INTRODUCTION 1.1
TITLE & JURISDICTION The BMRC Trophy 2012 is organised and administered by The Scottish Motor Racing Club Limited in accordance with the General Regulations of the MSA (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA) and these Regulations.

DEFINITIONS In these Regulations the following words or phrases shall have the meanings ascribed to them below: 2.1
“the BMRC Trophy” means the award to be given by the Club to the Member who is allocated the highest number of Points in the Qualifying Races at the Race Meetings;

“the Championships” means the each of the six championships which the Club is authorised by the MSA to organise in 2012, namely
the Scottish Fiesta Championship the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup the Scottish Saloon and Sports Car Championship the Scottish Legends Cars Championship the Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Championship the Scottish Formula Ford 1600 Championship;

“the Club” means The Scottish Motor Racing Club Limited;

“Member” means a fully paid-up member of the Club;

“the MSA” means The Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association Limited;

“Points” means the following number of points allocated to the first six classified and eligible finishers in a Qualifying Race:

“Race Meetings” means the six race meetings organised by the Club which take place at Knockhill Race Circuit on the following dates in 2012 and “Race Meeting” shall be construed accordingly:
8 April 5 / 6 May 21 / 22 July 12 August 23 September 7 October; Scottish Classic Sports and Saloon Championship 6 scoring rounds will include the meeting at Knockhill on August 25/26 which replaces the July 21/22 meeting were they are not racing at Knockhill.

“Qualifying Race” means the relevant race for each of the Championships at each of the Race Meetings and which is: 2.8.1
if there is only one such race for a Championship at a Race Meeting, that race, or
2.8.2
if there are more than one race for a Championship at a Race Meeting (other than a heat or race of the Scottish Legends Cars Championship), the first of such races, or
2.8.3
for the Scottish Legends Cars Championship, the first heat at a Race Meeting irrespective of the number of heats and finals which take place for that Championship at that Race Meeting, but always subject to the following further provisions:
2.8.4
if at a Race Meeting a race is arranged for any of the Championships which is to act as a qualification race in relation to the Qualifying Race in that Championship at that Race Meeting, that qualification race shall not be a Qualifying Race;
2.8.5
if a Qualifying Race is cancelled, abandoned or declared “no contest”, the next race or heat for the Championship in question at that Race Meeting shall be the Qualifying Race for that Championship at that Race Meeting;
2.8.6
if a Member competes in more than one Qualifying Race at a Race Meeting, that Member shall be eligible for Points only with reference to the first of such races in which that Member competes at that Race Meeting;
2.8.7
if any race takes place at a Race Meeting in which cars in more than one of the Championships compete in that race together, that race shall be deemed for the purposes of awarding Points to be a Qualifying Race for the Members in each of the Championships involved and Points for each
of the classified and eligible finishers shall be allocated as if there had been, in these circumstances, separate races running concurrently; and 2.8.8

if in any circumstances the cars entered for one Championship are required by the Club to compete in one of two or more separate races at a Race Meeting, each such separate race shall be a Qualifying Race for the purpose of the awarding of Points.
ALLOCATION OF POINTS 3.1
Points shall be allocated to each Member who is a classified finisher in a Qualifying Race and who is not ineligible for allocation of Points.
3.2
A Member is ineligible for allocation of Points if he/she competes in any Qualifying Race in an invitation class, or as a guest competitor, or as a celebrity competitor. If such ineligible Member is classified in the first six places in any Qualifying Race, his/her classified finishing position shall be disregarded in determining which Members shall be allocated Points for being the first six classified and eligible finishers in the Qualifying race in question.

If a Qualifying Race for any of the Championships does not take place at the Race Meeting held on 8 April 2012, the number of Points allocated to the first six classified and eligible finishers in the next Qualifying Race for that Championship shall be twice the number of Points specified in paragraph 2.6 of these Regulations.

If a Qualifying Race for any of the Championships does not take place at any Race Meeting other than the Race Meeting on 8 April 2012, the Members to whom Points were allocated with reference to the previous Qualifying Race for that Championship shall each be allocated the same number of Points again, as if the result of the Qualifying Race which does not take place is deemed to have taken place with a result which is exactly the same as the previous Qualifying Race for that Championship.

Subject to paragraph 4 of these Regulations, the Member with the highest number of allocated Points after the Points for the last Qualifying Race in 2012 have been allocated shall be awarded the BMRC Trophy for 2012.
RESOLVING A TIE In the event that two or more Members have been allocated the same total number of Points after Points for the last Qualifying Race in 2012 have been allocated, the provisions of General Regulation (W)1.3.4 as published in the MSA Competitors’ and Officials’ Yearbook 2012 shall be applied to resolve the tie.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION In the event of a dispute arising between any affected parties on any matter relating to or governed by these Regulations, the same shall be adjudicated upon by the Committee of the Club or by such members of that Committee as the Chairman of the Club may appoint for such purpose and the decision of the Committee, or of such appointed Committee members, shall be final and binding on all the affected parties in all circumstances. _____________________________________________
