The memorial was designed after a Greek Temple. The memorial is 99 ft. tall (the whole building). The memorial is made out of marble and Indiana limestone. Daniel French is the designer of the memorial. There are 36 columns around the building, each one represents a state of the union. The architect was Hennery Bacon.

Martin Luther King gave his “I have a dream” speech in 1963. The memorial is a popular attraction. To get to the top you have to climb up 59 steps. The Lincoln Statue in the middle is 19 ft. tall. On the northern wall of the memorial Lincoln’s 2nd speech is printed. The memorial is used for gatherings and special rallies. On the southern wall of the memorial, the Gettysburg address is printed.
