breven. “Yes, what do we need to fly for?” I asked.

“Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch and Mrs. Claus has asked us to help save Santa!” explained Breven. “Lets Go!” (Heads to airport) “Clear prop! Scott City traffic, Bonanza 7936A, taking off runway 17, Scott City.” “Here we go, off to save Santa.” (4 hours later) “Bonanza 7936A turning final for runway 16, Who-ville traffic.” “Can we get some coffee at the diner?” asked Breven. “Yes, lets go!” I replied. After some coffee we started up the mountain. One hour later we make it to the top of the mountain. “Come on Brev.” “OK!” said Breven shaking. “Good, you guys are here! Lets get Santa and get out of here!” BAM!!! “Search the area Elfs,” I said. “I think I got something!” said Breven. It was the Grinch. “Yes, my plan is working!” exclaimed the Grinch. “Hands up! We have you surrounded. Release Santa now!” I told the Grinch. “No!” the Grinch said again. “Arrest him.” I commanded. “Catch me if you can!” yelled the Grinch. “Get the Grinch!” I said. “Ho, Ho, Ho! Lets get out of here!” said Santa. “We caught the Grinch! He will not be stealing Christmas and you will not see the Grinch for a long time!” I said. And that is how me and Breven saved Santa three days before Christmas! Griffin Edwards * * * I was at Alexis’s house and we were playing mine-craft. And all of a sudden the news came on. The news said Santa was kidnapped by the Grinch! We need to save Santa before it’s too late! Then I said “how will we get there before Christmas?” Then I remembered that the Grinch had a pet dog named Max.
But, then we got a text. It was from Mrs. Claus! It was about Santa. She said “Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch! I picked you because you were at the top of the nice list. So I hope you can do it!” Alexis told her mom she would be home by midnight. And we were off to save Santa! “Finally” said Mallory. Alexis said, “wait i-i-is this r-r-real? Am I really seeing this or not?” “Well maybe did you not believe in Santa.” We keep walking and talking about the Grinch and Santa. Then we walked to the airport and took a plane to the north pole we all that we needed to keep warm. And then we arrived to the Grinch’s lair. “This is frightening” said Alexis. “Ya it really is I’m with you on this one.” Lets do this quick ok?” said Alexis. “Ok lets do this and get Santa back to the workshop!” So we went inside. And the Grinch was standing right in front of us with his dog Max. Right when we come in we see Santa. Hes tied up to a pole. “We can do this I know we can” said Mallory. We suddenly say “Lets fight Grinch.” The Grinch said it was fine with him. But he also said whoever wins get to take Santa. We said that was fair. So we started to fight him. For the final move we punched him in the face and said to him “LOSER” we exclaimed. He fell to the ground. We snuck away to Santa. We untied him and brought him back to his workshop. We said all together the elfs, Mallory, and Alexis they said “Christmas was saved thanks to Mallory and Alexis! If they were not there Christmas would have been ruined! Adrianna Leo * * * Saving St. Nick Once upon a time there was two girls named Hailey and Millie. They were both elves and they were also elf on the shelf elves. They both go to the same house each year. The house they go to is
the Francis family’s house. One day, 3 days before Christmas, Millie got a text from Mrs. Claus. It said, “Santa was kidnapped!” Then Hailey said to Millie that they should ask who did it. So they did. “Who did it” they text back. Then she text back, “The Grinch!” They sprinted to Santa’s house where Mrs. Claus was drinking hot chocolate in the kitchen. They ran the doorbell, “Ding-Dong.” She opened the door. “Welcome, make yourself at home,” she said as she was getting us hot chocolate and some gingerbread cookies. “What do we need to do to save Santa,” they asked Mrs. Claus. Mrs. Claus said, “You need to go to the Grinch’s cave and down in that cave is where Santa is.” “Get all the reindeer and elves to help you,” she explained. So the girls gathered up the reindeer and elves and went off to the Grinch’s cave. They were finally there! There was a sign that said, “Grinch’s cave, do not enter.” Half of the elves brought the sleigh and the reindeer and the other half took on the Grinch with the Millie and Hailey. Santa escaped. Hailey Shapland * * * The Weirdest Christmas Ever! December 22, 2007 1:00 a.m. Mrs. Claus texted Mary’s dad from the North Pole. Then Mary’s dad came and work her up in her bedroom. It was 1:00 a.m. in the morning. I was so tired, then my dad told me about the terrible news. Mary got out of bed and texted Mrs. Claus and asked to tell Mary the whole story. Mrs. Claus said that the GRINCH stole Santa Claus. Mary said, “the GRINCH.” Thats really bad said Mary. What does that mean asked dad. It means that the Grinch took Sant Nick to Who’s Ville. Where its freezing cold outside. It’s super windy and snow is blowing everywhere, you can hardly see. Ok dad I got a plan. You stay and take (See WEIRD page 26)

Third Grade: George I gave Santa some cookies and apparently they gave him powers. And the same with the reindeer but with carrots. The sleigh was ready and so was Santa. I said by and he rode off. When he left, he said “Goodbye to you and to all. Merry Christmas!” Konner Rohrbough * * * When I hear a crash I go up to my window and see what happened. Then I see Santa with his sleigh and reindeer on the snow laying down. I put on my coat, gloves, scarf, and boots to go help Santa. When I asked what happened, he told me that he crashed on my front yard because the engine broke. He asked me if I could help him deliver the presents. I said yes. I built a very big rocket and told Santa to get the presents and put them in the rocket. We got in the rocket and went to deliver them. Right on time the sun was rising and we were at the last house. Santa went down the chimney and came back up. Santa took me to my house and I got off. I told Santa to keep the rocket and go to the North Pole. Then I went up the stairs to my house. My Mom asked me why I was outside, and I said Santa’s sleigh broke down and I helped him. Valerya Castillo * * * I will first wake up my Dad so he can get started working on fixing the sleigh. Then I will help Santa hook the reindeer to my Mom’s car and help him get the presents in the car. Then he will come pick up the sleigh before sunrise so he can get back to the North Pole. I would ask Santa if he was okay. I would unhook the reindeer and ride them to the North Pole to tell the elves that Santa broke his sleigh. Since the sleigh broke, they need to come and help Santa deliver the presents on time. Cesar Garcia * * * I will give him my Mom’s car. I will need to take off the roof, windows, and doors and paint the car. I will put the presents in the car, hook the reindeer to it, and give it Santa. I’m sure he will like it a lot. I will tell him that after he delivers the presents, I will go to the North Pole to help fix the sleigh and make it look brand new. That will make everyone so happy. Brianna Selvey * * * I would take four chairs, the table, a very big piece of cardboard, super glue, pillows, duct tape, and rope. 1. I will take the table and the chairs and super glue the chairs to the table. 2. I will duct tape the pillows to the chairs. 3. Now, I’ll take the cardboard and glue it in a square on the table. (That is where the presents will go.) 4. I will tie the rope to the reindeer and off they go. Kamryn Meyer * * * I can help fix the sleigh before
Christmas comes tomorrow so everyone can have their presents on Christmas. Children want to open their presents from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and his elves. They worked very hard on them for all the kids that wished for them. So I will help Santa Claus fix the sleigh. Kyndall Farr * * * I would give Santa and his reindeer a ride to wherever they need to go. That way Santa can deliver all the presents on time. Then I would give Santa cookies and milk and the reindeers some food. On Christmas we can open presents. Dallas Nuncio * * * When I hear the crash, I get up and see what’s wrong. When I see Santa’s sleigh, I ask what happened and if I can help. We get all the reindeer. We borrow some wood and parts and help Santa rebuild his sleigh. When Santa’s sleigh is done, he can finish delivering the presents to all the boys and girls around the world. Then Santa and the reindeer will make it home safely. They will all have a Merry Christmas and all the elves too, including Mrs. Claus. Brodie Holstein * * * First, I would go tell my Dad. My Dad can use his tools to help Santa fix his sleigh. It will take a little bit of work, but I will help my Dad build the sleigh. Then Santa can give the presents to the kids. We will make another sleigh. That way Santa has a second sleigh in case it happens again. Isaac Navarrete
* * * When it was Christmas eve, I heard a crash when I was sleeping. Then I went outside and I saw Santa and his reindeer. He said to me “Will you help me fix my sleigh?” I said that I will go get my Dad’s tool set. I helped him fix his sleigh. Then it was 6:00. We had a little bit of time, to I helped Santa deliver presents on time. When it was morning, he have me a present. It was his belt buckle. It said “Merry Christmas, Kevin.” Kevin Weibe * * * I can take some of the magic dust and put it on my Mom’s car. The reindeer would pull the car. Santa and I would run to put all the presents in the back of the car. We would build wings out of parts of Santa’s sleigh. I get the harnesses on the car, reindeer, and me so I can help deliver presents. We put more magic dust on the car and some on us. Then we take off. I get to see the whole world in one night. After we finish flying all over the world, I get home and sleep for an hour. Everything was back to normal, but I never forgot that night. Isabella Trout You can make a new sleigh out of wood and nails so the reindeer can still pull it. Or, you can fly on the reindeer and his elves can make him a new sleigh while he delivers the presents he has. Or, the reindeer can deliver them. But in case Santa can’t go down the chimney, the kids in the neighborhood can help by going down the chimney. Savannah Swartout

Second Grade Once upon a time the reindeer could not carry Santa in his sleigh because he was so heavy. He needed to lose some weight. The elves made a plan for Santa. They thought Santa should run laps around the North Pole. They told Santa that and he did it. He lost the weight and lived happily ever after. Shannon Stromberg * * * I would have him do exercises like gymnastics and walking. Doing exercise with an elf and working out on an exercise bike will help him lose the weight. Nydia Saldago * * * First, I would have Santa run ten laps around the North Pole. Second, I would have Santa run twenty laps around the toy shop. Finally, Santa would then run 40 laps around his house. Santa will be

ready to go on the sleigh to deliver toys. Brandon Everett * * * Santa could not move. He was too heavy for the sleigh. How are we going to have Christmas? In two weeks, Santa has to lose 100 pounds. Santa will lose weight by doing lots of exercising and eating healthy food. Christmas will be great once again if he follows this plan. Shai Lee * * * Santa was riding his reindeer when all of a sudden he felt himself going down. Santa thought it was the toys, but when they got to the ground, they weighed the toys and they were only 100 pounds. Then, they weighed Santa. He was 450 pounds. He had to lose 100 pounds in order for the sleigh to get off the ground. San-
ta thought he shouldn’t eat as much. In the first week, he lost 50 pounds. In the second week he lost another 50 pounds. Santa went for another ride. He made it the whole way. Santa is better now because he ate less food. Brant Powelson * * * Once upon a time Santa’s sleigh broke down. Santa and the elves were trying to figure out what was wrong One day they found out. Santa was too heavy. So, Santa can’t eat candy or anything. He will also need to run 8 hours every day. Gabie Tucker * * * Santa will come to my house every day. Santa and I will run 20 laps around the North Pole. If that doesn’t work, then we will take a break and go swimming at the North Pole YMCA.
Finally, we will go back to the North Pole to run 100 more laps around the North Pole. Treyten Eitel * * * Santa tried to get in the sleigh to go for a test run for Christmas, but the reindeer couldn’t lift the sleigh off the ground. They realized that Santa was too heavy for them to go. They put Santa on the treadmill every day for two weeks. He lost the 100 pounds and the reindeer were able to get Santa’s sleigh off the ground easily. Mickey Gossman * * * He will go run 10 minutes every day. He needs to do this so he can lose 100 pounds before Christmas Eve. We need him to have a great Christmas. Serenity Zapata (continued on page 29)

Weird care of Mrs. Claus. Wait a minute says dad you’re going to go to Who’s Ville by yourself? Yeah says Mary what’s wrong with that. Nothing its just that I’m just not ready for you to go alone. Don’t worry dad I’ll be fine I will take my phone so you can text me said Mary. And off she went but 5 seconds later she came back through the front door and said I might need some clothes. So they bundled Mary up and off she went again. Mary finally made it to Who’s Ville and went to the GRINCH’S door and ran the doorbell and he opened it. Right when he saw Mary he yelled at her and yanked her inside and took Mary to the same room where Santa Claus was. Santa Claus was tied to a chair. Then the Grinch tied me up to. Then he left the room. Mary was so mad she fell over and her chair broke. Then she untied Santa Claus and they went out the window and made it home safe and sound. Then they called the cops and took Grinch to GRINCH PRISON!! Avery Lewis * * * Santa’s on His Way!! One upon a time there was a little girl she was 10. And her name was miracle. She was writing her Christmas list. She said mmmmmmm what should I put down next, and there’s only three days before Christmas. What should I do. I’ve got an idea. I want a new bike, and a new scooter, a new . . . Just then I received a message directly from Mrs. Claus. asking for help because Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch. How will I ever find Santa in time. I know I will go to howville. and once i was there I knocked on the grinches door I said LET ME THIS INSTINT OR ELSE!!! Right then he answered the door he said OR ELSE WHAT. I stood there like I was frozen. I didn’t know what to do. So then he took my arm. and put me in the same room Santa was in. I said loud and clear SANTA! The Grinch said SHHHHHH so I looked at the Grinch and he looked at me. and then he disappeared

into the hallway forgetting to tie me and so I untied Santa and ran out without the Grinch seeing us. And then Santa was able to deliver presents Christmas night. Brooklyn Escalona * * * Saving Christmas it was just 3 days before Christmas. I was in my room going to bed. And then all the sudden I get a text. I look at it it says Santa has been kidnapped by the grinch. We need your help Santa is in the grinche’s lair. It’s located north of hoodville there in a cave. Now the grinch is taking the presents. Hurry. From Mrs. Claus. So Jake went to go get Santa but first he had to sneak out. Before his parents find out he has to go to the grinches lair to get Santa. But how will he get there. He had a plan. He can go on the polor express but the train only goes to the north pole. He had another plan. Jake can get santa’s sleigh. And some elves to help him. So he took santa’s sleigh. And the elves took Jake to the grinches lair. And jake banged on the door and said LET ME IN. The grinch let Jake in but the grinch took him. And put him in the jail that Santa was in Jake had a plan he saw a vent. So they climbed out the vent that led outside. They escaped and saved Christmas. Ethan Hickert * * * Saving Santa Once upon a time the Grinch kidnapped Santa. One day I got a text from (938)-2906190. It didn’t know who it was so I looked at it and it said this is Mrs. Claus. Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch. I replied and said ok. Then I got all ready to go. Then was off to the airport I rented a plane. Then I flew to Whoville. I asked a couple of people if they knew where the Grinch lived. I got a answer from Tom he said on top of mount Goofball. I climbed up mount Goofball. I knocked on the door then hid above
the door then the Grinch came out and I jumped on him. I rushed inside then I saw Nemo the Grinch’s dog. I found Santa he was trapped in a room upstairs. I asked him if the door was locked Santa said yes. Then I got ready to kick down the door crash the door down. I said I have a plan. No time for plans go to Tom’s house my sleight is there. I met Rudolf there he said where is Santa we have to go get him. There I see him get on. I say we have to deliver presents to kids. Then we have to get you home....now we are at the North Pole. I have to go home now before my mom knows I’m gone by Santa. Then I got home my mom asked me where I was. I told her it is top secret you can’t tell. Then told her the whole story the Christmas it happened again. To be continued said the Grinch. Brooks Bailey * * * It’s Christmas break! Yay!! I was laying on the couch watching football until I got the text from Mrs. Claus. Santa had been kidnapped by the Grinch. I need you to come find Santa said Mrs. Claus. I called my friend Tyler and told him I needed his help to find Santa. We got on our snow mobiles and drove to the top of the mountain. We saw a cave and walked in. Wow, it stinks! We turned the corner and saw Santa in a chair with his mouth taped shut and his arms and legs were tied. We untied him and asked him where the Grinch was. Santa said that the Grinch was in the kitchen baking cookies. We sneaked in the kitchen and the Grinch yelled who’s there? I tackled him and handcuffed him. We headed to the North Pole with Santa and the Grinch on the back of our snow mobiles. We locked the grinch up in a reindeer stall. I was tired. Santa thanked us and invited us in his house for cookies and coffee that Mrs. Claus had made. Santa asked for our help in loading up his sleigh since he was behind schedule due to the kidnapping. Christmas Eve
day when we started loading the sleigh we noticed that all the gifts were gone. We all suspected the Grinch so Tyler and I went back to the cave and sure enough there was the Grinch and all the gifts! I had to tackle and handcuff him again. This time instead of putting him in the reindeer stall we called the cops to take him to jail. We had to hurry back to the North Pole with the gifts. Time was running out but we made it. The sleigh was loaded and Santa and the reindeer took off!! When Santa was done delivering presents he went home o Mrs. Claus and fresh baked cookies. He was so grateful for our help that he got me and Tyler new iPads. What a wonderful Christmas it turned out to be! Case Armendariz * * * The Magic Christmas Dust One day, I was sitting on my couch watching Sponge Bob’s Christmas with some hot chocolate. It was snowing outside and then all of a sudden I got a text. The number was 1-580-975-1908. I called to my mom and asked her “Who’s number is 1-580-975-1908?” She said “I don’t know.” Then she asked my dad and he knew the number. He said “That’s Mrs. Claus’s number.” The text said that Santa had been kidnapped by the Grinch and that she needed my help finding him because it was only three days until Christmas. I told my mom and dad, “I need to help.” “Okay” they said “Go save Christmas.” I needed help, so I called my friend Miles, he agreed to help. When Miles got to my house, my Mom and Dad took us to the North Pole. When we got to the North Pole, my Dad and mom left. We found Mrs. Clause, she was excited to see us. She wanted us to take the sleigh and an elf with us to find Santa. Miles said, “How about the head elf Buddy.” “That’s a great idea.” I said. “Sure” said Mrs. Clause, “but do you (See MAGIC page 27)

know how to work the sleigh?” “No” I said. The sleigh was high tech machinery, so we had to start the engine like a regular car. Mrs. Clause instructed us to hold back on the steering wheel, you pull right to go right, left to go left, back to go back and push foward to go forward. We walked to the sleigh. It was bright red, fresh gold, like it had just been washed. I told everyone, “Hop aboard folks.” Buddy, Miles and I were off, heading North of Who Ville. While we were on our way we had to make a plan. Miles thought we should sneak in the Grinch’s layer while he as taking a nap. We didn’t like that plan beacuse we knew that the Grinch would wake up. It was getting dark outside, so I said we will figure a plan out in the morning. Buddy and Miles got some sleep as I drove the sleigh through the night to Who Ville. We arrived in Who Ville the next morning. I woke up Buddy and Miles and said, “Guys were here.” I called Mrs. Claus to tell her we had made it, she said that she had a plan. She told us there was some magical dust in the trunk of the sleigh. She instructed us to grab the bottom of it and take the lid off slowly. The magical dust will make anyone nice and put them in the Christmas spirit. We snuck in the Grinch’s layer, we saw Santa tied up with rope around his wrists and tape over his mouth. Suddenly, the Grinch jumped out and scared us with his hairy fingers. Miles quickly tossed the magic dust on the Grinch. There was a slight pause and all of a sudden the Grinch started hugging us, dancing around and singing Christmas carols. The Grinch untied Santa and asked if he could help Santa deliver presents on Christmas Eve. Santa having a kind and forgiving heart, agreed to let the Grinch help. We all loaded up in the sleigh and headed back to the North Pole. We got there just in time for the elves to load the toys in the sleigh. Santa and the Grinch took off and delivered all the toys to the boys and girls. When thye got back to the North Pole we all celebrated. The Grinch’s heart was forever changed. Amelia Ramsey

Second Grade: Koehn Santa was too heavy for the reindeer to get him off the ground in his sleigh. So, the elves came up with an exercise plan for Santa. They even joined him. The elves and Santa were getting ready to for a run, but Santa didn’t want to. They took him to talk to Mrs. Claus. She told him to go, but it still didn’t work. Finally, she hit him on the nose with a newspaper, and Santa got right up. It was the day before Christmas and he just had to lose a few more pounds. They were going to go on another run, but he wouldn’t go. Again, they took him to Mrs. C. and she hit him again and it got him right up again. Kenzi Martinez * * * The elves had a meeting. The elves said, “Santa needs a Beachbody diet and needs to eat vegetables.” The elves tried it and it didn’t work. The elves had another meeting. They said that Santa needed to go to the gym and was not allowed any candy. They were given a personal trainer at the gym. He was able to lose the weight. Audrina Ortiz * * * I will make him do 100 jumps with his jump rope every morning and night. It will be almost impossible for him to get all that weight off without some magic. Alex Garcia * * * Oh no! Santa is too fat for the sleigh and can’t go up in the air. We need to hire a personal trainer. He will not be allowed to eat any candy canes, peppermints, or cookies. He can only drink water and one vegetable a day for two weeks. He will have to go to the gym.
Teacher: Tonya Koehn
The elves asked Mrs. Claus if she could help him. She became his personal trainer. By Christmas Eve the sleigh could carry him. McCall Miller * * * I can make Santa lose 100 pounds by having him do gymnastics. First, he has to do fifty flips in a row. Then, 90 burpies. He did this for 1 week. He was doing great, but Mrs. Claus snuck Santa some treats!! Then, I gave him a magic pep talk. A magical fairy went and made him lose 150 pounds! Darby Hawkins * * * Santa tried to get in the sleigh so he could fly for Christmas, but the reindeer couldn’t lift the sleigh. So, they put Santa on the treadmill. It worked and he was able to get the presents delivered. Ethan Weber * * * He will do pushups, sit ups, and jumping jacks. He will run 2 laps around the house. Santa won’t eat any cookies or drink any milk. He will only eat veggies and fruit every day. Santa will be ready to go! Emiliano Tapia * * * The elf and reindeer come with a plan, but Santa weighs 220 pounds. Santa can’t bring gifts on Christmas in time. He needs to run 10 miles. All the kids can’t be sad. Finally, Santa loses 100 pounds. Santa found the reindeer and Rudolph. Santa got gifts for the kids on Christmas. Alize’ Duran * * *
Santa can’t get in the sleigh. The sleigh holds 300 pounds and Santa weight 400 pounds. He should go to gymnastics every day for 3 hours. He also should run 6 miles and lift 100 pounds of weights. He should really get on a diet and he needs a personal trainer. Cara Beaton * * * They were getting ready for the holiday race. Santa used his training to help him lose the 100 pounds he needed to lose in two weeks. He used the treadmill. Then, he ran two laps around the house. He lost 50 pounds. Then he lost 50 more pounds. On the day of the race, he got 1st place and was able to get on his sleigh. The reindeer were able to lift him and the sleigh up. He was a winner in more ways than one. Emilio Alarcon * * * Santa went to run 20 miles per hour. Santa fell when he was running. He thought that he would never lose the 100 pounds. He figured out that he actually lost 200 pounds. He was so happy that he stood up and did his victory dance. Adrian Garcia * * * He ran 10 miles every day. By working hard every day, he lost the pounds. He said, “Ho! Ho! Ho! Bye now. I can go deliver presents.” The elves and reindeer were so happy that they gave each other high fives and decided to get him a special present. They gave him movie tickets to watch Santa Claus 2. Halle Erazo * * * Santa should run two miles around the
shop because the sleigh can’t pull him. The sleigh can hold 200 pounds. Santa weighed 300 pounds. So, he ran two miles around the shop. It seemed hopeless for Santa. Finally, they grew desperate. They finally decided to use the magic dust that they use on the reindeer to help them fly. They threw just a speck on Santa and it made him fly up in the air like a helium balloon. One of the reindeer had to go up to bring him back down. They knew that the dust was the only way to save Christmas this year. Knowing that the dust wouldn’t work every year, Santa decided to start his diet the day after Christmas. Hunter Wells * * * Santa went to the scale and he weighed 200,000 pounds. The sleigh could hold only 199,900 pounds. So I told him to run 100 laps around his house every day. I told him not to eat any more cookies and tell Mrs. Claus to not make any for you either. Kaine Unger * * * Santa needs to exercise and drink healthy milkshakes. He also needs to quit eating so much. He needs to stay healthy and keep the weight off so the reindeer can pull Santa’s sleigh. Kyara Gomes * * * I will hire a gym teacher. The gym teacher will make him do pushups for 2 hours. Then, he would do 20 laps around the gym. He would even do weights and that’s all. He will lose the 100 pounds. Fredy Frances

We were looking for Santa but we wanted to deliver presents. So, Vanessa and the elf and Mrs. Claus got on the sleigh. First they delivered the presents and then they went looking for Santa until they found him in a cave. He was tied up on a chair so we untied him. * * * How I Saved Christmas One day close to Christmas, Santa got kidnapped by the Grinch! The elves thought: great, first a reindeer, and now Santa! The Grinch is gonna have a black eye when we’re through with him! Anyway, Mrs. Claus messaged an ordinary everyday kid named Logan (that’s me) to save Santa. So, I walked and walked until I found the Grinch’s lair just north of Whoville. I looked around the outside of his lair, and all I found was a vent. I said to myself, “Well, I guess it’s the only way in.” The vent was kind of tall, so I found some snow by a horse’s stable (who knows how he got horses) and put it into a pile of snow. My shoes kept sinking into the snow, so I took my shoes off and put them in the vents. My feet were freezing, but I was able to get into the vents anyway. When I looked back down, I realized that the snow was yellow! Great, now I have to take a shower when I get home! I was grumpy during the rest of the way through the vents. At one point, I was on top of a room with a weird guard in it. I was making such a racket that he hollered, “Hey, is anyone in there?” I said, “Uh, no.” “Oh, okay,” he said. I whispered to myself, “What a weirdo,” and started crawling through the vents again. After awhile, I saw the Grinch’s lair, and the Grinch himself was in there - with Santa! I jumped out of the vent, and the Grinch said he was expecting me. I asked him, “Why did you steal Santa?” He said, “So Santa would tell me where he keeps the presents, but he won’t tell me where.” After that, he said, “How about this, you meet me at the big tree at 4:00 pm. If you can beat me up, you can take Santa, but if I beat you, I get to keep you and Santa as my slaves.” I thought about it for a little while, and then I said, “Deal!” So I went home and then at 4 p.m. I came to the big tree and
waited out in the open. When I get there, I see the Grinch and he’s hitting the big tree with a stick and yelling at it. After awhile, I grunt, and he stops hitting the tree and slowly turns his head at me and yells, “You think you can hide from me?!” I asked, “Hide?” He said, “Yes, and I found you!” Then he charges after me with the stick. I flick him and he falls down crying. Wow, that was easy. I go up to Santa, who is tied around the tree, and untie him, and he goes home safely. That is how I saved Christmas and why I now get a lot of presents! Logan Stoppel * * * Save Santa Santa was making presents for kids. The Grinch made a potion that made him look like a elf. The Grinch made a potion that looked like milk so Santa would follow him to his cave. Mrs Clause sent a text to Alex. He gathered his friends Trey and Brody to save Santa. They got in a jet that had weapons that shot snowballs. They flew to the North Pole. They went to the cave to save Santa. The Grinch threw snowballs at them. They had shields to protect them. They ran inside the cave to save Santa. They found him tied to a pole. It was a robot. The real Santa was on top of the cave tied to a rocket that was going to the moon. The Grinch was going to launch him to the moon but Trey came back in and knock him out cold. They put him in jail. It was not over. He got back up to beat them. Santa ran back home so he would be safe. Alex and Trey and Brody faught all day against the Grinch they finish and won the war. Santa was safe again but they had two hours to deliver presents. They finally finished. Santa said thank you to Alex and Trey and Brody for saving me. Alex Rodriguez * * *
Santa?? On snowing morning at 10:36 a.m. at K-Stateville Santa was getting hay for his reindeer when he saw the Grinch kidnapping kids who wanted Santa to come to their house. So, Santa went to help. Then the Grinch saw Santa trying to help. So the Grinch snuck a bag and put it over Santa and caught Santa. Santa ripped the bag and ran away and got to his worship in time for Christmas. For Christmas I got a four-wheeler from Santa! Breven Vulgamore * * * The Stolen Santa One night, Santa was delivering presents and then the last house wasn’t a house at all it was the Grinch’s cave. While Santa was giving presents to the Grinch, the Grinch snuck up on Santa and threw a leather bag on Santa and made a jail out of snow and ice and threw Santa in it. Back at the North Pole, Mrs. Claus asked for the messenger elf for the news because she hadn’t heard from him since yesterday. He came in a hurry and said the bad news, “Mrs. Claus, Santa has been kidnapped!” “Oh no!” said Mrs. Claus, “I need my best elves to find and save Santa from the Grinch!” Two elves dared to save Santa from the Grinch: Logan the elf and Jonny the elf. “Any other elf?” Mrs. Claus said. No elf wanted to do it. Mrs. Claus sighed and said, “Alright, Jonny and Logan will do it.” Then all the elves cheered for Jonny and Logan. Then Logan and Jonny got on Jonny’s reindeer and rode him to the Grinch’s cave. Then they got off and Jonny told his reindeer to go back to the North Pole. Then they snuck to the opening of the cave. Jonny looked inside and didn’t see the Grinch, but Jonny saw his dog. Then Logan tapped my shoulder but Jonny ignored him and Jonny took his hat off and he told his miniself to go cut the snow and ice bars off and come back. (See STOLEN on page 31)

4th Grade: Stolen Jonny’s miniself took one step, turned around, and told Jonny about the dog and Jonny slapped his face turned around and saw the Grinch! Jonny ran in the cave but Logan wasn’t behind him. Jonny turned around to see where Logan was but the Grinch was alone. Jonny turned around again and was astonished to see Santa and Logan in the jail. Then Jonny remembered the dog. Where was he? There he was unlocking the jail. Santa and Logan were out, but how were they going to escape? The Grinch was in the way. Then the dog jumped onto the Grinch, knocking him down. Santa, Jonny, and Logan got out, but where were the reindeer? “Ha ha ha ha!” laughed the Grinch. “I locked them in another jail!” Jonny slapped his face again. Jonny told Santa and Logan that he could call his reindeer, but only him and Logan could ride him. Then Santa had an idea, he ran into the Grinch cave and got three reindeer. Jonny asked, “Why not all of them.” “I didn’t want them to shed,” Santa said. They rode the reindeer half way there when the Grinch ran into Santa. Jonny and Logan went after him but the Grinch knew that was what they were going to do. He punched them off their reindeer. They crashed in the snow, then they got up and looked and looked for Santa, but there was no sign of Santa. “He’s gone,” Jonny said, “We failed the mission.” “No we didn’t, look, it is Rudolph, that is the reindeer Santa was riding. Right?” Logan asked. “Yeah,” Jonny said. They got on Rudolph and rode him to where Santa was, but where is he? Jonny and Logan immediately saw tracks at the same time, but something was weird about them. They followed them to the Grinch’s snow cave. Jonny told Rudolph to land on top of the cave. Rudolph did that. Santa jumped on his back, Jonny blew a whistle and his reindeer came. Jonny and Logan jumped on his back and they rode to the North Pole and had

a party, ate cake, cupcakes, cookies, pies and a lot of other good treats. And guess who ate the most? SANTA! As for the Grinch he went back to his cave and ate Limburger, Stilton, Munster, Stinking Bishop to make his stinky breath even stinkier than before. Jack Lightner * * * The Grinch Stole Santa On Christmas Eve Santa was putting presents under the grinch’s tree. The grinch put a bag on Santa. Then took him to his jail cell. Santa had no food or water and he got cold he almost froze to death. Then the next day Santa was like oh no I did not pass out presents. The grinch said don’t worry I blew up the presents. Tyler Roberts * * * The Grinch Who Stole Santa Claus One day Santa Claus was enjoying his summer vacation in Hawaii someone called Santa but it was the Grinch who called Santa. He answered and it was the Grinch but Santa didn`t know it was the Grinch. He asked where he was at. Santa told him where he was in Honalula Hawaii. The Grinch went there and put Santa in a cage and took him to Russia. Santa was lucky to still have his iphone 6s. He called Mrs. Claus and asked her to send the elves to get him in Russia. Back at the North Pole Mrs. Claus told all of the elves to go to Russia. When the elves got there they found him and saved him, they took him back to Honalula, Hawaii and got his stuff and went back to the North Pole so Santa could deliver the presents all around the world. Cami Lobmeyer * * * Santa’s Kidnapped Santa has been kidnapped by the Grinch just three days before Christmas. Mrs. Claus sends me a text message asking for help. Mrs. Claus thought they were gone for a long time. When she went to the ice crystal Mrs Claus got there, there was some green fur. Mrs. Claus sent Dakota a text. Dakota said “I am on my way.” When Dakota got there and said “I am here, what is the problem?” Mrs. Claus said “Santa and Santa Paws had been kidnapped by the Grinch.” We have to save Santa and Santa Paws said Dakota. The Grinch said “Let me go!” Razer Wolf said “No!” Then, he heard a noise, the rope was about to break. Razer Wolf jumped and caught them before they could fall. Razer Wolf saved them and Christmas! Dakota Green * * * Stolen Santa!?! Chris was outside three nights before Christmas Eve. When all of a sudden he saw some flying reindeer followed by a sleigh. They landed right in front of the Maitland’s house. Chris called for Tabitha, his older sister. When she came out, Santa came out of his sleigh with a worried look and said, “The Grinch is trying to kidnap me.” Then Santa looked towards the corner of the house. The Grinch popped out and put Santa in his sack! Then they disappeared. They kids went over to the reindeer and Tabitha asked “Do you guys know where they went?” Then Rudolph came up and said “Whoville.” “How do we get to Whoville?” Tabitha asked. Rudolph replied, “You have to ride in
Santa’s sleigh or live in Whoville or be Santa or the Grinch.” The kids jumped into the sleigh and everyone got arranged. Then they appeared in the Grinch’s lair. They found Santa and Chris found the key and unlocked Santa. Then they all got loaded up. Santa dropped off the kids and said “Ho-Ho-Ho, thank you.” The kids went to bed and Chris said “Wow, we saved Santa.” Jayden Hinrichs * * * The Grinch Who Stole Santa Every December 25, there is a special holiday tell Santa was captured by the Grinch. People started hearing about it and Mrs. Claus heard about it too. Mrs. Claus called her favorite reindeer Rudolph. Rudolph said pack up Frosty, we have a rescue mission. So they pulled out the special sleigh full of super powers, and off to Whoville they went. Frosty pulled out his iphone 7, hooked it up to GPS and tracked Santa and his sleigh. It lead them straight though Whoville. Right to Mr. Gumdrops Candy Cane Forest, to the Candy Cane Cave. The GPS STOPPED, right at the Candy Cane Cave. They went into the cave where, their they seen Santa. He was all tied up in Christmas lights and garland, we knew this had to be the Grinch! So they made a plain! Frosty was sent to distract the Grinch with his Jolly Old Sole, and poor old Rudolph was left to get Santa all untied. Rudolph managed to get Santa untied in a matter of seconds, they yelled at Frosty and said “Let’s GO”. Santa, Frosty and Rudolph jumped into the sleigh and back to the North Pole they flew. Now Santa is safe at the North Pole ready to make toys again. Baylor Vasquez * * * The Disappearing Santa Mystery Once upon a time three days before (SEE MYSTERY on page 34)

2nd Grade: Greene Santa weighed too much for his sleigh to carry him! So he stepped on the scale and he realized he needed to lose 100 pounds. “You only have two weeks before Christmas!” exclaimed Mrs. Claus. So Santa got busy working out and he checked at the end of the first week. He had lost 50 pounds and he was happy, but he still had 50 more pounds to go! He worked out for 6 hours every day making sure didn’t forget his pushups. Then he weighed in. He has lost the last 50 pounds and he was so happy. On Christmas Eve he climbed in his sleigh, “I hope you have a Merry Christmas whether you are nice or naughty. Well, not if you’re naughty!” Ethan Faurot * * * Santa weighs 200 pounds but he needs to weigh 100 pounds before Christmas Eve! He knew he was going to weigh too much because he had been eating too many candy canes and Mrs. Claus had been telling him to eat healthier because he had to go on the sleigh. Now he is too big to fit because of all the sweet stuff he had eaten. “There is only 2 weeks left,” Mrs. Clause told Santa. He decided to do pushups and run 2 miles and lost 100 pounds. Christmas was no longer canceled and they celebrated by buying Santa a new suit for Christmas Eve. “Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas!” said Santa. Renee Beeson * * * Santa just got out of his bed and went to the bathroom. He got on the scale and he weighed 300 pounds! Mrs. Claus said, “Santa, you have to lose 100 pounds before Christmas is here!” One of his elves suggested he could run and eat healthier food and no more cookies. Santa agreed. to celebrate, but they had to promise to have no sweets! Marly Cramer * * * Santa waddled to the sleigh and he cracked the whip, but the sleigh would not go. So he went in and went on the scale and it broke. Santa then realized he had to lose 100 pounds before Christmas Eve. Dieting was hard and one night he snuck up and got a candy cane. Mrs. Claus found him and said, “You have to eat vegetables and fruit!” So he got a whole thing of carrots and eight apples and then he lost ten pounds. Then he did pushups and backflips on the trampoline. That night he got on the scale, he had lost 90 more pounds. He had lost 100 pounds’ total! Then Santa was able to deliver all the presents and he celebrated by eating 100 treats! Ho, ho, ho! Isaac Bain * * * One day Santa woke up from his nap. He asked one of his elves if the sleigh was ready and they said, “Yes!” Then he waddled slowly to the sleigh. Next he got in the sleigh. He got his whip and he said, “Mush!” The sleigh slowly moved and he kept calling out to the reindeer over and over. Finally, he stopped and slowly got out of the sleigh and went inside of his house. He went to his bathroom and he stepped on his scale and it said he weighed 200 pounds! Sana yelled, “Mrs. Claus!” She marched in and Santa explained, “I weigh 200 pounds!” Mrs. Claus asked him, “How come you don’t go on a diet?” “Ho, ho, ho! You are kidding me, right?” Santa laughed, “No! I’m not doing that honey!” The next day, Mrs. Claus told Santa that she was going to stop making cookies. “Ya, right,” thought Santa. The next day Santa woke up. He asked Mrs. Claus what they were eating and she told him oatmeal. Santa gasped! “You have to eat it or else you will have to scoop up reindeer poop!” Mrs.
Claus told him. After that, Mrs. Claus made him eat vegetables. Then she made him go on the scale. He had lost 50 pounds. The next day she woke Santa up and made him run 15 laps. The night before Christmas Eve, he got on the scale and it said he got rid of another 50 pounds! He had to tell everybody and the elves yelled HOORAY! At last, it was the big night! Santa waved goodbye and said “Mush!” Carson Bennett * * * Mrs. Claus told Santa, “Honey, you are too fat to fit in the sleigh. How are the kids going to be happy on Christmas?” Santa said, “Well I am 600 pounds. How am I going to lose 100 pounds before Christmas?” “Well, you could start lifting some of the weights that you were going to deliver to the moms and dads.” Mrs. Claus explained. “Okay, I will try,” Santa said. So Santa started losing weight. It was one day until Christmas. Santa had lost 99 pounds. So Santa lifted the weights six more times. Santa finally made his goal, he had lost 100 pounds in two weeks! Now, Christmas was saved. Chayston Berry * * * It was two weeks before Christmas and Santa needed to weigh himself to see how much weight he had lost since last Christmas when he had stepped on the scale and broken it. She had told him he needed to do something about it. He found a bigger and stronger scale and it said he weighed 306 pounds. “Ho, ho, ho! I weigh more than last Christmas!” he exclaimed to Mrs. Claus. “You need to get on a healthy food diet,” Mrs. Claus told him. Santa agreed. He ate a salad with carrots and all kinds of vegetables in it for a week. One night Santa may have eaten some cookies and milk! That morning, Mrs. Clause said, “Mister! Have you been eating some treats?” “No! Remember I was
on a healthy food diet!” Mr. Claus cried. “Don’t you be lying to me!” Mrs. Claus scolded. When Santa took a shower that morning, her put on his long underwear and thought about how he shouldn’t have lied to Mrs. Claus. He was going tell Mrs. Claus the truth after he ate a very, very healthy breakfast! That morning for breakfast he ate fruit and a smoothie. Then he told Mrs. Claus all about the treats he sneaked and how sorry he was for lying. Mrs. Claus forgave him and asked, “Have you weighed yourself since last week?” Santa said, “No, I will do that now.” He stepped on the scale and he was so proud of himself. Do you know how much he weighed? He weighed 206 pounds and it was such great timing because there was 1 day until Christmas! From now on, Santa only eats cookies on Christmas, but the rest of the year he ate vegetables. Evan Heili * * * Santa tried to get in his suit, but the buckle would not buckle. So he did pushups and sit-ups until it was time for Christmas. He finally lost 100 pounds and he was able to deliver presents in his
sleigh.
Rajani Torres * * * It was two weeks before Christmas and Santa tried to get on his sleigh and the reindeer pulled and pulled but the sleigh never came off the ground. So he waddled back into the North Pole and went on the scale and realized he had to lose 100 pounds before Christmas Eve and he told the elves to come up with good ideas for Santa to lose weight. So the elves stopped what they were doing and went to the thinking room and started thinking how Santa could lose 100 pounds and one of the elves came up with a good idea. He told Santa to eat vegetable and fruit, but then he didn’t like that idea so he kept looking for another elf and he found the perfect elf then the elf said to run 3 miles! Santa ran three miles then he went back into the North Pole and he thought he lost 100 pounds but he only lost 10 pounds. Mrs. Claus said to run 4 miles and he ran his four miles and he lost 90 pounds. He never ate sweets again and then Christmas was saved. 4th Grade: Mystery The Disappearing Santa Mystery Once upon a time three days before Christmas in The North Pole there was an elf named Snowflake. She was working at Santas workshop making a car when she was done she went to give it to Santa. She heard someone crying so she went in to investigate. There was Mrs. Claus crying “What’s wrong?” I asked. Mrs. Claus couldn’t even speak because she was crying so much. “He-he’s gone!” Mrs Claus replied. ”Do you know what happened!?” I asked. ”No he just disappeared!” Mrs Claus replied with fright. ”Ok this is serious we have to find him before Christmas eve so technically we have one day so let’s stop wasting our time and find Santa!” Snowflake said. “Ok so let’s hurry to the sleigh and find Santa.” Said Mrs. Claus. But as they were walking torward the sleigh they ran in to Olaf. ”Hey guys watcha doin?” said Olaf. “Were trying to find Santa. He disappeared!” Snowflake replied. “Oh no were did he go!?” Olaf asked. “We don’t know!” said Mrs. Claus and Snowflake at the same time. “Can I go?” Asked olaf “Sure! Said snowflake but we’ve got to hurry.” As they were heading towards the sleigh they decided to fly over who-ville first. But he wasn’t there. So, they started wondering who would’ve took him? Then something

cam up to Snowflake’s mind “The grinch of course!” Everyone was happy that they might find Santa! It was getting a little late so they had to hurry. As they were heading north of Who-Ville where the grinch lived it began to look uglier, uglier, and uglier. There were crows instead of graceful birds, dead rotten plants instead of beautiful flowers, and an ugly black pond with dead fish in it. Finally they landed at there destination. They saw Santa in a cage through the window! “We have to save him!” Said snowflake “Okay!” Said Mrs. Claus “We can do it!” said Olaf. “Ok I got a plan Olaf you’re going to distract the grinch while I get inside and get Santa. Mrs. Claus you start the sleigh so were ready to go.” “Ok on the count of three one...two...three...go!” Olaf went running in to distract the Grinch. Snowflake was running as fast as she could to untie Santa from the rope the grinch had tied him in and Mrs.Claus had the sleigh ready to go. Snowflake got Santa! She got into the sleigh as quickly as she could. Once she, Mrs. Claus, and Santa were seated they called Olaf to come to the sleigh. Then they flew back home and welcomed Santa home then they prepared Christmas and lived happily ever after. Dareli Arreola
Tracking Santa’s Christmas flight NORAD’s Santa tracking operation moved onto the web in 1998, and kids and parents can go to the NORAD Tracks Santa website (www.noradsanta.org/en/) and track the big fella’s movements. The story goes that NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) got involved in Santa’s movements after its predecessor, CONAD (Continental Air Defense Command), got calls about Santa’s whereabouts after Sears & Roebuck mistakenly misprinted a Santa hotline telephone number in newspaper ads in 1955. The commander who answered the first child’s call gave out the requested info, and a tradition was born. When CONAD became NORAD, the bi-national air defense command for the United States and Canada in 1958, it took over the duties of tracking Santa’s around-the-world flight. Kids can check out the Santa webcams that “capture images of Santa and the Reindeer as they make their journey around the world.”

North Pole. “There is only two weeks until Christmas. I’ve got to do that test drive.” said Santa “Well Santa, your buckle doesn’t even buckle. Get on the scale and see for yourself. You weigh 382 pounds!” said Mrs. Claus. “Oh fine, I’ll just build a time machine, so I can jump back and fix it.” (Santa rolls his eyes.) “I really mean it, because you could pull, and push the sleigh, and do other stuff like that while the elves build a time machine” said Mrs. Claus. So Santa took off his coat and told all of the elves. He split the elves up into 3 groups of 40. “Forty could build toys, forty could build the time machine and forty could help you.” said Mrs. Claus. Santa got to work. But finally, Mrs. Claus found Santa sneaking treats. So, Mrs. Claus stopped baking her yummy
